A balanced consumption of various types of food items plays a crucial role in students’physical and intellectual development,providing the foundation for their lifelong health(1).In recent years,the living standards in China have improved,leading to a steady improvement in the intake of various foods among Chinese students(2).However,uneven socioeconomic development and differing natural environments may lead to disparities in food consumption between rural and urban students(3).The prevalence of malnutrition among rural students has decreased but remains higher than among urban students(4).Furthermore,consumption of various healthy foods increased during the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic as a means to boost immunity and promote health(5).

Ulcerative colitis(UC)is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease characterized by persistent inflammation of the colon and disrupted intestinal *** mori(Sangzhi)alkaloids(SZ-A),derived from twigs of mulberry,were approved by the National Medical Products Administration in 2020 for treating type 2 diabetes *** evidence has confirmed that SZ-A also alleviates non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and ameliorates inflammation,indicating its potential to address inflammation in ***,the treatment of UC faces challenges due to low drug delivery efficiency and short retention *** overcome these challenges,an injectable and adherent in-situ thermo-sensitive hydrogel containing SZ-A was developed for rectal drug delivery,utilizing the thermo-sensitive polymers Poloxamer 407and *** thermo-sensitive hydrogel system was designed with a moderate gelation temperature of 32±0.5℃,a short gelation time of 64 s,a p H range of 7-10,high moisturizing capability exceeding 90%,and moderate mechanical strength of 4-5 *** a rat model with UC,the in situ thermo-sensitive hydrogel significantly extended the retention time at the colonic site and enabled sustained release after rectal *** of UC were markedly reduced following rectal administration of SZ-A thermosensitive ***,the release of inflammatory factors,such as interleukin-1β(IL-1β),IL-6,IL-18,tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),and transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1),significantly decreased in the SZ-A thermo-sensitive hydrogel *** integrity of the colonic mucosal barrier was significantly enhanced following the application of SZ-A thermo-sensitive *** conclusion,rectal administration of SZ-A in situ thermo-sensitive hydrogel effectively alleviated UC symptoms,inhibited the secretion of inflammatory factors,and promoted the repair of the colonic mucosal *** approach holds promise as a potential treatment for UC.

Tumor-associated macrophages(TAMs)generally display an immunosuppressive M2 phenotype and promote tumor progression and metastasis,suggesting their potential value as a target in cancer *** acid(CHA)has been identified as a potent immunomodulator that promotes the polarization of TAMs from an M2 to an M1 ***,rapid clearance in vivo and low tumor accumulation have compromised the immunotherapeutic efficacy of CHA in clinical *** this study,mannosylated liposomes are developed for targeted delivery of CHA to *** immunoregulatory effects of CHA,along with the overall antitumor efficacy of CHA-encapsulated mannosylated liposomes,are investigated through in vitro and in vivo *** prepared CHA-encapsulated mannosylated liposomes exhibit an ideal particle size,favorable stability,and preferential accumulation in tumors via the mannose receptor-mediated TAMs-targeting ***,CHA-encapsulated mannosylated liposomes inhibit G422 glioma tumor growth by efficiently promoting the polarization of the pro-tumorigenic M2 phenotype to the anti-tumorigenic M1 ***,these findings indicate that CHA-encapsulated mannosylated liposomes have great potential to enhance the immunotherapeutic efficacy of CHA by inducing a shift from the M2 to the M1 phenotype.

Comparative transcriptional profiling under drought stress between upland and lowland rice (Oryza sativa L.) using cDNA-AFLP

The continuous growth of lowland rice (LR) in paddy fields supplied with enough water over the years, and of upland rice (UR) in naturally rain-fed soils, has resulted in greater resistance to drought stress in UR compared to LR. To elucidate their differential regulation mechanisms of drought-resistance, genome-wide transcript regulation under drought stress in UR and LR was investigated using cDNA-AFLP. The results indicated that over 90% of gene expression was not affected by drought stress in the two rice genotypes, more than 8% was regulated by drought stress in both, and less than 1% was specifically expressed in UR or LR. Fifty-seven genes were specifically expressed in UR and thirty-eight specifically in LR. Genes specifically expressed in UR included cell rescue and defence genes functioning in drought-resistance, signal transduction molecules, nucleotides and amino acid biosynthesis genes required for plant growth, and the regulatory genes for growth and development. In LR, genes specifically expressed were related to protein and nucleotide degradation. Some genes were upregulated earlier in UR, and downregulated genes were inclined to be downregulated earlier in UR compared to LR, implying that more rapid regulation mechanisms caused earlier responses of UR to drought stress. Expression levels of upregulated genes in UR were higher than those in LR. The differences in gene expression between UR and LR could account for stronger regulation ability, more drought-resistance and superior growth of UR under drought stress compared to LR.

