Wind tunnel experimental study on droplet drift reduction by a conical electrostatic nozzle for pesticide spraying

Droplet drift wastes pesticide,pollutes the environment,and has become one of the focus issues of agricultural crop *** spray technology reduces drift to a certain *** order to investigate the droplet drift pattern of a conical electrostatic nozzle,the droplet drift mass center distance was defined as an experimental index and used to conduct experimental wind tunnel studies on droplet drift.A mathematical model of the droplet drift mass center distance versus electrostatic voltage and wind speed was created via the regression *** test results showed that the electrostatic voltage had an insignificant effect on droplet drift,the wind speed and its interaction with the electrostatic voltage had significant effects on droplet *** the wind speed was less than 3 m/s and stable,the crop adsorbability of a droplet had a dominant effect on the droplet drift;the droplet drift decreased with the increase of electrostatic *** the wind speed exceeded 3 m/s and was stable,the reduced droplet particle size had a dominant effect on droplet drift,where droplet drift increased as the electrostatic voltage *** the wind speed was 0 m/s and the electrostatic voltage was 12 kV,the minimum droplet drift mass center distance was 35.5 mm,which was 56 mm less than that of conventional nozzle droplet ***,a conical electrostatic nozzle is inapplicable for operation in an environment where wind speeds exceed 3 m/*** study provides a reference for optimizing operational parameters of conical electrostatic nozzles and improving the anti-drift capability of droplets.

Ultrathin,patterned,conducting metallic fibers have been extensively studied as building blocks in flexible ***,their scalable processing and attainment of patterns at room temperature is *** this paper,we report on the patterning of ultra-long silver submicron fibers as woven mesh through the process of continuous draw spinning in the presence of ultraviolet(UV)*** silver fibers can be directly intertwined on flexible substrates,such as polyethylene terephthalate(PET)and polyimide(PI).The as obtained silver submicron fiber mesh present excellent photoelectric properties(T=90%,R=9Ωsq^(−1))and outstanding flexibility and can be easily transferred on other *** demonstrate its application,flexible electrochromic smart window and infrared stealth film have been prepared.

Per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances(PFASs)are emerging persistent organic pollutants(POPs).In this study,47 surface sediment samples were collected from the Yellow River Delta wetland(YRDW)to investigate the occurrence,spatial distribution,potential sources,and ecological risks of ***-three out of 26 targeted PFASs were detected in surface sediment samples from the YRDW,with totalΣ23PFASs concentrations ranging from 0.23 to 16.30 ng g^(-1) dw and a median value of 2.27 ng g^(-1) *** acid(PFOA),perfluorobutanoic acid(PFBA)and perfluorooctanesulfonic acid(PFOS)were the main *** detection frequency and concentration of perfluoroalkyl carboxylic acids(PFCAs)were higher than those of perfluoroal-kanesulfonic acids(PFSAs),while those of long-chain PFASs were higher than those of short-chain *** emerging PFASs substitutes were dominated by 6:2 chlorinated polyfluoroalkyl ether sulfonic acid(6:2 Cl-PFESA).The distribution of PFASs is significantly influenced by the total organic carbon content in the *** concentration of PFASs seems to be related to human activities,with high concentration levels of PFASs near locations such as beaches and *** using a positive matrix factorization model,the potential sources of PFASs in the region were identified as metal plating mist inhibitor and fluoropolymer manufacturing sources,metal plating industry and firefighting foam and textile treatment sources,and food packaging material *** risk assessment indicated that PFASs in YRDW sediments do not pose a significant ecological risk to benthic organisms in the region overall,but PFOA and PFOS exert a low to moderate risk at individual stations.

In response to competition for light from their neighbors,shade-intolerant plants flower precociously to ensure reproductive success and ***,the molecular mechanisms underlying this key developmental switch are not well ***,we show that a pair of Arabidopsis transcription factors essential for phytochrome A signaling,FAR-RED ELONGATED HYPOCOTYL3(FHY3)and FAR-RED IMPAIRED RESPONSE1(FAR1),regulate flowering time by integrating environmental light signals with the miR156-SPL module-mediated aging *** found that FHY3 and FAR1 directly interact with three flowering-promoting SQUAMOSA-PROMOTER BINDING PROTEIN-LIKE(SPL)transcription factors,SPL3,SPL4,and SPL5,and inhibit their binding to the promoters of several key flowering regulatory genes,including FRUITFUL(FUL),LEAFY(LFY),APETALA1(AP1),and MIR172C,thus downregulating their transcript levels and delaying *** simulated shade conditions,levels of SPL3/4/5 proteins increase,whereas levels of FHY3 and FAR1 proteins decline,thus releasing SPL3/4/5 from FHY3/FAR1 inhibition to allow activation of FUL,LFY,AP1,and MIR172C and,consequently,early *** together,these results unravel a novel mechanism whereby plants regulate flowering time by integrating environmental cues(such as light conditions)and an internal developmental program(the miR156-SPL module-mediated aging pathway).

