Boosting practical high voltage lithium metal batteries by butyronitrile in ether electrolytes via coordination, hydrolysis of C≡N and relatively mild concentration strategy

Currently ether solvents have been regarded as the most compatible organic solvents with lithium metal in electrolytes of lithium ***,ether solvents are unstable under high voltage (>4.0 V),and prone to side reactions with nickel-rich high-voltage cathode *** this work,a novel dual-solvent electrolyte in ethylene glycol dimethyl ether (DME) and butyronitrile (BN) mixed solvent was designed and fabricated for Li/Li Ni_(0.5)Mn_(0.3)Co_(0.2)O_(2)-based lithium metal *** charged to high voltage4.3 V,the battery cycled in this optimal electrolyte can maintain the capacity at 133.7 m Ah g^(-1) with a retention of 88.84%after 150 cycles at 0.2 C and-10℃.During long-term cycling,the battery also exhibits excellent cycling performance with capacity maintained at about 112.0 m Ah g^(-1) after 500 cycles at 1C and-10℃.BN has strong oxidation resistance and high conductivity,which can inhibit the decomposition of ether solvents under high voltage and improve the low temperature performance of battery ***,the cyano (–C≡N) group in BN molecular has a strong coordination ability with the high-valent metal ions and can mask the active ions on the cathode,correspondingly reducing the corrosion of cathode material by the ***,cyano group can participate in the hydrolysis to remove trace amounts of water and acidic by-products such as HF in the ***,the boosting effect of butyronitrile for ether solvents can provide a promising strategy for enhancing the performance of high voltage lithium metal batteries for practical industrialization.

A method of constructing restriction map by optical mapping and single molecule fluorescent microscopy is described. DNA molecules were aligned and adsorbed on a glass coverslip surface by a modified 'molecular combing' technique, and then the surface-immobilized DNAs were cleaved in situ with a restriction endonuclease. Individual DNA molecules digested by the endonuclease EcoR I were observable with fluorescent microscopy. Using optical mapping, a physical map of a rice bacterial artificial chro-mosome clone was constructed. This method will facilitate genomic mapping and tracing the dynamic process in real time at a single molecule level with fluorescence microscopy.

The state of health(SOH)and remaining useful life(RUL)of lithium-ion batteries are crucial for health management and ***,most data-driven estimation methods heavily rely on scarce labeled data,while traditional transfer learning faces challenges in handling domain shifts across various battery *** paper proposes an enhanced vision-transformer integrating with semi-supervised transfer learning for SOH and RUL estimation of lithium-ion batteries.A depth-wise separable convolutional vision-transformer is developed to extract local aging details with depth-wise convolutions and establishes global dependencies between aging information using multi-head *** mean discrepancy is employed to initially reduce the distribution difference between the source and target domains,providing a superior starting point for fine-tuning the target domain ***,the abundant aging data of the same type as the target battery are labeled through semi-supervised learning,compensating for the source model's limitations in capturing target battery aging *** regularization incorporates the cross-entropy between predictions with and without adversarial perturbations into the gradient backpropagation of the overall *** particular,across the experimental groups 13–15 for different types of batteries,the root mean square error of SOH estimation was less than 0.66%,and the mean relative error of RUL estimation was 3.86%.Leveraging extensive unlabeled aging data,the proposed method could achieve accurate estimation of SOH and RUL.

Metal sulfides such as Bismuth sulfide(Bi2 S3) hold immense potential to be promoted as anode materials for lithium-ion batteries(LIBs),owing to their high theoretical gravimetric and volumetric ***,the poor electrical conductivity and volume expansion during cycling hinder the practical applications of Bi2 *** this work,we used pyrrole and glucose as carbon source to design the surface carbon coating on the surface of Bi2 S3 particles,to improve the structural stability of Bi2 *** composite materials were synthesized-Bi2 S3 coated with nitrogen doped carbon(Bi2 S3@NC),and Bi2 S3 coated with carbon(Bi2 S3@C).When used as anode active materials,both Bi2 S3@NC and Bi2 S3@C showed improved performance compared to Bi2 S3,which confirms surface carbon coating as an effective and scalable way for the modification of Bi2 S3 *** electrode based on Bi2 S3@NC materials demonstrated higher performance than that of Bi2 S3@C,with an initial discha rge capacity of 1126.5 mA h/g,good cycling stability(500 mA h/g after 200 cycles at 200 mA/g) and excellent rate ***,Li storage and migration mechanisms in Bi2 S3 are revealed using first principle density functional theory calculations.

