A novel strategy of tannery sludge disposal–converting into biochar and reusing for Cr(Ⅵ)removal from tannery wastewater

Tannery sludge with high chromium content has been identified as hazardous solid waste due to its potential toxic *** safety disposal and valorization of the tannery sludge remains a *** this study,the chromium stabilization mechanism was systematically investigated during chromium-rich tannery sludge was converted to biochar and the removal performance of the sludge biochar(SBC)for Cr(Ⅵ)from tannery wastewater was also *** results showed that increase in pyrolysis temperature was conductive to the stabilization of Cr and significant reduction of the proportion of Cr(Ⅵ)in *** was confirmed that the stabilization of chromium mainly was attributed to the embedding of chromium in the C matrix and the transformation of the chromium-containing substances from the amorphous Cr(OH)_(3)to the crystalline state,such as(FeMg)Cr_(2)O_(5).The biochar presented high adsorption capacity of Cr(Ⅵ)at low pH and the maximal theoretical adsorption capacity of SBC produced at 800°C can reach 352 mg Cr(Ⅵ)/g,the process of which can be well expressed by Langmuir adsorption isotherm and pseudo second order *** electrostatic effect and reduction reaction were dominantly responsible for the Cr(Ⅵ)adsorption by ***,this study provided a novel strategy for the harmless disposal and resource utilization for the solid waste containing chromium in leather industry.

Surface acoustic wave(SAW)resonators based on lithium tantalate(LT,LiTaO_(3))wafers are crucial elements of mobile communication *** use of intrinsic LT wafers typically brings about low fabrication accuracy of SAW resonators due to strong UV reflection in the lithography *** hinders their resonance frequency control seriously in industrial *** doping and chemical reduction could be applied to decrease the UV reflection of LT wafers for high lithographic ***,conventional methods fail to provide a fast and nondestructive approach to identify the UV performance of standard single-side polished LT wafers for highprecision frequency ***,we propose a convenient on-line sensing scheme based on the colorimetry of reduced Fe-doped LT wafers and build up an automatic testing system for industrial *** levels of Fe doping and chemical reduction are evaluated by the lightness and color difference of LT-based *** correlation between the wafer visible colorimetry and UV reflection is established to refine the lithography process and specifically manipulate the frequency performance of SAW *** study provides a powerful tool for the fabrication control of SAW resonators and will inspire more applications on sophisticated devices of mobile communication.

Atomistic mechanism of high ionic conductivity in lithium ytterbium-based halide solid electrolytes:A first-principles study

As the next generation of commercial automotive power batteries begins replacing liquid lithium batteries,many look towards all-solid-state batteries to pioneer the ***-so lid-state batteries have attracted the attention of countless researchers around the world because of their high safety and high energy *** recent times,halide solid-state electrolytes have become a research hotspot within solid-state electrolytes because of their potentially superior *** this paper,in the framework of DFT,we investigated the atomic mechanisms of improving the ionic conductivity and stability of Li_(3)YbCl_(6).Our calculations show that both trigonal and orthorhombic Li_(3)YbCl_(6) exhibit wide electrochemical windows and metastable properties(100 meV/atom>Ehull>0 meV/atom).However,the orthorhombic Li_(3)YbCl_(6) can be stabilized at high temperatures by taking the vibrational entropy into account,which is supported by the experimental ***,it is expected that because of the Yb/Li synergistic interactions that,due to their strong mutual coulomb repulsion,influence the Li^(+)transport behavior,the orthorhombic Li_(3)YbCl_(6) might have superior ionic conductivities with appropriate Li+migration paths determined by the Yb^(3+) ***,higher ionic conductivities can be obtained by regulating the random distribution of Li^(+) *** Li^(+)-deficiency can also largely increase the ionic conductivity by invoking *** study helps gain a deeper understanding of the laws that govern ionic conductivities and stabilities and provides a certain theoretical reference for the experimental development and design of halide solid-state electrolytes.

Topology optimization of chiral metamaterials with application to underwater sound insulation

chiral metamaterials have been proven to possess many appealing mechanical phenomena,such as negative Poisson's ratio,high-impact resistance,and energy *** work extends the applications of chiral metamaterials to underwater sound *** chiral metamaterials with low acoustic impedance and proper stiffness are inversely designed using the topology optimization *** acoustic impedance enables the metamaterials to have a high and broadband sound transmission loss(STL),while proper stiffness guarantees its robust acoustic performance under a hydrostatic *** proof-of-concept demonstrations,two specimens are fabricated and tested in a water-filled impedance *** results show that,on average,over 95%incident sound energy can be isolated by the specimens in a broad frequency range from 1 k Hz to 5 k Hz,while the sound insulation performance keeps stable under a certain hydrostatic *** work may provide new insights for chiral metamaterials into the underwater applications with sound insulation.

Effects of fluid therapy combined with a preoperative glucose load regimen on postoperative recovery in patients with rectal cancer

BACKGROUND Patients with rectal cancer undergoing radical resection often have poor post-operative recovery due to preoperative fasting and water deprivation and the removal of diseased tissue,and have a high risk of ***,it is of great significance to apply appropriate rehydration regimens to patients un-dergoing radical resection of rectal cancer during the perioperative period to improve the postoperative outcomes of *** To analyze the effects of goal-directed fluid therapy(GDFT)with a preoperative glucose load regimen on postoperative recovery and complications in patients undergoing radical resection for rectal *** Patients with rectal cancer who underwent radical resection(n=184)between January 2021 and December 2023 at our hospital were randomly divided into either a control group or an observation group(n=92 in each group).Both groups received a preoperative glucose load regimen,and routine fluid replacement and GDFT were additionally implements in the control and observation groups,*** operative conditions,blood levels of lactic acid and inflammatory markers,postoperative recovery,cognitive status,hemodynamic indicators,brain oxygen metabolism,and complication rates were compared between the *** The colloidal fluid dosage,total infusion,and urine volume,as well as time to first exhaust,time to food intake,and postoperative length of hospital stay,were lower in the observation group(P0.05).Compared with the control group,in the ob-servation group the lactic acid level was lower immediately after the surgery(P<0.05);the Mini-Mental State Examination score was higher on postoperative day 3(P<0.05);the pulse pressure variability(PPV)was lower at 30 min after pneumoperitone

An effective and reliable prediction of the remaining useful life(RUL)of a tool is important to a metal forming process because it can significantly reduce unexpected maintenance,avoid machine shutdowns and increase system *** study proposes a new data-driven approach to the RUL prediction for metal forming processes under multiple contact sliding *** data-driven approach took advantage of bidirectional long short-term memory(BLSTM)and convolutional neural networks(CNN).A pre-trained lightweight CNN-based network,WearNet,was re-trained to classify the wear states of workpiece surfaces with a high accuracy,then the classification results were passed into a BLSTM-based regression model as inputs for RUL *** experimental results demonstrated that this approach was able to predict the RUL values with a small error(below 5%)and a low root mean square error(RMSE)(around 1.5),which was more superior and robust than the other state-of-the-art methods.
