Focused crawling strategies based on ontologies and simulated annealing methods for rainstorm disaster domain knowledge

At present,focused crawler is a crucial method for obtaining effective domain knowledge from massive heterogeneous *** most current focused crawling technologies,there are some difficulties in obtaining high-quality crawling *** main difficulties are the establishment of topic benchmark models,the assessment of topic relevance of hyperlinks,and the design of crawling *** this paper,we use domain ontology to build a topic benchmark model for a specific topic,and propose a novel multiple-filtering strategy based on local ontology and global ontology(MFSLG).A comprehensive priority evaluation method(CPEM)based on the web text and link structure is introduced to improve the computation precision of topic relevance for unvisited hyperlinks,and a simulated annealing(SA)method is used to avoid the focused crawler falling into local optima of the *** incorporating SA into the focused crawler with MFSLG and CPEM for the first time,two novel focused crawler strategies based on ontology and SA(FCOSA),including FCOSA with only global ontology(FCOSA_G)and FCOSA with both local ontology and global ontology(FCOSA_LG),are proposed to obtain topic-relevant webpages about rainstorm disasters from the *** results show that the proposed crawlers outperform the other focused crawling strategies on different performance metric indices.

Unilateral hypoglossal Nerve Palsy after the Use of a Novel Supraglottic Airway Device

Background: The LMA® Protector™ Airway is a new supraglottic airway device with Cuff Pilot™ Technology that enables visual monitoring of intra-cuff pressure, to reduce the risk of complications from an overinflated device. Case: we present a case of unilateral hypoglossal nerve injury after its use. In our knowledge, this is the first reported case of hypoglossal nerve injury after LMA® Protector™ use. Learning Points: hypoglossal nerve injury is a rare but distressing complication of LMA use. The greater horn of the hyoid bone is a potential site of injury, as the cuff of the LMA may compress the nerve against bone. In our patient, possible contributing factors included cuff overinflation with/without failure of the Cuff Pilot™ technology, inappropriate sizing and placement of an unfamiliar device. Fortuitously, injury is often neuropraxia with complete recovery in 6 months following conservative management. Consideration should be given to down-sizing the device for Asian patients who tend to have smaller jaws for their weight range. we caution that whilst the green zone of the Cuff Pilot™ corresponds to 40 - 60 cm h2O cuff pressure, it may be more than the “just-seal” pressure required and the cuff may still be overinflated relative to the size of the patient’s airway.

high Response Rate to Second-Line Combination Antiangiogenic Chemotherapy in Patients with Metastatic Melanoma

Objectives: Despite the array of new treatment strategies for the management of metastatic melanoma, the prognosis remains poor when immune checkpoint inhibition and targeted therapy options are exhausted. The antiangiogenic monoclonal antibody bevacizumab has documented its efficacy in the treatment of several solid tumors, when used in combination with standard chemotherapy. Phase II studies and case series have led to the speculation that it may also improve the prognosis when used in stage IV melanoma. Therefore, we investigated the influence of bevacizumab, combined with a platinum-based chemotherapy, in the treatment of melanoma and sought to identify prognostic factors affecting the response. Methods: Eight patients with metastatic melanoma, with documented progress after at least one previous therapy, received bevacizumab (5 mg/kg intravenously every two weeks) in combination with cisplatin (100 mg/m2 every four weeks) and carboplatin (200 mg/m2 every four weeks). The therapy was continued until renewed disease progression occurred. The response rate, progression-free and overall survival, and toxicity were evaluated. Results: we observed complete remission in two patients (25%) and partial response in an additional four patients. In one patient, the disease remained stable (total disease control rate of 87.5%). Only one patient (12.5%) had progressive disease. The median progression-free survival was 6 months (range 3 - 37 months). The median overall survival time was 15.5 months (range 6 - 77 months). Every patient experienced at least one adverse event of grade 3 - 4, most commonly bleeding associated with severe thrombocytopenia. Conclusion: Our observations indicate that bevacizumab, in combination with cisplatin and carboplatin, may represent an effective treatment option for patients with metastatic melanoma and disease progression.

