Three-stage niobium mineralization at Bayan Obo, China

The Chinese Bayan Obo deposit is a world-class rare earth element(REE) deposit with considerable niobium(Nb) and iron(Fe) resources. A complete genetic understanding on all metals is fundamental for establishing genetic models at Bayan Obo. With extensive research being focused on REE enrichment, the timing and controls of Nb enrichment remain unresolved at Bayan Obo, which is mainly due to the challenges in dating, i.e. multistage thermal events, fine-grained minerals with complex textures and the rare occurrence of uranium-enriched minerals with mature dating methods. Based on robust geological and petrographic frameworks, here we conducted ion probe uranium-lead(U-Pb) dating of ferrocolumbite to unravel the timing, hence the genesis of Nb mineralization. Three types of hydrothermal ferrocolumbites—key Nb-bearing minerals—are identified based on their textures and mineral assemblages. They yield U-Pb ages of 1312 ± 47 Ma(n = 99), 438 ± 7 Ma(n = 93), and 268 ± 5 Ma(n = 19), respectively. In line with deposit geology, we tentatively link the first, second and third stage Nb mineralization to Mesoproterozoic carbonatite magmatism, ubiquitous early Paleozoic hydrothermal activity, and Permian granitic magmatism, respectively. While quantifying the contribution of metal endowment from each stage requires further investigation, our new dates highlight that multi-stage mineralization is critical for Nb enrichment at Bayan Obo, which may also have implications for the enrichment mechanism of Nb in REE deposits in general.

Biodegradability of Chlorinated Anilines in Waters

Objective To identify the bacteria tolerating chlorinated anilines and to study the biodegradability of o-chloroaniline and its coexistent compounds. Methods Microbial community of complex bacteria was identified by plate culture observation techniques and Gram stain method. Bacterial growth inhibition test was used to determine the tolerance of complex bacteria to toxicant. Biodegradability of chlorinated anilines was determined using domesticated complex bacteria as an inoculum by shaking-flask test. Results The complex bacteria were identified, consisting of Xanthomonas, Bacillus alcaligenes, Acinetobacter, Pseudomonas, and Actinomycetaceae nocardia. The obtained complex bacteria were more tolerant to o-chloroaniline than mixture bacteria in natural river waters. The effects of exposure concentration and inoculum size on the biodegradability of o-chloroaniline were analyzed, and the biodegradation characteristics of single o-chloroaniline and 2, 4-dichloroaniline were compared with the coexistent compounds. Conclusion The biodegradation rates can be improved by decreasing concentration of compounds and increasing inoculum size of complex bacteria. When o-chloroaniline coexists with aniline, the latter is biodegraded prior to the former, and as a consequence the metabolic efficiency of o-chloroaniline is improved with the increase of aniline concentration. Meanwhile, when o-chloroaniline coexists with 2,4-dichloroaniline, the metabolic efficiency of 2,4-dichloroaniline is markedly improved.

Background Pediatric antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody-associated vasculitis(AAV)is a life-threatening systemic vasculitis featured by liability to renal ***,there are few studies on the risk factors and predictive models for renal outcomes of AAV in *** Data from 179 AAV children in multiple centers between January 2012 and March 2020 were collected *** risk factors and predictive model of end-stage renal disease(ESRD)in AAV were *** Renal involvement was the most typical manifestation(95.5%),and the crescent was the predominant pathological lesion(84.9%).The estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR)was evaluated in 114 patients,of whom 59.6%developed ESRD,and the median time to ESRD was 3.20 *** eGFR[P=0.006,odds ratio(OR)=0.955,95%confidence interval(CI)=0.924–0.987]and the percentages of global glomerulosclerosis(pGGS;P=0.018,OR=1.060,95%CI=1.010–1.112)were independent risk factors for ESRD of renal *** on the pGGS and eGFR at renal biopsy,we developed three risk grades of ESRD and one predictive *** Kaplan‒Meier curve indicated that renal outcomes were significantly different in different risk grades(P<0.001).Compared with serum creatinine at baseline,the predictive model had higher accuracy(0.86 versus 0.58,P<0.001)and a lower coefficient of variation(0.07 versus 0.92)in external *** Renal involvement is the most common manifestation of pediatric AAV in China,of which more than half deteriorates into *** predictive model based on eGFR at renal biopsy and the pGGS may be stable and accurate in speculating the risk of ESRD in AAV children.

极化指的是波偏振的方式,是波的一个基本性质.利用波的极化可以进行信息的编码,这一编码方式在光学和声学中得到广泛应用.利用自旋波进行信息的传递和处理是磁子学的主要研究课题.然而在铁磁材料中,由于只存在右旋极化的自旋波,利用波的极化进行信息的编码在铁磁自旋波器件中始终没有实现.前期研究发现,通过自旋极化电流可以在铁磁体中产生左旋极化自旋波,从而有望实现利用极化编码的自旋波器件.然而在一个均匀磁化铁磁体中产生左旋极化自旋波所需的电流密度过大,实验上难以实现.磁畴壁可作为自旋波波导,且畴壁中自旋波的截止频率趋近于零.本文从朗道-栗弗席兹方程出发,研究了在自旋极化电流存在的条件下磁畴壁中自旋波的色散关系和传播特性,证明只需要很小的自旋极化电流就可在畴壁中产生稳定的左旋极化自旋波.微磁学模拟证明了理论分析结果.该项研究为研制基于极化编码信息的自旋波器件提供了一个实际可行的方案.

