Investigation of formaldehyde sources and its relative emission intensity in shipping channel environment

Formaldehyde(HCHO)is considered one of the most abundant gas-phase carbonyl compounds in the atmosphere,which can be directly emitted through transportation sources.Long-Path Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy(LP-DOAS)was used to observe HCHO in the river channel of Wusong Wharf in Shanghai,China for the whole year of 2019.Due to the impact of ship activity,the annual average HCHO level in the channel is about2.5 times higher than that in the nearby campus environment.To explain the sources of HCHO under different meteorological conditions,the tracer-pair of CO and O_(x)(NO_(2)+O_(3))was used on the clustered air masses.The results of the source appointment show that primary,secondary and background account for 24.14%(3.34±1.19 ppbv),44.78%(6.20±2.04ppbv)and 31.09%(4.31±2.33 ppbv)of the HCHO in the channel when the air masses were from the mixed direction of the city and channel,respectively.By performing background station subtraction at times of high primary HCHO values and resolving the plume peaks,directly emitted HCHO/NO_(2)in the channel environment and plume were determined to be mainly distributed between 0.2 and 0.3.General cargo ships with higher sailing speeds or main engine powers tend to have higher HCHO/NO_(2)levels.With the knowledge of NO_(2)(or NO_(x))emission levels from ships,this study may provide data support for the establishment of HCHO emission factors.

Osteonecrosis of the femoral head(ONFH)is mainly caused by a decrease in the vascular supply to the subchondral bone of the femoral head,leading to the death of bone cells,degeneration and necrosis of the subchondral bone,and eventually collapse of the femoral head.^([1])Early and accurate diagnosis is the key to successful hip-preserving therapy,and the size/location of necrosis is the main determinant for ONFH treatment.Previous studies have shown that many hip-preserving therapies achieved satisfactory results in ONFH patients with Association Research Circulation Osseous(ARCO)I–II.When ONFH progresses to ARCO IV with clinical manifestations of osteoarthrosis,total hip arthroplasty(THA)may be the only option.

Enhancing milk quality and modulating rectal microbiota of dairy goats in starch‑rich diet:the role of bile acid supplementation

Background Diets rich in starch have been shown to increase a risk of reducing milk fat content in dairy goats.While bile acids(BAs)have been used as a lipid emulsifier in monogastric and aquatic animals,their effect on ruminants is not well understood.This study aimed to investigate the impact of BAs supplementation on various aspects of dairy goat physiology,including milk composition,rumen fermentation,gut microbiota,and BA metabolism.Results We randomly divided eighteen healthy primiparity lactating dairy goats(days in milk=100±6 d)into two groups and supplemented them with 0 or 4 g/d of BAs undergoing 5 weeks of feeding on a starch-rich diet.The results showed that BAs supplementation positively influenced milk yield and improved the quality of fatty acids in goat milk.BAs supplementation led to a reduction in saturated fatty acids(C16:0)and an increase in monounsaturated fatty acids(cis-9 C18:1),resulting in a healthier milk fatty acid profile.We observed a significant increase in plasma total bile acid concentration while the proportion of rumen short-chain fatty acids was not affected.Furthermore,BAs supplementation induced significant changes in the composition of the gut microbiota,favoring the enrichment of specific bacterial groups and altering the balance of microbial populations.Correlation analysis revealed associations between specific bacterial groups(Bacillus and Christensenellaceae R-7 group)and BA types,suggesting a role for the gut microbiota in BA metabolism.Functional prediction analysis revealed notable changes in pathways associated with lipid metabolism,suggesting that BAs supplementation has the potential to modulate lipid-related processes.Conclusion These findings highlight the potential benefits of BAs supplementation in enhancing milk production,improving milk quality,and influencing metabolic pathways in dairy goats.Further research is warranted to elucidate the underlying mechanisms and explore the broader implications of these findings.

Photothermal catalytic CO_(2) conversion provides an effective solution targeting carbon neutrality by synergistic utilization of photon and heat.However,the C-C coupling initiated by photothermal catalysis is still a big challenge.Herein,a three-dimensional(3D)hierarchical W_(18)O_(49)/WTe_(2) hollow nanosphere is constructed through in-situ embodying of oxygen vacancy and tellurium on the scaffold of WO_(3).The light absorption towards near-infrared spectral region and CO_(2) adsorption are enhanced by the formation of half-metal WTe_(2) and the unique hierarchical hollow architecture.Combining with the generation of oxygen vacancy with strengthened CO_(2) capture,the photothermal effect on the samples can be sufficiently exploited for activating the CO_(2) molecules.In particular,the close contact between W_(18)O_(49)and WTe_(2) largely promotes the photoinduced charge separation and mass transfer,and thus the~*CHO intermediate formation and fixedness are facilitated.As a result,the C-C coupling can be evoked between tungsten and tellurium atoms on WTe_(2).The ethylene production by optimized W_(18)O_(49)/WTe_(2) reaches 147.6μmol g^(-1)with the selectivity of 80%.The in-situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy(DRIFTS)and density functional theory(DFT)calculations are performed to unveil the presence and significance of aldehyde intermediate groups in C-C coupling.The half-metallic WTe_(2) cocatalyst proposes a new approach for efficient CO_(2) conversion with solar energy,and may especially create a new platform for the generation of multi-carbon products.