Processing Nomex Nanofibers by Ionic Solution Blow‑Spinning for Efficient High‑Temperature Exhausts Treatment

Hard-to-dissolve polymers provide next-generation alternatives for high-performance filter materials owing to their intrin-sically high chemical stability,superior mechanical performance,and excellent high-temperature ***,the mass production of hard-to-dissolve nanofibers still remains a critical challenge.A simple,scalable,and low-cost ionic solu-tion blow-spinning method has herein been provided for the large-scale preparation of hard-to-dissolve Nomex polymeric nanofibers with an average diameter of nearly 100 *** rapidly dissolving Nomex microfibers in the lithium chloride/dimethylacetamide(LiCl/DMAc)solution system,the conductive solution can be stably and conductivity-independently processed into *** method optimizes electrospinning and avoids spinnability degradation and potential safety hazards caused by high electrical *** to nanofibrous structure and high dipole moment,Nomex nanofibrous filters show a stable high filtration efficiency of 99.92%for PM_(0.3) with a low areal density of 4.6 g m^(-2),as well as a low-pressure drop of 189.47 ***,the flame-retardant filter can work at 250°C and 280°C for a long and short time without shrinking or burning,respectively,exhibiting a high filtration efficiency of 99.50%for PM_(0.3-10.0).The outstanding properties and low cost enable the efficient capture of PM from various high-temperature exhausts,making Nomex nanofi-brous membrane an even more ideal industrial-grade air filter than polypropylene,polytetrafluoroethylene,polyimide,and ceramic nanofibrous filters.

Pre-stack inversion for caved carbonate reservoir prediction:A case study from Tarim Basin,China

The major storage space types in the carbonate reservoir in the Ordovician in the TZ45 area are secondary dissolution *** the prediction of caved carbonate reservoir,post-stack methods are commonly used in the oilfield at present since pre-stack inversion is always limited by poor seismic data quality and insufficient logging *** this paper,based on amplitude preserved seismic data processing and rock-physics analysis,pre-stack inversion is employed to predict the caved carbonate reservoir in TZ45 area by seriously controlling the quality of inversion *** procedures mainly include angle-gather conversion,partial stack,wavelet estimation,low-frequency model building and inversion residual *** amplitude-preserved data processing method can achieve high quality data based on the principle that they are very consistent with the ***,the foundation of pre-stack inversion and reservoir prediction criterion can be established by the connection between reservoir property and seismic reflection through rock-physics ***,the inversion result is consistent with drilling wells in most *** is concluded that integrated with amplitude-preserved processing and rock-physics,pre-stack inversion can be effectively applied in the caved carbonate reservoir prediction.

This work investigates the pulsed breakdown processes and mechanisms of self-triggered preionized switches with a four-electrode structure in nitrogen through intensified charge coupled device *** diameter of the trigger plane hole mainly determines the switch’s electric field *** configurations with minimum and maximum trigger plane holes are adopted for *** the switch with a minimum trigger plane hole,the maximum electric field distributes at the surfaces of the main *** charged particles in the triggering spark channel cannot drift out,homogeneous discharges can be stimulated from both the cathode and anode surfaces through ultraviolet *** sub-gaps are likely to break down *** the switch with a maximum trigger plane hole,the maximum electric field locates near the trigger *** in both sub-gaps initiate from the trigger electrodes in the form of a positive or negative *** to the lower breakdown voltage and electric field threshold for discharge initiation,the cathode side sub-gap breaks down *** analysis of two extreme examples can be referenced in the future design and improvement of self-triggered four-electrode switches with different trigger electrode structures.

Distributed static and dynamic detection of an acoustic wave in a Brillouin random fiber laser

The interaction of random laser and gain medium is important to understand the noise origin in random fiber lasers. Here, using the optical time domain reflectometry method, the time-resolved distributed acoustic wave generated by a Brillouin random fiber laser(BRFL) is characterized. The dynamic property of the acoustic wave reflects the gain dynamics of the BRFL. The principle is based on the polarization-decoupled stimulated Brillouin scattering(SBS)-enhanced four-wave mixing process, where the probe light experiences maximum reflection when the phase match condition is satisfied. Static measurements present exponentially depleted Brillouin gain along the gain medium in the BRFL, indicating the localized random SBS frequency change in the maximum local gain region, which varies with time to contribute random laser noise as revealed in the dynamic measurement. The SBS-induced birefringence change in the Brillouin gain fiber is approximately 10^(-7) to 10^(-6). The phase noise of the BRFL is observed directly inside the random laser gain medium for the first time via time and spatially varied acoustic wave intensity. By counting the temporal intensity statistical distribution, optical rogue waves are detected near the lasing threshold of the BRFL. Different temporal intensity statistical distribution at high and low gain positions is found, which is caused by the SBS nonlinear transfer function and localized gain. The distributed characterization methods in the paper provide a new platform to study the interaction of random lasers and gain medium, giving us a new perspective to understand the fundamental physics of the random lasing process and its noise property.

Field-effect transistor memories based on ferroelectric polymers

Field-effect transistors based on ferroelectrics have attracted intensive interests, because of their non-volatile data retention, rewritability, and non-destructive read-out. In particular, polymeric materials that possess ferroelectric properties are promising for the fabrications of memory devices with high performance, low cost, and large-area manufacturing, by virtue of their good solubility, low-temperature processability, and good chemical stability. In this review, we discuss the material characteristics of ferroelectric polymers, providing an update on the current development of ferroelectric field-effect transistors（Fe-FETs） in non-volatile memory applications.
