Dynamics of maize grain drying in the high latitude region of Northeast China

A high grain moisture content at harvest has been an important problem in the high latitude region of Northeast China, and it is closely related to the genotypes of varieties, local meteorological factors and planting management. However, delayed harvest at a low temperature could not effectively reduce the grain moisture content. In this study, we continuously observed the grain drying during the late stage of different maturing types of maize varieties in Daqing, Heilongjiang Province, China in 2016 and 2017. A two-segment linear model was used to analyze the different stages of the drying processes: 1) Twosegment linear model fitting can divide the grain drying process of all varieties into two separate linear drying processes with different slopes. 2) During the rapid drying stage, the drying was faster at a higher temperature. The rate of slow drying was influenced by air vapor pressure. 3) The moisture content and meteorological factors when the drying rate turns from one stage into the other were not consistent between varieties and years. After entering the frost period, temperatures below 0℃ will significantly reduce the rate of grain drying. 4) Due to the short growth period of early-maturing varieties, the drying time was prolonged, and the grain moisture content was lower than that of the mid-late maturing varieties. Local meteorological conditions do not allow the drying of mid-late maturing varieties to achieve a lower moisture content. When the temperature falls below 0℃, the drying rate of grain decreases markedly. Therefore, one feasible way to solve the problem of high moisture content is to replace the early-maturing varieties and implement the corresponding cultivation techniques.

Bartonella *** rod-shaped,Gram-negative,aerobic,fastidious,slow bacteria which cause diseases in humans and animals by parasitizing the endothelial and red blood cells of their hosts[1,2].Rodents are the most important natural reservoir hosts of Bartonella[3].In 57 countries,epidemiological studies of rat-borne Bartonella have been carried *** on the Bartonella infection rate in rodents has been obtained from most of these *** infection rate of rodents in Portugal,Egypt,Japan,Canada,and the United States is more than 90%,the infection rate in Thailand and russia is about 80%,and the infection rate in China is about 67%.To date,22 species of rodent-borne Bartonella have been *** these,***,*** ***,*** ***,and *** have been found to be associated with human *** become infected with rodent-borne Bartonella incidentally,especially when they are exposed to the habitats of wild rodents harboring various Bartonella *** infection can affect multiple organs and poses a risk to public health[4].

Pod shattering is an important domesticated trait which can cause great economic loss of crop yield in cultivated *** this study,we utilized two recombinant inbred line populations(RILs,CY,Huachun 2×Wayao;GB,Guizao 1×B13)to identify quantitative trait loci(QTLs)associated with pod shattering in soybean across multiple environments.A total of 14 QTLs for pod shattering were identified in the two RIL populations,which had LOD scores ranging from 2.64 to 44.33 with phenotypic variance explanation(PVE)ranging from 1.33 to 50.85%.One QTL qPS16-1,located on chromosome 16,included a well-known functional gene Pod dehiscence 1(Pdh1)that was reported *** new putative QTLs were validated in two RIL populations,and their LOD scores were between 2.55 and 4.24,explaining 1.33 to 2.60%of the phenotypic *** which four novel QTLs(qPS01-1,qPS03-2,qPS05-1,and qPS07-1)could be detected in two environments where nine genes had specific changes in gene *** the nine genes may have significant effects on pod shattering of soybean,their detailed functions still need to be further explored in the *** results of this study will facilitate a better understanding of the genetic basis of the pod shattering-resistant trait and benefit soybean molecular breeding for improving pod shattering resistance.

To identify risk factors for HIV infection among men who have sex with men （MSM） and to provide a theoretical basis for prevention interventions. Between December 2011 and August 2012, a case-control study was conducted among MSM who underwent voluntary counselling and testing for HIV. Confirmed HIV-positive MSM were included in the case group, and HIV-negative MSM were included in the control group. Information on possible risk factors was collected by a survey questionnaire and a qualitative interview. The results of a conditional logistic regression showed that the following were influencing factors for HIV infection： average monthly income between 2001 and 3000 Yuan （odds ratio （0R）=6.341, 95% Ch 1.714-12.544）, only sometimes using condoms when having anal sex with men in the last 6 months （0R=7.601, 95% Ch 1.359-23.083）, having HIV-positive sex partners （0R=5.273, 95% Ch 1.572- 17.691）, rectal trauma with bleeding in the last 6 months （0R=2.947, 95% Ch 1.308-6.638）, not using condoms at last sexual encounter （OR-- 1.278, 95% Ch 1.012-5.595）, engaging in commercial sex （0R=5.925, 95% Ch 1.923-13.890） and having more than 16 sex partners in the last 6 months （0R=1.175, 95% Ch 1.021-1.353）. These seven factors were the risk factors of HIV infection （OR〉l）. However, having anal sex less than 10 times in the previous 1 month （OR=O.O02, 95% CI： 0.000-0.287） was a protective factor against HIV infection among MSM （OR〈l）, and insertive （0R=0.116, 95% Ch 0.000-0.236）（OR〈l） anal intercourse influenced HIV infection. Interventions should be targeted at MSM whose average monthly income is between 2001 and 3000 Yuan, and who engage in commercial sex. In addition, the importance of using condoms at every sexual encounter should be emphasised in health education, as should the treatment of rectal trauma with bleeding. Finally, MSM should decrease the number of sex partners and frequency of anal sex to decrease the rate of HIV infection.

In networked control systems (NCSs) with resource constraints, there is an unavoidable tradeoff between the control performance and the quality of service. To address these problems, we present multi-objective programming with a set of constraints to optimize control performance and bandwidth consumption for the first time. Thanks to robust nonlinear approximate function and computational cost, a feed-forward neural network as optimal approximator is employed. The role of the neural network, which provides a good approximation to the optimal solution, dynamically allocates the bandwidth of each control loop so that the overall system performance is maximized while bandwidth consumption is minimized. Preliminary simulation results show that the proposed optimal strategy is an effective tradeoff method between the control performance and bandwidth consumption in networked control applications.

A new energetic material,4,5-dimethoxy-2-（dinitromethylene）imidazolidine（DMDNI）,was synthesized by the reaction of 4,5-dihydroxyl-2-（dinitromethylene）-imidazolidine（DDNI） and methanol,and structurally characterized by single crystal X-ray *** crystallized in triclinic space group P1,with crystal data a=0.4324（4） nm,b=1.3599（11） nm,c=1.7503（14） nm,α=77.406（14）°,β=84.494（15）°,γ=87.976（14）°,V=0.9997（14） nm 3,Z=4,μ=0.140 mm-1,F（000）=488,D c =1.556 g/cm ^3,R 1 =0.0773 and wR 2 =*** decomposition of DMDNI was studied,and its thermal decomposition process was divided into two *** first stage was a melting process and the second stage was an exothermic decomposition *** enthalpy,apparent activation energy and pre-exponential constant of the exothermic decomposition reaction are-491.5 J/g,142.3 kJ/mol and 10 14.24 s^-1,*** critical temperature of thermal explosion is 162.47 °*** has a lower thermal stability than DDNI but it is close to that of 4,5-diacetoxyl-2-（dinitromethylene）-imidazolidine（DADNI）.