Influenza is a persistent threat to human health and there is a continuing requirement for updating antiinfluenza strategies. Initiated by observations of different endoplasmic reticulum(ER) responses of host to seasonal H1N1 and highly pathogenic avian influenza(HPAI) A H5N1 infections, we identified an alternative antiviral role of tauroursodeoxycholic acid(TUDCA), a clinically available ER stress inhibitor, both in vitro and in vivo. Rather than modulating ER stress in host cells, TUDCA abolished the proton conductivity of viral M2 by disrupting its oligomeric states, which induces inefficient viral infection. We also showed that M2 penetrated cells, whose intracellular uptake depended on its proton channel activity,an effect observed in both TUDCA and M2 inhibitor amantadine. The identification and application of TUDCA as an inhibitor of M2 proton channel will expand our understanding of IAV biology and complement current anti-IAV arsenals.

The prevalence of childhood overweight and obesity has been increasing rapidly worldwide(1).In the 2020 Report on Chinese Residents’Chronic Diseases and Nutrition,the rates of overweight and obesity among Chinese children aged 6–17 years were reported to be 11.1%and 7.9%,*** obesity is associated with both physical and mental health problems during childhood,as well as a range of noncommunicable diseases in adulthood,such as cardiovascular diseases,hypertension,and Type II diabetes(2–3).

High purity Fe3O4 /helical carbon nanofiber composites were obtained on a large scale by the catalytic pyrolysis of ferrocene in the presence of tin powder at 500°C over 12 h. The sizes of Fe 3 O 4 nanoparticles are 35–65 nm in size, and the diameters of the helical carbon nanofibers range from 40–70 nm. The shapes and compositions of the nanocomposites are simply controlled by adjusting the reaction temperatures. On the basis of the obtained experimental results the formation of the helical Fe3O4/carbon nanofiber composites was investigated and discussed. The magnetic hysteresis loop of the products shows ferromagnetic behavior with saturation magnetization (M s ), remanent magnetization (M r ) and coercivity (H c ) values of ca. 29.8 emu/g, 9.6 emu/g and 306.6 Oe, respectively.

A deep learning method for predicting oil field production at ultra-high water cut stage from the existing oil field production data was presented,and the experimental verification and application effect analysis were carried *** the traditional Fully Connected Neural Network(FCNN)is incapable of preserving the correlation of time series data,the Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM)network,which is a kind of Recurrent Neural Network(RNN),was utilized to establish a model for oil field production *** this model,oil field production can be predicted from the relationship between oil production index and its influencing factors and the trend and correlation of oil production over *** data of a medium and high permeability sandstone oilfield in China developed by water flooding was used to predict its production at ultra-high water cut stage,and the results were compared with the results from the traditional FCNN and water drive characteristic *** LSTM based on deep learning has higher precision,and gives more accurate production prediction for complex time series in oil field *** LSTM model was used to predict the monthly oil production of another two oil *** prediction results are good,which verifies the versatility of the method.

Hard carbons as promising anode materials for Na-ion batteries(NIBs) have captured extensive attention because of their low operation voltage, easy synthesis process, and competitive specific capacity. However, there are still several disadvantages, such as high cost and low initial coulombic efficiency, which limit their large-scale commercial ***, pine nut shells(PNSs), a low-cost biomass waste, are used as precursors to prepare hard carbon materials. Via a series of washing and heat treatment procedures, a pine nut shell hard carbon(PNSHC)-1400 sample has been obtained and delivers a reversible capacity of around 300 mAh/g, a high initial coulombic efficiency of 84%, and good cycling performance. These excellent Na storage properties indicate that PNSHC is one of the most promising candidates of hard carbon anodes for NIBs.
