Carbon uptake by cement in China:Estimation and contribution to carbon neutrality goals

Cement is a widely used construction material *** manufacturing contributes to anthropogenic CO_(2)emissions ***,its alkaline compounds can absorb CO_(2)from the surrounding environment and engage in a carbonation reaction,thereby functioning as a carbon *** a major cement producer and consumer,China has an important responsibility to rigorously investigate and accurately account for cement carbon *** study presents a comprehensive analytical model of cement carbon uptake from China,revealing a substantial increase in carbon uptake from 1930 to 2021,peaking at 426.77 Mt CO_(2)(95% Confidence Interval:317.67-874.33 Mt CO_(2))in *** uptake accounts for 8.10% to 45.40% of China’s annual land sink and 2.51% to 4.54% of the global land *** cumulative carbon uptake by cement is approximately 7.06 Gt CO_(2)(95%CI:5.22–9.44 Gt CO_(2))during this period,offsetting 50.7% of the total emissions(13.91 Gt CO_(2),95%CI:12.44–17.00 Gt CO_(2))from the cement ***,cement mortar contributed to most absorption(65.64%).From a life cycle perspective,the service stage of cement materials is the period where the largest CO_(2)sink is formed,accounting for 90.03% of the ***,the potential for carbon sequestration in cement materials and their waste is ***,the model improves the accuracy of cement carbon accounting,supporting both China and global carbon neutrality ***,it is crucial for China to achieve its carbon neutrality goals sooner by prioritizing the environmental benefits of cement materials and wastes,and accelerating the development and commercialization of CO_(2)sequestration technologies for cement and its by-products.

HPLC Fingerprint Combined with Chemometrics and Network Pharmacology for Q-Markers Prediction Analysis of Saposhnikovia divaricata

Saposhnikovia divaricata(SD)has high medicinal and edible value,but relatively little research has been done on its qual-ity markers(Q-markers).To further clarify the Q-markers of SD with their corresponding pharmacodynamic *** this experiment,14 batches of SD were identified and screened for Q-marker candidate components using a combination of HPLC fingerprint with similarity analysis,principal component analysis,hierarchical cluster analysis,and partial least squares discriminant ***,network pharmacology was used to predict Q-markers and core *** results showed that 5-O-methylvisammioside,cimifugin,and prim-O-glucosylcimifugin could be used as Q-markers of SD;while,MAPK1,MAPK3,PIK3CA,JUN,and MAPK8 were the core targets of SD for drug *** further evaluate the bind-ing efficiency of Q-markers,molecular docking of the main active ingredients of SD to the core targets was *** results showed that the compounds bind well to their targets,and binding energies were all less than-5 kcal/*** Q-markers obtained from the screening were closely related to the core target genes,which could achieve therapeutic effects by modulating the relevant signaling *** study offers a reference for the establishment of a set of quality control evaluation system for SD potential Q-markers prediction analysis,and lays the foundation for elucidating the mechanism of actionunderlying itspharmacodynamic substance.

Thermoelectric materials are competitive candidates for special cooling ***_(3)Sb_(2)-based materials consisting of inexpensive ingredients have profound thermoelectric *** present,alloying with Mg_(3)Bi_(2) is the most effective approach to optimize the thermoelectric properties of Mg_(3)Sb_(2)-based ***,the extremely low abundance of bismuth in the crust contradicts its economic *** this work,the ZrO_(2) micro-particles were separated into the Mg_(3.2)Sb_(1.99)Te_(0.01).The doping effect of Zr atoms at Mg sites increased the electrical conductivity,and the combined secondary phase lowered the lattice thermal *** acceptable degradation in the Seebeck coefficient,the sample combined with 5%(in mass)ZrO_(2) exhibited a dimensionless figure of merit(zT)of 0.49 and a power factor of 2.7 mW·m^(−1)·K^(−2) near room *** average zT in the range from 300 K to 500 K reached 0.8,on par with the Mg_(3)Sb_(2) single bond Mg_(3)Bi_(2) ***,the compressive and bending strengths reach 669 MPa and 269 MPa,respectively,far superior to the common room-temperature *** secondary phase showed a surprising and uncostly promotion of the Mg_(3)Sb_(2)-based thermoelectric materials,impelling the realization of its commercial application.

Three-dimensional choroidal vascularity index and choroidal thickness in fellow eyes of acute and chronic primary angle-closure using swept-source optical coherence tomography