Submerged fermentation improves bioactivity of mulberry fruits and leaves

Objective:Mulberry(Morus spp.)fruits and leaves have been proven to possess nutraceutical *** to its fast and easy growing characteristics,mulberry fruits(MF)and leaves(ML)potentially emerge as a great source of functional *** study aims to enhance bioactivities(antioxidant,antiinflammation,and hypoglycemic activity)of MF and ML via submerged fermentation using bacteria(Lactobacillus plantarum TAR 4),yeast(Baker’s yeast and red yeast)and fungi(Tempeh and Tapai starter).Methods:In this study,25%(mass to volume ratio)of MF and ML were fermented(48 h)with 1%(mass to volume ratio)of different microbial cultures,*** of different fermentations on MF and ML were determined based on the changes of total phenolics(TPC),flavonoids(TFC),anthocyanins,total sugar,DPPh activity,ferric reducing antioxidant power(FRAP),albumin denaturation inhibition activity(ADI),anti-lipoxygenase activity and a-amylase inhibition activity(AI).Results:Generally,ML had higher AI than ***,MF exhibited higher DPPh,FRAP and antilipoxygenase activity than *** all forms of fermentation,DPPh and AI activity of MF and ML were increased significantly(Phowever,the effects of fermentation on TPC,FRAP,ADI and antilipoxygenase activity of MF were in contrast with ***,FRAP and anti-lipoxygenase activity of ML were enhanced,but reduced in MF after *** the effects exerted by different microorganisms in MF and ML fermentation were different,the bioactivities of MF and ML were generally improved after *** by Tempeh starter enhanced TPC(by 2-fold),FRAP(by 2.3-fold),AI(at 10%increment)and anti-lipoxygenase activity(by 5-fold)of ML,whereas Tapai fermentation effectively enhanced the DPPh(at 17%increment)and ADI(by 2-fold)activity of ***:Findings of this study provide an insight into the future process design of MF and ML processing into novel functional foods.

Improvement of thermal stability of ZrSiON based solar selective absorbing coating

Solar selective absorbing coatings(SSACs)are required to have not only excellent optical property but also outstanding thermal stability for high temperature *** optical properties of Mo/ZrSiN/ZrSiON/SiO_(2) SSAC had been optimized successfully ***,we are focusing on the evaluation and mechanism of thermal stability of this multilayer coating for its potential applications in concentrated solar power(CSP)***,the coating exhibits excellent thermal stability after aging at 400℃ for 1500 h in *** aging temperature of 500℃ for 1000 h or 600℃ for 300 h in vacuum,the slight inter-diffusion between Mo layer and stainless steel(SS)substrate *** higher aging temperature of 700℃ for 100 h in vacuum,the serious inter-diffusion between Mo layer and SS substrate leads to invalidation of the coating,which has been evidenced by Rutherford backscattering spectrometry(RBS)and X-ray diffraction(XRD)***,this coating also has an outstanding thermal stability after aging at 400℃for 300 h in air.A heating-cooling cycling(hCC)treatment evidences the good thermal stability of this coating working in cold environment(60℃).The results reveal that this coating can be a promising candidate not only for CSP system in high temperatures but also for usage in cold environment.

Mycobacteria Interspersed Repetitive Units-Variable Number of Tandem Repeat, Spoligotyping and Drug Resistance of Isolates from Pulmonary Tuberculosois Patients in Kenya

