Assimilation of the FY-4A AGRI Clear-Sky Radiance Data in a Regional Numerical Model and Its Impact on the Forecast of the“21·7”Henan Extremely Persistent Heavy Rainfall

Assimilation of the Advanced Geostationary Radiance Imager(AGRI)clear-sky radiance in a regional model is *** forecasting effectiveness of the assimilation of two water vapor(WV)channels with conventional observations for the“21·7”Henan extremely heavy rainfall is analyzed and compared with a baseline test that assimilates only conventional observations in this *** results show that the 24-h cumulative precipitation forecast by the assimilation experiment with the addition of the AGRI exceeds 500 mm,compared to a maximum value of 532.6 mm measured by the national meteorological stations,and that the location of the maximum precipitation is consistent with the *** results for the short periods of intense precipitation processes are that the simulation of the location and intensity of the 3-h cumulative precipitation is also relatively *** analysis increment shows that the main difference between the two sets of assimilation experiments is over the ocean due to the additional ocean observations provided by FY-4A,which compensates for the lack of ocean *** assimilation of satellite data adjusts the vertical and horizontal wind fields over the ocean by adjusting the atmospheric temperature and humidity,which ultimately results in a narrower and stronger WV transport path to the center of heavy precipitation in Zhengzhou in the lower ***,the WV convergence and upward motion in the control experiment are more dispersed;therefore,the precipitation centers are also correspondingly more dispersed.

A simulation method on target strength and circular SAS imaging of Xrudder UUV including multiple acoustic scattering

Target strength(TS)and circular synthetic aperture sonar(CSAS)images provide essential information for active acoustic detection and recognition of non-cooperative unmanned undersea vehicles(UUVs),which pose a significant threat to underwater preset *** access them,we propose an iterative physical acoustics(IPA)-based method to simulate the multiple acoustic scattered fields on rigid surfaces in high-frequency *** uses the Helmholtz integral equation with an appropriate Green's function in terms of the Neumann series,and then incorporates the ideas of triangulation and iteration into a numerical *** two approximate analytic formulae with precise physical meanings are derived to predict the TS and CSAS images of concave targets,*** are no restrictions on the surface's curvature and the order of multiple *** method is validated against the finite element method(FEM)for acoustic scattering from a sphere segment and against an experiment involving an X-rudder UUV's *** this basis,we simulate and analyze the TS and CSAS images of an X-rudder *** addition,the influence of the angle of adjacent rudders on the multiple scattering characteristics is *** show that this method can potentially predict accurate UUV features,especially the multiple scattered features.

Investigation to meet China Ⅱ emission legislation for marine diesel engine with diesel methanol compound combustion technology

In order to reduce the pollutant emission and alleviate the pressure of petroleum resources shortage and greenhouse gas emission at the same time,the use of clean and renewable alternative fuel for marine engines is a promising *** this study,a marine diesel engine,which was modified to run in diesel methanol compound combustion (DMCC) mode,was *** the diesel injection parameters were calibrated,and combined with a sample after-treatment device DOC (diesel oxidation catalyst),the engine could meet the requirements of China II *** overall MSP (methanol substitute percent) reached 54.1%.The value of each pollutant emission was much lower than that in China II emission legislation,and there was almost no methanol and formaldehyde *** methanol was injected into the inlet manifold,the intake air temperature decreased a lot,as well as the exhaust gas temperature,which were beneficial to increase engine thermal efficiency and improve engine room *** with the engine running in pure diesel mode,when the engine ran in diesel/methanol dual fuel mode,the combustion phase was advanced,and the combustion duration became ***,the engine thermal efficiency increased,and fuel consumption decreased significantly.

The Moisture Structure of ISO in Western North Pacific Revealed by AIRS

Using the humidity profiles from the Atmospheric Infrared Sounder （AIRS） dataset, rainfall from the Tropical Rainfall Measuring Mission （TRMM） Global Precipitation Index （GPI）, and surface winds from QuickSCAT （QSCAT） as well as SST from the Advanced Microwave Scanning Radiometer for NASA＇s Earth Observing System （AMSR_E）, we analyzed the structure of summer intraseasonal oscillation （ISO） over the western North Pacific region in 2003-2004. We find that the signal of 20-90-day oscillations in the western North Pacific originates from the equatorial Indian Ocean, and propagates eastward to Philippine Sea and then moves northwestward to South China. The AIRS humidity data reveal that the boundarylayer moisture leads the mid-troposphere moisture during the ISO propagation. The positive SST anomaly may play an important role to moistening the boundary-layer, which preconditions the ISO propagation. Therefore, the intraseasonal SST anomaly could positively feed back to the atmosphere through moistening the boundary-layer, destabilizing the troposphere, and contributing to the northwestward propagation of the ISO in western North Pacific. On the other hand, the salient feature that the boundary-layer moisture anomaly leads mid-troposphere moisture does not exist in ECMWF/TOGA analysis.