The silicon-based materials are promising candidates for lithium-ion batteries owing to their high energy ***,achieving long lifespan under realistic conditions remains a challenge because of the volume expansion and low *** this work,the highly elastic cobweb-like composite materials consisted by SiO and nanofibers are designed and fabricated for high-efficient lithium storage by ballmilling&electrostatic spinning *** reconstructed heterostructure and highly elastic nanofibers can simultaneously increase the conductivity and inhibit the"expansion effect"of silicon-based *** constructed electrode of n-SiO/CNF delivers an initial capacity of 1700 m Ah/g,and maintains the capacities over 1000 m Ah/g after 100 cycles at the current density of 500 m A/***,this electrode can give an initial coulombic efficiency over 85%and maintains at 98%in the following charge/discharge ***,it exhibits efficient long-term electrochemical performance,maintaining the capacity at about 1000 m Ah/g at a high current density of 1000 m A/g after 1000 *** work could provide a promising strategy for enhancing the performance of siliconbased composite materials for practical application in lithium-ion batteries.

Metal-organic framework materials(MOFs),such as zeolitic imidazolate framework(ZIF),have been widely used in energy storage due to their advantages such as high structural stability,large specific surface,more active sites and skeleton ***,a novel two-dimensional(2D)Co Cu-ZIF was synthesized by a facile solvothermal *** as-prepared Co Cu-ZIF nanosheets exhibit an ultrahigh reversible capacity of 2287.4 m Ah/g and remains at 1172.1 m Ah/g after 300 cycles at a current density of 100 m A/g,far better than that of the single Co-ZIF and ***,the specific discharge capacity of Co Cu-ZIF nanosheets can maintain at about 590 m Ah/g after 1000 cycles at the current density of 2 A/*** to the synergistic effect of two metals,function of nitrogen in the molecular and selfassembly 2D nanosheets,our research can provide strong support for the practical application of Co Cu-ZIF materials in lithium ion batteries.

With Laser Reflective Tomography（LRT）,the near fields of ultrasonic transducers were measured and *** principle of LRT measurement of ultrasonic field distribution was introduced and an experimental system was set *** pressure of a multiple element piston transducer was measured by using of a laser *** distribution in amplitude and phase was *** acoustic pressure in the same region was measured with a needle hydrophone to validate the LRT ***,through reconstruction of acoustic fields,it indicated that LRT method is suitable for predicting the distribution on transducers＇surface and conditions of active elements.

Neuroprotective Autophagic Flux Induced by Hyperbaric Oxygen Preconditioning is Mediated by Cystatin C

We have previously reported that Cystatin C(CysC) is a pivotal mediator in the neuroprotection induced by hyperbaric oxygen(HBO) preconditioning; however,the underlying mechanism and how CysC changes after stroke are not clear. In the present study, we demonstrated that CysC expression was elevated as early as 3 h after reperfusion, and this was further enhanced by HBO preconditioning. Concurrently, LC3-II and Beclin-1, two positive-markers for autophagy induction, exhibited increases similar to CysC, while knockdown of CysC blocked these elevations. As a marker of autophagy inhibition, p62 was downregulated by HBO preconditioning and this was blocked by CysC knockdown. Besides, the beneficial effects of preserving lysosomal membrane integrity and enhancing autolysosome formation induced by HBO preconditioning were abolished in CysC-/-***, we demonstrated that exogenous CysC reduced the neurological deficits and infarct volume after brain ischemic injury, while 3-methyladenine partially reversed this neuroprotection. In the present study, we showed that CysC is biochemically and morphologically essential for promoting autophagic flux, and highlighted the translational potential of HBO preconditioning and CysC for stroke treatment.

Grain size is an important factor determining yield in rice. Here, we identified a recessive mutant gene, grain length and awn 1 (gla1), which caused a significant increase in grain length and weight, and was associated with long awns. The gla1 mutation was mapped to a single-nucleotide polymorphism in a gene encoding a cytoplasmically-localized mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) phosphatase. Overexpression of GLA1 caused a decrease in grain length, and the GLA1 protein interacted with OsMAPK6. These results suggest that GLA1 may serve as a negative regulator of the OsMAPKK4-OsMAPK6 cascade, controlling grain size via the dephosphorylation of OsMAPK6.