Background: Molecular typing allows a rapid and precise species differentiation and is essential in investigating the spread of specific genotypes and any relationship with drug resistance. Methodology: To compare the discrimination power of 24-loci Mycobacteria interspersed repetitive units-variable number of tandem repeat (MIRU-VNTR) to spoligotyping in determining the circulating genotypes of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in isolates from pulmonary tuberculosis patients in Kenya, a total of 204 isolates were typed. Results: Spoligotyping identified 22 spoligo lineages;while 36(17.6%) isolates were not determined. MIRU-VNTR typing identified 12 genotypes;Kenya h37_Rv_ like, S-like that had never been reported before and which were not identified by spoligotyping were identified. Others were Uganda I and II, LAM, Beijing, TUR, EAI, Delhi/C, S and haarlem. Only 8 (3.9%) were not defined by MIRU-VNTR. Delhi/CAS, EAI, S, S-like, LAM and Beijing had strains that showed resistance to all the five drugs tested. Two strains of EAI and 2 of S genotypes were resistant to all the five drugs tested. Beijing genotype commonly associated with drug resistance was found to be third in drug resistance (14.7%) after Delhi/CAS (28.9%) and LAM (17.6%) with the highest resistance towards isoniazid and pyrazinamide (3.9% each). MIRU-VNTR typing was more discriminative than spoligotyping;identifying 10 unique h37_Rv-like isolates designated Keniah37_Rv_like genotype and 14 S-like genotype. Conclusion: MIRU-VNTR typing has not been reported in any other study in Kenya and its higher discrimination can help identify genotypes that cannot be determined by spoligotyping. Association of Beijing genotype drug resistance particularly isoniazid should be of concern since it may result in multidrug resistance in the patients.

Background: This study evaluated the effects of Eimeria spp. challenge and dietary supplementation with free methionine or methionine dipeptide on animal performance;expression of genes associated with the immune system, antioxidant system, and amino acid transport in the jejunum;and redox status of the jejunum of broiler ***: A randomized, 2 × 3 factorial design was used, in which Eimeria spp. challenge was the first factor(Eimeria-challenged, EC, or unchallenged, UC, broilers) and methionine supplementation was the second factor(non-supplemented, NS;free DL-methionine, DL-Met;and methionine dipeptide, DL-methionyl-DL-methionine, DLMMet). At 14 days of age, chickens were inoculated orally with sporulated oocysts of Eimeria acervulina, Eimeria praecox, Eimeria maxima, and Eimeria mitis. Birds were killed by cervical dislocation 144 h post-inoculation(PI), and the jejunum was collected for biochemical and molecular ***: EC broilers had a 13% lower feed intake(FI), 37% lower body weight gain(BwG), and 39% higher feed conversion ratio(FCR) than UC broilers. Chickens fed the DL-Met diet had higher BwG(about 12% higher) and better FCR(about 12% lower) than chickens fed the NS diet. EC chickens had lower relative weight of the bursa of Fabricius(51.8%) and higher relative weights of the spleen and whole intestine(53.6% and 26.3%, respectively) than UC chickens. Eimeria spp. challenge led to an increase in the levels of oxidative substances, such as nitrite and thiobarbituric acid reactive substances(TBARS), in the jejunum of chickens 144 h PI. Among UC chickens, those fed the DL-Met diet had higher total antioxidant capacity(TAC) and lower catalase(CAT) and superoxide dismutase(SOD) activities. EC chickens that received the NS diet had higher carbonylated protein content(CP). This result was associated with their lower TAC and catalase activity. The hydrogen sulphide molecule（h2S） is one of the best experimentally studied aymmetric top molecules that shows a pronounced localisation of molecular vibrations. Both the discrete variable representation for three-dimension（DVR3D） program and modified DVR3D program have been used to determine the vibrational energy levels of the fundamental electronic state of h2S and its isotopmers（hDS,D2S）. The calculated results derived from the modified DVR3D program and the DVR3D program are compared with available experimental results for the three systems. The calculated results for h2S and D2S agree well with the experimental results while the DVR3D results for hDS are better than the results obtained from the modified DVR3D program when compared with experimental results. Both the DVR3D program and the modified DVR3D program prove to be powerful tools to determine the vibrational energy levels of the ground electronic state of many triatomic systems. This work not only plays an important role as a fertile testing ground for PES constructions, but also forms the basis for dealing with the ro-vibrational spectra of the title systems.
