The advantages of a flat-panel X-ray source(FPXS)make it a promising candidate for imaging *** imaging-system modeling and projection simulation are critical for analyzing imaging performance and resolving overlapping projection issues in *** conventional analytical ray-tracing approach is limited by the number of patterns and is not applicable to FPXS-projection ***,the computation time of Monte Carlo(MC)simulation is independent of the size of the patterned arrays in *** study proposes two high-efficiency MC projection simulators for FPXS:a graphics processing unit(GPU)-based phase-space sampling MC(gPSMC)simulator and GPU-based fluence sampling MC(gFSMC)*** two simulators comprise three components:imaging-system modeling,photon initialization,and physical-interaction simulations in the ***-system modeling was performed by modeling the FPXS,imaging geometry,and *** gPSMC simulator samples the initial photons from the phase space,whereas the gFSMC simulator performs photon initialization from the calculated energy spectrum and fluence *** entire process of photon interaction with the geometry and arrival at the detector was simulated in parallel using multiple GPU kernels,and projections based on the two simulators were *** accuracies of the two simulators were evaluated by comparing them with the conventional analytical ray-tracing approach and acquired projections,and the efficiencies were evaluated by comparing the computation *** results of simulated and realistic experiments illustrate the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed gPSMC and gFSMC simulators in the projection calculation of various phantoms.

Cohort evidence linking long-term survival of older adults with exposure to fine particulate matter (PM2.5) constituents remains scarce in *** constructing a dynamic cohort based on the Chinese Longitudinal Healthy Longevity Study,we aimed to assess the individual and joint associations of major PM2.5constituents with all-cause death in Chinese oldest-old （≥80 years） ***-dependent Cox proportional hazards models were adopted to estimate death risks of long-term exposure to *** 14,884 participants,totaling 56,3.2 person-years of follow-up,12,3.6 deaths were *** highest mortality risk associated with an interquartile range（IQR） increase in exposure was 1.081 （95%confidence interval[CI]:1.055–1.108） for sulfate (IQR=4.1μg m–3.,followed by 1.078 （95%CI:1.056–1.101） for black carbon (IQR=1.6μg m–3.,1.056 （95%CI:1.028–1.084） for ammonium (IQR=3.2μg m–3.,1.050 （95%CI:1.021–1.080） for nitrate (IQR=5.8μg m–3.,and 1.049 （95%CI:1.024–1.074） for organic matter (IQR=10.3.g m–3..In joint exposure,each IQR-equivalent rise of all five PM2.5constituents was associated with an 8.2%（95%CI:4.0%–12.6%） increase in mortality *** weight analysis indicated the predominant role of sulfate and black carbon in driving PM2.5-related *** （aged 80–89 years） and rural dwellers were at significantly greater risk of mortality from individual and joint exposures to *** study suggests that later-life exposure to PM2.5constituents,particularly sulfate and black carbon,may curtail long-term survival of the oldest-old in china.