AIM:To compare the three-dimensional choroidal vascularity index(CVI)and choroidal thickness between fellow eyes of acute primary angle-closure(F-APAC)and chronic primary angle-closure glaucoma(F-CPACG)and the eyes of normal ***:This study included 37 patients with unilateral APAC,37 with asymmetric CPACG without prior treatment,and 36 healthy *** swept-source optical coherence tomography(SS-OCT),the macular and peripapillary choroidal thickness and three-dimensional CVI were measured and compared globally and ***’s correlation analysis and multivariate regression models were used to evaluate choroidal thickness or CVI with related ***:The mean subfoveal CVIs were 0.35±0.10,0.33±0.09,and 0.29±0.04,and the mean subfoveal choroidal thickness were 315.62±52.92,306.22±59.29,and 262.69±45.55μm in the F-APAC,F-CPACG,and normal groups,*** macular sectors showed significantly higher CVIs and choroidal thickness in the F-APAC and F-CPACG eyes than in the normal eyes(P<0.05),while there were no significant differences between the F-APAC and F-CPACG *** the peripapillary region,the mean overall CVIs were 0.21±0.08,0.20±0.08,and 0.19±0.05,and the mean overall choroidal thickness were 180.45±54.18,174.82±50.67,and 176.18±37.94μm in the F-APAC,F-CPACG,and normal groups,*** were no significant differences between any of the two groups in all peripapillary *** age,shorter axial length,and the F-APAC or F-CPACG diagnosis were significantly associated with higher subfoveal CVI and thicker subfoveal choroidal thickness(P<0.05).CONCLUSION:The fellow eyes of unilateral APAC or asymmetric CPACG have higher macular CVI and choroidal thickness than those of the normal *** CVI nor choroidal thickness can distinguish between eyes predisposed to APAC or CPACG.A thicker choroid with a higher vascular volume may play a role in the pathogenesis of primary angle-closure glaucoma.

Application Study on Elastomer Expansion Joint in Heavy Haul Railway

The article summarizes related research results and achievements of elastomer expansion device in railway bridge and puts forward a new idea of using polyurethane elastomer material to seal concrete bridge joints between adjacent spans in heavy haul railways. The new type expansion device is composed of polyurethane elastomer material and named TTXF （elastomer expansion joint）. In theory, researchers find out expansion joint deformation regularity between adjacent bridge spans through theoretical analysis and detection in heavy haul railways, such as Datong-Qinhuangdao Railway and Shenchi-Huanghua Port Railway. Fatigue tests prove that TTXF can adapt to permanent and dynamic deformation. On the other hand, it has been successfully applied in the test section of Central South of Shanxi Railway Passage and continuous monitoring has been conducted in extreme weather for over one year. The expansion joint has a good effect practically.

Overseas operations and corporate financial asset allocation

Using data on Chinese listed companies for 2008-2018,we find that firms participating in overseas operations,proxied by overseas subsidiaries,generally have higher financial asset allocations than other *** the micro level,the effects are more pronounced when the parent company faces serious financing constraints,has no overseas returned executives,has a business that is inconsistent with that of its overseas subsidiaries and has overseas subsidiaries that experience *** the macro level,the effects are more pronounced when overseas operations are in OECD and Belt and Road countries,or in areas with higher economic or political risks and greater investment opportu*** asset allocation helps mitigate cash flow fluctuations and operational risks for multinational *** study advances research on the determinants of financial asset allocation and has implications relevant to the Chinese government’s“Go Global”and Belt and Road strategies and its efforts to realize a developed financial sector to service the Chinese economy.

Two 3d-4f-5d heterometallic cluster-containing polyoxometalates,formulated as Na_(22){(SbW_(9)O_(33))_(4)[La_(3)W_(6)MO_(18)(H_(2)O)_(8)(CH_(3)COO)_(4)]_(2)}·nH_(2)O(abbreviated as La_(6)M_(2),M=Co/Mn)were synthesized and structurally ***-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses reveal that the polyanions of La_(6)Co_(2)and La_(6)Mn_(2)consist of the uncommon 3d-4f-5d clusters{La_(6)W_(12)Co_(2)}and{La_(6)W_(12)Mn_(2)},which are encapsulated by four trilacunary Keggin tungstoantimonates to form the parallelogram-shaped title ***,the polyanions can be extended into a two-dimensional(2D)frame by the linkage of peripheral Na+*** inner space of the 2D layer was filled with water molecules and thus an H-bonded network was formed,which is expected to exhibit a fascinating proton *** study of water-assisted proton conduction demonstrated that La_(6)Co_(2)and La_(6)Mn_(2)were temperature-and humiditydependent proton conductors,respectively,and the proton conductivities could reach 1.3×10^(-2)and 2.3×10^(-2)S/cm at 65℃and 90%RH conditions.

Revealing interfacial charge redistribution of homologous Ru-RuS_(2) heterostructure toward robust hydrogen oxidation reaction

Precisely tailoring the surface electronic structures of electrocatalysts for optimal hydrogen binding energy and hydroxide binding energy is vital to improve the sluggish kinetics of hydrogen oxidation reac-tion(HOR).Herein,we employ a partial desulfurization strategy to construct a homologous Ru-RuS_(2) heterostructure anchored on hollow mesoporous carbon nanospheres(Ru-RuS_(2)@C).The disparate work functions of the heterostructure contribute to the spontaneous formation of a unique built-in electric field,accelerating charge transfer and boosting conductivity of ***,Ru-RuS_(2)@C exhibits robust HOR electrocatalytic activity,achieving an exchange current density and mass activity as high as 3.56 mA cm^(-2) and 2.13 mAμg_(Ru)^(-1),*** those of state-of-the-art Pt/C and most contemporary Ru-based HOR ***,Ru-RuS_(2)@C can tolerate 1000 ppm of cO that lacks in Pt/*** analysis reveals that the directional electron transfer across Ru-RuS_(2) heterointerface induces local charge redistribution in interfacial region,which optimizes and balances the adsorption energies of H and OH species,as well as lowers the energy barrier for water formation,thereby promoting theHoR performance.