Efficient graphene in-plane homogeneous p-n-p junction based infrared photodetectors with low dark current

Graphene-based photodetectors have drawn a large amount of interests owing to its wide spectral response,however,the high dark current greatly limits their *** this study,we develop an efficient graphene in-plane homogeneous p-n-p junction based infrared(IR) photodetector with greatly reduced dark *** devices with p-n-p junctions exhibit excellent photoresponse to 1.0～4.0 μm IR light illumination with ultra-low dark current at the order of～10-9A in double p-n-p junctions and 10-13A in three p-n-p junctions based photodetector,which is three and seven orders of magnitude lower than pristine graphene phototransistors,*** excellent IR photodetection capabilities could be attributed to the synergistic effects of in-plane photovoltaic effects as well as the photogating effects induced carrier injection from the silicon *** results suggest intriguing potential of graphene in-plane p-n-p junctions for applications in high-performance IR photodetectors.

Design of Robotic Visual Servo Control Based on Neural Network and Genetic Algorithm

A new visual servo control scheme for a robotic manipulator is presented in this paper, where a back propagation （BP） neural network is used to make a direct transition from image feature to joint angles without requiring robot kinematics and camera calibration. To speed up the convergence and avoid local minimum of the neural network, this paper uses a genetic algorithm to find the optimal initial weights and thresholds and then uses the BP Mgorithm to train the neural network according to the data given. The proposed method can effectively combine the good global searching ability of genetic algorithms with the accurate local searching feature of BP neural network. The Simulink model for PUMA560 robot visual servo system based on the improved BP neural network is built with the Robotics Toolbox of Matlab. The simulation results indicate that the proposed method can accelerate convergence of the image errors and provide a simple and effective way of robot control.

High-frequency spinal cord stimulation produces longlasting analgesic effects by restoring lysosomal function and autophagic flux in the spinal dorsal horn

High-frequency spinal cord stimulation(HF-SCS) has been established as an effective therapy for neuropathic pain. However, the analgesic mechanisms involved in HF-SCS remain to be clarified. In our study, adult rat neuropathic pain was induced by spinal nerve ligation. Two days after modeling, the rats were subjected to 4 hours of HF-SCS(motor threshold 50%, frequency 10,000 Hz, and pulse width 0.024 ms) in the dorsal horn of the spinal cord. The results revealed that the tactile allodynia of spinal nerve-injured rats was markedly alleviated by HFSCS, and the effects were sustained for 3 hours after the stimulation had ceased. HF-SCS restored lysosomal function, increased the levels of lysosome-associated membrane protein 2(LAMP2) and the mature form of cathepsin D(matu-CTSD), and alleviated the abnormally elevated levels of microtubule-associated protein 1 A/B-light chain 3(LC3)-II and sequestosome 1(P62) in spinal nerve-injured rats. HF-SCS also mostly restored the immunoreactivity of LAMP2, which was localized in neurons in the superficial layers of the spinal dorsal horn in spinal nerve-injured rats. In addition, intraperitoneal administration of 15 mg/kg chloroquine for 60 minutes reversed the expression of the aforementioned proteins and shortened the timing of the analgesic effects of HF-SCS. These findings suggest that HF-SCS may exhibit longlasting analgesic effects on neuropathic pain in rats through improving lysosomal dysfunction and alleviating autophagic flux. This study was approved by the Laboratory Animal Ethics Committee of China Medical University, Shenyang, China(approval No. 2017 PS196 K) on March 1, 2017.

Study of photometric phase curve:assuming a cellinoid ellipsoid shape for asteroid(106)Dione

We carried out new photometric observations of asteroid （106） Dione at three apparitions （2004, 2012 and 2015） to understand its basic physical properties. Based on a new brightness model, new photometric observational data and published data of （106） Dione were analyzed to characterize the morphology of Dione＇s photometric phase curve. In this brightness model, a cellinoid ellipsoid shape and three-parameter （H, G1, G2） magnitude phase function system were involved. Such a model can not only solve the phase function system parameters of （106） Dione by considering an asymmetric shape of an asteroid, but also can be applied to more asteroids, especially those without enough photometric data to solve the convex shape. Using a Markov Chain Monte Carlo （MCMC） method, Dione＇s absolute magnitude of H = 7.66＋0.03-0.03 mag, and phase function parameters G1 = 0.682＋0.077-0.077 and G2 = 0.081＋0.042-0.042 were obtained. Simultaneously, Dione＇s simplistic shape, orientation of pole and rotation period were also determined preliminarily.

The reaction of dinaphthofuran with lithium in anhydrous diethyl ether led to a solution of the corresponding C,O-dilithiated intermediate which, upon treatment with DMF at ？78 oC, afforded, after hydrolysis, 2＇-hydroxy-1,1＇-binaphthyl-2-carbaldehyde in a good yield. Then binaphthyl-bridged Schiff bases were prepared by the condensation of 2＇-hydroxy-1,1＇-binaphthyl-2-carbaldehyde with the corresponding aromatic amines.
