Vaccines have proven effective in protecting populations against COVID-1.,including the recombinant COVID-1. vaccine(Sf9 cells),the first approved recombinant protein vaccine in *** this positive-controlled trial with 85 adult participants(Sf9 cells group:n=44;CoronaVac group:n=41.,we evaluated the safety,immunogenicity,and protective effectiveness of a heterologous boost with the Sf9 cells vaccine in adults who had been vaccinated with the inactivated vaccine,and found a post-booster adverse events rate of 2..45%in the Sf9 cells group and 31.71.in the CoronaVac group(p=0.2.9),within 2. days after booster *** group reported any severe adverse *** the Sf9 cells vaccine booster,the geometric mean titer(GMT)of binding antibodies to the receptor-binding domain of prototype SARS-CoV-2.on day 2. post-booster was significantly higher than that induced by the CoronaVac vaccine booster(1.0,683.37 vs.9,451.69,p1..In the Sf9 cells group,GMTs of neutralizing antibodies against pseudo SARS-CoV-2.viruses(prototype and diverse variants of concern[VOCs])increased by 2..2.–75.93 folds from baseline to day 2. post-booster,while the CoronaVac group showed increases of only 3.2.–1..70 ***,neutralizing antibodies against live SARS-CoV-2.viruses(prototype and diverse VOCs)increased by 68.1.–1.2.67 folds on day 1. post-booster compared with the baseline level,significantly greater than the CoronaVac group(1..67–37.67 folds).A more robust Th1.cellular response was observed with the Sf9 cells booster on day 1. post-booster(mean IFN-γ+spot-forming cells per 2.1.5 peripheral blood mononuclear cells:2..66 vs.1..59).Protective effectiveness against symptomatic COVID-1. was approximately twice as high in the Sf9 cells group compared to the CoronaVac group(68.1.%vs.36.59%,p=0.004).Our study findings support the high protective effectiveness of heterologous boosting with the recombinant COVID-1. vaccine(Sf9 cells)against symptomatic COVID-1. of dive

Reasonable nitrogen(N) application is a promising strategy for reducing crop cadmium(Cd) toxicity. However, the specific form of N and the required amount that affect Cd tolerance and accumulation in rice remain unclear. This study explored the influence of different N-fertilizer forms(NH_(4)NO_(3), NH_4Cl, and KNO_(3)) and dosages on Cd tolerance and uptake in Cd-stressed N-sensitive and N-insensitive indica rice accessions. The results indicated that the Cd tolerance of N-sensitive indica accessions is more robust than that of N-insensitive ones. Furthermore, the shoot Cd content and Cd translocation rate in both N-sensitive and N-insensitive indica accessions decreased with an appropriate supply of NH_(4)NO_(3) and NH_4Cl, whereas they were comparable or slightly increased with increased KNO_(3). Unfortunately, we did not find significant and regular differences in Cd accumulation or translocation between N-sensitive and N-insensitive rice accessions. Consistent with the reduction of shoot Cd content, the addition of NH_(4)NO_(3) and NH_4Cl also inhibited the instantaneous root Cd^(2.) uptake. The expression changes of Cd transport-related genes under different N forms and dosages suggested that the decreased shoot Cd content, caused by the increased supply of NH_(4)NO_(3) and NH_4Cl, is likely achieved by reducing the transcription of OsNRAMP1.and OsIRT1. In summary, our findings reveal that an appropriate supply of NH_(4)NO_(3) and NH_4Cl could reduce Cd uptake and transport in rice seed{2.s, suggesting that rational N management could reduce the Cd risk in rice production.

The boundary between lithosphere and asthenosphere essentially represents a thermal boundary (the solidus). Temperature variation across this boundary can lead to the change of lithosphere thickness. In the case of elevated temperatures in a lithospheric layer above 1.2.0℃, partial melting will begin and the result of that is a thinned lithosphere. The other mechanism that can also thin lithosphere is extension. Stretching during an extension event can result in a thinner and longer lithosphere. The two mechanisms above are the reason why we can alserve large variations in lithosphere thickness spatially across various continents and temporally throughout the geological history.

