MOF and its derivative materials modified lithium-sulfur battery separator:a new means to improve performance

In recent years,lithium-sulfur batteries(LSBs)are considered as one of the most promising new generation energies with the advantages of high theoretical speeific capacity of sulfur(1675 mAh·g^(-1)),abundant sulfur resources,and environmental friendliness storage technologies,and they are receiving wide attention from the ***,the problems of the shuttle effect and lithium dendrite growth in LSBs have limited their practical application,so there is a need to find ways to solve these *** is an excellent choice to use novel materials to modify battery *** those novel materials,the metal-organic framework(MOF)has the properties of regular pores and controllable *** applied as a positive electrode and diaphragm,it can restrain the shuttle effect and lithium dendrite growth,especially since it shows excellent performance in diaphragm ***,various design strategies and synthesis methods of MOF-modified separators are reviewed in this paper,and the applications of MOF in LSBs separators in different forms are introduced,including the composite of MOF and carbon-based materials,the compounding of MOF and polymer,self-carbonization to form MOF-derived *** the same time,different characterization techniques are systematically reviewed to obtain the physical and chemical properties of MOF particles and the working mechanism of MOF-modified diaphragm,which provides a basis for further research in this ***,some future research trends and directions are put forward to fully tap the future commercial potential of MOF-modified diaphragm in LSBs.

Study on Defects in Fe-Doped SrTiO3 by Positron Annihilation Lifetime Spectroscopy

SrTi1-xFexO3-δ ceramics were prepared using a traditional solid-state reaction method. From X-ray diffraction(XRD) result, we found that the doped Fe^3+ dissolved in the lattice, and no secondary phase was observed. Cation vacancies in perovskite oxides were identified via positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy(PALS) measurements. Undoped and Fe-doped SrTiO3 ceramics and single-crystal SrTiO3 were measured by PALS at room temperature. The results show that the main defects in undoped SrTiO3 ceramics are Ti-related defects, and the isolated Ti vacancy lifetime is about 183.4 ps. With the increase of Fe^3+, the concentration of the Ti vacancies decreases accompanied by the appearance of the V^nSr-nV^**O(defect association of Sr vacancies and multiple O vacancies) vacancy defect complexes.

Negative thermal expansion(NTE) behavior has roused wide interest for the control of thermomechanical properties of functional *** NTE behaviors have been found in kinds of compounds,it remains challenging for polymers to achieve intrinsic NTE *** this work,we systematically studied the conformational change of dibenzocyclooctadiene(DBCOD) derivatives between chair(C) and twist-boat(TB) forms based on density-functional theo ry(DFT) calculations,and found clear evidence of the relationship between the structure of DBCOD units and the thermal contraction behavior of the related *** order to obtain the polymer with NTE property,two conditions should be met for the thermal contracting DBCOD related units as follows:(i) the TB conformation can turn into C conformation as the temperature increases,and(ii) the volume of C conformation is smaller than that of TB *** rule should offer a guidance to exploration of the new intrinsic NTE polymers in the future.

Effect of Initial Concentrations on Solidification of Ammonium Chloride Water Solution

The effect of initial concentrations on solidification of ammonium chloride water solution is numerically investi- gated in *** solidifying process,with the cold wall temperature lower than the eutectic temperature,is assumed to be one-dimensional,and controlled by heat conduction *** simulation reveals that:(1)The solid-mush interface grows in a linear manner,while the growth rate of the mush-liquid interface decreases in a parabolic manner,with increasing initial concentrations.(2)The temperature field in the whole region has parabolic characteristics,but it shows a linear feature in the solid zone and mushy zone.(3)The concentration always has linear characteristics in the mush.(4)The solid fraction distribution is strongly affected by the ini- tial *** solidification process shows quite different features,especially at small and high initial concentrations.

This article presents a techno-economic evaluation of various options for recovery and reuse of low temperature heat(LTH) with temperatures below 350°C. A process integration approach has been applied to illustrate the investment strategies for a typical European integrated steel plant towards positive energy and environmental effects. The modelling results indicate a realistic CO reduction potential of 0.32%-1.5% and an energy saving potential of 0.36%-2.5% by LTH reuse on a steel production site with the pay-back time below three years. The results are only valid for the simulated generic site. For the results implementation at real steel plants, local boundary conditions should be considered.

BACKGROUND Regenerating gene 4(REG4)has been proved to be carcinogenic in some cancers,but its manifestation and possible carcinogenic mechanisms in colorectal cancer(CRC)have not yet been *** previous study found that the drug resistance of CRC cells may be closely linked to their fat *** To explore the role of REG4 in CRC and its association with lipid droplet formation and *** We conducted a meta-analysis and bioinformatics and pathological analyses of REG4 expression in *** effects of REG4 on the phenotypes and related protein expression were also investigated in CRC *** detected the impacts of REG4 on the chemoresistance and lipid droplet formation in CRC ***,we analyzed how REG4 regulated the transcription and proteasomal degradation of lipogenic enzymes in CRC *** Compared to normal mucosa,REG4 mRNA expression was high in CRC(P<0.05)but protein expression was *** inverse correlation existed between lymph node and distant metastases,tumor-node-metastasis staging or short overall survival and REG4 mRNA overexpression(P<0.05),but vice versa for REG4 protein ***4-related genes included:Chemokine activity;taste receptors;protein-DNA and DNA packing complexes;nucleosomes and chromatin;generation of second messenger molecules;programmed cell death signals;epigenetic regulation and DNA methylation;transcription repression and activation by DNA binding;insulin signaling pathway;sugar metabolism and transfer;and neurotransmitter receptors(P<0.05).REG4 exposure or overexpression promoted proliferation,antiapoptosis,migration,and invasion of DLD-1 cells in an autocrine or paracrine manner by activating the epidermal growth factor receptor-phosphoinositide 3-kinase-Akt-nuclear factor-κB ***4 was involved in chemoresistance not through de novo lipogenesis,but lipid droplet ***4 inhibited the transcription of acetyl-CoA carboxylase 1(ACC1)and ATP-citrate lyase(ACLY)by disas

Te0.045S0.955PAN composite with high average discharge voltage for Li–S battery

As a sulfur-containing cathode material,sulfide polyacrylonitrile(SPAN)is expected to be used for longlife lithium-sulfur battery because there is no shuttle effect occurred in its charge ***,its specific capacity and discharge potential need to be further improved to satisfy the urgent demands for high-performance *** this paper,Te0.045S0.955PAN composite was synthesized by co-heating TexS1-x and PAN,and the superior electrochemical performance to that of SPAN was obtained because of doping Te with high *** as-prepared Te0.045S0.955PAN composite possessed the specific capacity of 675 mAh g^-1 after 100 cycles at the current density of 0.1 A g^-1 with high capacity retention of96.6%compared to the second ***,during cycling,Te0.045S0.955PAN showed average discharge voltages of 1.88-1.91 V,which were higher than 1.85-1.88 V for SPAN at the same current *** doping Te provides a new strategy for increasing the energy density of SPAN.
