Thirty samples of total suspended particles were collected at a site in western part of Lhasa,Tibet from August 2.06 to July *** 10Be concentrations were determined by Accelerator Mass Spectrometer (AMS).Analysis of correlation between 10Be concentrations and meteorological factors revealed that the wet scavenging has little effect on 10Be.10Be can be used as a proxy of transport processes of the upper atmosphere over the Tibetan *** of correlation between 10Be concentrations and NCEP reanalysis data demonstrated that higher 10Be concentrations in spring were probably caused by the atmosphere exchange from stratosphere to troposphere during February to *** 10Be concentrations during August to September were consistent with the synchronous lower O3 values,suggestive of both 10Be and O3 were probably influenced by the atmosphere exchange from troposphere to stratosphere.

Element geochemistry and cleaning potential of the No. 11 coal seam from Antaibao mining district

Three standard minerals GA-1550 biotite,LP-6 biotite and Bern-4M muscovite used for K-Ar and Ar-Ar dating have been investigated by the single grain Rb-Sr *** to the K-Ar and Ar-Ar results previously reported,these mica standards nevertheless show complex characteristics in the Rb-Sr isotopic *** on eight individual grains of GA-1550 biotite gives a Rb-Sr isochron age of 98.7±1.9 Ma,consistent with previous dating results of the K-Ar and stepwise heating and laser ablation Ar-Ar *** evidence of the laser ablation Ar-Ar analyses in many previous studies demonstrates that LP-6 biotite is considerably inhomogeneous in the K-Ar isotopic system,Rb-Sr isotopic analyses on ten individual biotite grains show achievement of Sr isotopic equilibrium during crystallization.A Rb-Sr isochron age of 12..2.2.2.Ma calculated from the analytical results is concordant with those previously reported K-Ar and Ar-Ar ages obtained from c.30 mg aliquots of biotite *** age reproducibility on Bern-4M muscovite was previously achieved by K-Ar and Ar-Ar dating by total fusion in c.30 mg aliquots of muscovite grains,but single grain Rb-Sr analytical results in this study demonstrate considerable disequilibrium of Sr isotopic system during crystallization of *** discordance in the Rb-Sr and K-Ar isotopic systems of two standard minerals indicates complex factors that can influence isotopic disequilibrium of both isotopic systems.

Based on the analyses of sulfur and 41 other elements in 8 channel samples of the No. 11 coal seam from Antaibao surface mine, Shanxi, china and 4 samples from the coal preparation plant of this mine, the distribution of the elements in the seam profile, their geo-chemical partitioning behavior during the coal cleaning and the genetic relationships between the both are studied. The conclusions are drawn as follows. The coal-forming environment was probably invaded by sea water during the post-stage of peatification, which results in the fact that the contents of As, Fe, S, etc. associated closely with sea water tend to increase toward the top of the seam, and that the kaolinite changes into illite and montmorillonite in the coal-sublayer near the roof. These elements studied are dominantly associated with kaolinite, pyrite, illite, montmorillonite, etc., of which the As, Pb, Mn, Cs, Co, Ni, etc. are mainly associated with sulfides, the Mo, V, Nb, Hf, REEs, Ta etc. mainly with kaolintie, the Mg, Al etc. mainly with epigenetic montmorillonite, and the Rb, Cr, Ba, Cu, K, Hg, etc. mainly with epigenetic illite. The physical coal cleaning is not only effective in the removal of ash and sulfur, but also in reducing the concentra-tion of most major and trace elements. The elements Be, U, Sb, W, Br, Se, P, etc. are largely or partly organically bound showing a relatively low removability, while the removability of the other elements studied is more than 2.%, of which the Mg, Mn, Hg, Fe, As, K, Al, Cs, and Cr associ-ated mostly with the coarser or epigenetic minerals show a higher removability than that of ash. The distribution of the elements in the seam profile controls their partitioning behavior to a great degree during the coal cleaning processes.

e penetrative depth in undisturbed surface soil is within 4 mm.7￣Be activity shows exponential decrease with soil depth, which is expressed as a diffusion process.7￣Be penetrative depth in undisturbed surface soil is apparently deeper in the fall (0.2.-0.37 g cm￣(-2. than in the spring (0.11-0.2. g cm￣(-2. at the same site; Whereas, ￣7Be apparent activity at the top of surface soil is higher in the spring (0.3-2.2.Bq g￣(-1_) than in the fall (0.2.0.5 Bq g￣(-1) at the same site. The ￣7Be inventory (189-544 Bq m￣(-2. changes with both locations and seasons. Although the ￣7Be flux to the earth's surface increases with amount of precipitation, its maximum inventory in the soil profiles decreases to 30%-40% after the rainy period. Calculated by the diffusion equation, the erosion and accumulation rates of soil particles are agreeable with the observation in situ., which shows that the rates in fall are 1.5 times those in spring. The eroded soil particles almost all have been removed on the tablelands rather than transported into the drainage system. This indicstes that the soil erosion process in the karst region is only partial transportation within a short distance.

We report the concentration of 50 elements,including rare earth elements(REEs) and platinum group elements(PGEs) in bulk samples of the Grove Mountains(GRV) 9902. lherzolitic *** abundances of REEs are distinctly lower than those of Allan Hills(ALH) A77005 and other lherzolitic shergottites,indicating that GRV 9902. is not paired with *** may,nevertheless, sample the same igneous unit as the others(Lin et al.2.05b;wang and Chen 2.06).The CI-normalized elemental pattern of GRV 9902. reveals low(0.004-0.008×CI) and unfractionated PGEs (except for Pd of 0.018×CI) without depletion of W or Ga relative to lithophile element trends. Fractionation between siderophile and lithophile elements become less pronounced with increase of volatility,except for high abundances of Ni and *** characteristics are probably representative of the mantle of Mars,which is consistent with previous work that the Martian mantle formed in a deep magma ocean followed by a later accretion of chondritic materials.

The values of grains containing oil inclusions(GOI) in 12. reservoir sandstone samples from the central Junggar Basin of Northwest china were *** sandstones are characterized by different types of hydrocarbon production and *** values range from 0.015%to 19.9%,and show a fairly good correlation with the hydrocarbon production/shows,which are qualitatively suggestive of reservoir hydrocarbon abundance and petroleum ***,it may be implied that the values can reflect hydrocarbon migration,being not controlled mainly by the other influencing *** correlation between the values and the reservoir hydrocarbon production and show types indicates that the GOI method can be used in hydrocarbon migration study when the petroleum type of a reservoir is normal oil or gas alone,but it should be used with caution when light oil charges the reservoirs or a complex hydrocarbon migration event takes *** case study in the central Junggar Basin using the method presents some new understanding on hydrocarbon ***, the method may help to solve specific petroleum geological problems,and can be treated as a routine tool in hydrocarbon migration study.

Guanling biota has been found at the bottom of Wayao Formation of UpperTriassic (Carn-ic stage) near Xinpu town, Guanling County, Guizhou Province, china. There are a lotof crinoids and marine reptiles, which is a characteristic of Guanling biota, including ammonites,bivalve, brachiopod, fish, conodont and plant. These fossils are featured not only with the largequantity, but also with their extraordinary perfect forms. This paper explores the meaning,geological background, present situation of study and scientific significance of Guanling biota.