Miocene Bahean stratigraphy in the Longzhong Basin, northern central china and its implications in environmental change

Fossil mammal-riched Neogene strata are widely distributed in the southeast corner of the huge Longzhong Basin at Tianshui, Gansu Province, northern central china. Hipparion weihoense, a typical member of late Middle Miocene Bahean stage, was recently excavated at Yaodian along a well-exposed outcrop. Owing to the importance of the Bahean stage in the mammalian evolution and its potential for environmental change, we suggested a name of Yaodian Formation for the stratigra- phy, which is correlated to the Bahe Formation at Lantian, Shaanxi. High resolution paleomagnetic dating of the section shows that the Yaodian Formation covers the period between 1..67 Ma and 7.43 Ma, with the site bearing Hipparion weihoense being estimated at about 1..54―1..30 Ma, providing first magnetostratigraphic chronology for the Bahean Stage. The Yaodian Formation consists of fluvial channel deposits (1..67―1..40 Ma) at the bottom, floodplain deposits in the middle (1..40―9.2. Ma) and shallow lake sediments at the top (9.2.―7.43 Ma). This upward fining sequence suggests that the relief in nearby mountain ranges such as West Qin{1. to the south and Huajia {1. to the north was greatly reduced after long-term denudation, fluvial transport capacity was low, and finally the drainage system was disintegrated, replaced with broad-shallow lakes in which only fine sediments like mud and marlite were deposited, indicating an old stage of development of a planation surface. A remarkable shift in ecology and climatic environment was found at 7.4―7.7 Ma when paleoclimate changed from early warm humid to late dry as indicated by sedimentary facies changed from early shallow lake sequence to late eolian red clays and a former coniferous-deciduous mixed forest was replaced by grassland, leading to great growth of Hipparion Fauna of Baodean stage in the region. Allocation of grid resources aims at improving resource utility and grid application performance. Currently, the algorithms proposed for this purpose do not fit well the autonomic, dynamic, distributive and heterogeneous features of the grid environment. According to MAS （multi-agent system） cooperation mechanism and market bidding game rules, a model of allocating allocation of grid resources based on market economy is introduced to reveal the relationship between supply and demand. This model can make good use of the studying and negotiating ability of consumers＇ agent and takes full consideration of the consumer＇s behavior, thus rendering the application and allocation of resource of the consumers rational and valid. In the meantime, the utility function of consumer is given; the existence and the uniqueness of Nash equilibrium point in the resource allocation game and the Nash equilibrium solution are discussed. A dynamic game algorithm of allocating grid resources is designed. Experimental results demonstrate that this algorithm diminishes effectively the unnecessary latency, improves significantly the smoothness of response time, the ratio of throughput and resource utility, thus rendering the supply and demand of the whole grid resource reasonable and the overall grid load balanceable.

To the Editor:Medicinal plants have the ability to synthesize a large number of pharmaceutical metabolites,the production and regulation of which are influenced by both intrinsic signals(e.g.,the spatial and temporal stage)and extrinsic environmental conditions(e.g.,temperature,light availability,and water availability)*** to the Encyclopedia of DNA Elements(ENCODE)project2.accessible chromatin regions(ACRs)served essential roles in maintaining the genome architecture and gene regulation in both mammals and ***,identifying ACRs within medicinal plant genomes remains a challenge,as genomic sequences have been determined for numerous species yet the characterization of such functional elements *** this study,we selected Andrographis paniculata(APA)3 as a model system to map ACRs genome-wide by the assay for transposase-accessible chromatin with sequencing(ATAC-seq)*** aimed to uncover the genomic features of ACRs as well as their association with the expression of genes involved in secondary metabolite biosynthesis(e.g.,andrographolide)within medicinal plants(Supporting Information Fig.S1..