Mission scheduling of multi-sensor collaborative observation for space surveillance network

With increased dependence on space assets,scheduling and tasking of the space surveillance network(SSN)are vitally important.The multi-sensor collaborative observation scheduling(MCOS)problem is a multi-constraint and high-conflict complex combinatorial optimization problem that is nondeterministic polynomial(NP)-hard.This research establishes a sub-time window constraint satisfaction problem(STWCSP)model with the objective of maximizing observation profit.Considering the significant effect of genetic algorithms(GA)on solving the problem of resource allocation,an evolution heuristic(EH)algorithm containing three strategies that focus on the MCOS problem is proposed.For each case,a task scheduling sequence is first obtained via an improved GA with penalty(GAPE)algorithm,and then a mission planning algorithm(heuristic rule)is used to determine the specific observation time.Compared to the model without sub-time windows and some other algorithms,a series of experiments illustrate the STWCSP model has better performance in terms of total profit.Experiments about strategy and parameter sensitivity validate its excellent performance in terms of EH algorithms.

Dense gas-solid flows are very common in actual production and industrial fields,so it is significant to understand their hydrodynamic characteristics and heat and mass transfer behaviors.This article provides a brief review of multi-scale numerical simulation of flow,heat and mass transfer behaviors in dense gas-solid flows.It describes multiscale models(direct numerical simulation,discrete particle model,and two-fluid model)and the results of related research.Finally,it discusses possible future developments in research on the flow,heat and mass transfer characteristics of dense gas-solid two-phase flows.

Organic heterojunction synaptic device with ultra high recognition rate for neuromorphic computing

Traditional computing structures are blocked by the von Neumann bottleneck,and neuromorphic computing devices inspired by the human brain which integrate storage and computation have received more and more attention.Here,a flexible organic device with 2,7-dioctyl[1]benzothieno[3,2-b][1]benzothiophene(C8-BTBT)and 2,9-didecyldinaphtho[2,3-b:2′,3′-f]thieno[3,2-b]thiophene(C10-DNTT)heterostructural channel having excellent synaptic behaviors was fabricated on muscovite(MICA)substrate,which has a memory window greater than 20 V.This device shows better electrical characteristics than organic field effect transistors with single organic semiconductor channel.Furthermore,the device simulates organism synaptic behaviors successfully,such as paired-pulse facilitation(PPF),long-term potentiation/depression(LTP/LTD)process,and transition from short-term memory(STM)to long-term memory(LTM)by optical and electrical modulations.Importantly,the neuromorphic computing function was verified using the Modified National Institute of Standards and Technology(MNIST)pattern recognition,with a recognition rate nearly 100%without noise.This research proposes a flexible organic heterojunction with the ultra-high recognition rate in MNIST pattern recognition and provides the possibility for future flexible wearable neuromorphic computing devices.

Numerical simulation of three-dimensional fracturing fracture propagation in radial wells

A fracture propagation model of radial well fracturing is established based on the finite element-meshless method.The model considers the coupling effect of fracturing fluid flow and rock matrix deformation.The fracture geometries of radial well fracturing are simulated,the induction effect of radial well on the fracture is quantitatively characterized,and the influences of azimuth,horizontal principle stress difference,and reservoir matrix permeability on the fracture geometries are revealed.The radial wells can induce the fractures to extend parallel to their axes when two radial wells in the same layer are fractured.When the radial wells are symmetrically distributed along the direction of the minimum horizontal principle stress with the azimuth greater than 15,the extrusion effect reduces the fracture length of radial wells.When the radial wells are symmetrically distributed along the direction of the maximum horizontal principal stress,the extrusion increases the fracture length of the radial wells.The fracture geometries are controlled by the rectification of radial borehole,the extrusion between radial wells in the same layer,and the deflection of the maximum horizontal principal stress.When the radial wells are distributed along the minimum horizontal principal stress symmetrically,the fracture length induced by the radial well decreases with the increase of azimuth;in contrast,when the radial wells are distributed along the maximum horizontal principal stress symmetrically,the fracture length induced by the radial well first decreases and then increases with the increase of azimuth.The fracture length induced by the radial well decreases with the increase of horizontal principal stress difference.The increase of rock matrix permeability and pore pressure of the matrix around radial wells makes the inducing effect of the radial well on fractures increase.

作为生成式人工智能的深度伪造技术给社会带来了新的风险与挑战。从类型学上看,深度伪造技术同时引发了基于个体权利谱系的微观法律风险、基于市场经济秩序的中观法律风险和基于国家公共安全的宏观法律风险,并依此形成了多样化和梯次性的法律风险格局。为有效化解风险,各国存在“自下而上型”分散治理模式、“自上而下型”垂直治理模式以及“多方参与型”合作治理模式。我国可通过“软法+硬法+算法”相结合的综合治理模式,实现对前述法律风险的有效防控:在软法层面,完善科技伦理制度,明确科技伦理的实体规范和程序规范;在硬法层面,通过“风险预防”与“风险控制”,强化风险防控的刚性约束;在算法层面,实现从样本数据采集到深度伪造内容发布的全过程技术监督,发挥技术的规范功能。