Highly Hydrolysis-Resistant Polyimide Fibers Prepared by Thermal Crosslinking with Inherent Carboxyl Groups

Easy hydrolysis in alkaline environments limits the use of polyimide fibers in environmental protection. The hydrolysis resistance levels of polyimide fibers can be improved by crosslinking of the macromolecular chains. In this work, crosslinked polyimide fibers(CPI fibers) were produced by intrinsic carboxyl decarboxylation for the first time. The thermal stability of the polyimide fibers containing the intrinsic carboxyl groups(PIC fibers) was studied, and the temperature of the decarboxylation-crosslinking reaction was determined to be 450 ℃. The PIC fibers were hotdrawn to initiate thermal crosslinking of the carboxyl groups and molecular chain orientation at high temperature. The CPI fibers had high tensile strengths(0.72-1.46 GPa) and compressive strengths(401-604 MPa). The oriented macromolecules and chemically crosslinked structure improved the tightness of the molecular chains and endowed the CPI fibers with excellent hydrolytic resistance. The CPI-50 fiber did not dissolve in a 0.5 wt% NaOH solution during heating at 90 ℃ for 10 h, and the tensile strength retention reached 87% when treated in 0.5 wt% NaOH solutions at 90 ℃ for 1 h, providing a guarantee for its application in alkaline corrosive environments.

基于随机森林与多源遥感数据的青海省降水空间分布

基于青海省56个气象站点2000-2012年平均年降水资料,在地理信息技术支持下提取由地形(T)变量(DEM、坡度、坡向、曲率、起伏度)、地表覆被(V)变量(归一化植被指数NDVI、植被初级生产力NPP)和海陆位置(L)变量(经度、纬度、经纬度乘积)等10个因子构成的协变量集,运用随机森林(Randomforest,RF)算法建立区域降水量空间预测模型。结果表明,RF算法结合多元协变量集能实现区域降水量精确预测。十折交叉验证显示,不同输入变量条件下RF拟合的降水量预测模型性能排序为:T+V+L>T+L>L>L+V>T+V>T>V,其中T+V+L和T+L模型的R2达到0.893、0.892,RMSE仅为12.31、13.55 mm,比其他模型的R2提高了0.028~0.102,RMSE降低了1.24~12.95 mm,能满足区域降水量空间精细估计。旨在为低密度气象站点分布区的降水量空间分布式信息获取提供新的技术参考。

Defects in phospholipase C zeta cause polyspermy and low fertilization after conventional IVF:not just ICSI failure

Phospholipase C zeta(PLC)is a key sperm-borne oocyte-activating factor that triggers Ca^(2+)oscillations and the subsequent block to polyspermy following gamete *** in PLCZ1,the gene encoding PLCζ,cause male infertility and intracytoplasmic sperm injection(ICSI)fertilization failure;and PLCζ expression and localization patterns are significantly correlated with ICSI fertilization rate(FR).However,in conventional in vitro fertilization(cIVF),whether and how sperm PLCζ affects fertilization remain ***,we identified one previously reported and two novel PLCZ1 mutations associated with polyspermy in vitro that are characterized by excessive sperm-zona binding and a delay in pronuclei(PN)*** staining and oocyte activation testing revealed that virtually all spermatozoa from patients lacked functional PLCζ and were thus unable to evoke Ca^(2+) *** with an artificial oocyte activation treatment successfully rescued the polyspermic phenotype and resulted in a live ***,we analyzed PLCζ in an additional 58 males after cIVF treatment in the Reproductive and Genetic Hospital of CiTiC-Xiangya(Changsha,China)between February 2019 and January *** found that the proportion of spermatozoa that expressed PLCζ was positively correlated with both 2PN rate and total *** optimal cutoff value below which males were likely to experience low FR(total FR≤30%)after clVF was 56.7%for the proportion of spermatozoa expressing *** study expands the mutation and the phenotypic spectrum of PLCZ1 and further suggests that PLCζ constitutes a promising biomarker for identifying low FRs cases in cIVF due to sperm-related oocyte activation deficiency and that sperm PLCζ analysis may benefit the widermale population and not onlymen with IcsI failure.

Solubilization of Rock Phosphate in Liquid Culture by Fungal Isolates from Rhizosphere Soil

Rock phosphate (RP) is a low efficiency P fertilizer that is directly applied to the soil and can be solubilized by phosphate-solubilizing microorganisms (PSMs) in fermentation or soil conditions. This study investigated dynamic solu- bilization of 2 concentrations of rock phosphate in a liquid culture with different dosages of glucose by two fungal isolates, Aspergillus niger P39 and Penicillium oxalicum P66, from soybean and wheat rhizosphere soil. Although during the 20 day culture period A. niger P39 had a stronger ability to acidify the culture media than P. oxalicum P66, soluble P concentrations at glucose dosages of 30 and 50 g L-1 with RP of 15 g L-1 in the culture solution were much higher by P. oxalicum P66. The greater effectiveness of P. oxalicum P66 compared to A. niger P39 in the solubilization of RP was strongly associated with the production of organic acids. This study suggested that for RP solubilization the type rather than the concentration of PSM-produced organic acids was more important.
