Production and Characterization of a Composite Based on Plaster and Juncus Maritimus Plant Fibers

Nowadays,materials with a limited impact on the environment are required in the construction *** the interesting properties of natural elements such as natural fibers,it seems advantageous to use them to reinforce materials while protecting the environment and guaranteeing economic *** these lines,this research w.s.devoted to studying the effect of untreated natural fibers extracted from the Juncus maritimus plant(from southern Morocco)on ***,the effect of the percentage of added fibers on the fluidity of the plaster w.s.evaluated by means of the Marsh’s cone method,that is,by measuring the time taken by a known volume of plaster to flow from a cone through a short ***,the highly porous microstructure of the plaster w.s.observed using a scanning electron microscope(sEM).The diffractogram of Juncus maritimus fibers w.s.built by means of a X-ray diffraction(XRD)*** values obtained for the wet thermal conductivity of the composites decreased from 0.4853 w/m.K for the reference specimen to 0.4324 w/m K for a fiber volume content of 40%.The densities were calculated to determine the lightness of each *** mechanical strengths[flexural and compressive]were evaluated for different percentages of rush *** addition of 20%volume fiber w.s.found to improve the flexural strength to 3.63 MPa compared to the sample without fiber(3.36 MPa),thereby ensuring good toughness of the considered ***,a reduction in compressive strength w.s.observed,due to the poor adhesion between the fibers and the plaster matrix.

Postpartum Quality of Life in Primiparous women after Normal Vaginal Delivery versus Caesarean section

Background: studies on either postnatal quality of life in general or studies that compare quality of life in new mothers after different mode of delivery are limited. An investigation on health related quality of life measures in women after different type of delivery showed that women who had vaginal delivery had better health related quality of life compared to those who had caesarean section. However, the best method of delivery, vaginal or caesarean for postpartum quality of life is a difficult question as it is a matter of controversy both from professional’s perspectives and from women’s experience during childbirth. Objective: To compare postpartum quality of life in primiparous women after vaginal delivery versus caesarean section. Methods: Prospective cross-sectional study w.s.conducted at the department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, salmaniya medical complex in Kingdom of Bahrain. 500 primiparous women who gave birth either vaginally or by cesarean section answered a questionnaire designed to include general information, questions from short form health survey questionnaire (sF-36) and specific questions regarding postnatal related symptoms. Results: Body pain, fatigue, wound pain, headache and backache were significantly higher in cesarean section group as compared to vaginal delivery group (p-value Conclusion: Cesarean delivery has negatively affected the quality of life (QOL) of primiparous women. More studies with larger sample sizes should be conducted to examine the effects of cesarean delivery on QOL in both primiparous and multiparas within a shorter period after delivery. .

An autonomous microgrid that runs on renewable energy sources is presented in this *** has a supercon-ducting magnetic energy storage(sMEs)device,wind energy-producing devices,and an energy storage ***,because such microgrids are nonlinear and the energy they create varies with time,controlling and managing the energy inside them is a difficult ***-order proportional integral(FOPI)controller is recommended for the current research to enhance a standalone microgrid’s energy management and *** suggested dedicated control for the sMEs comprises two loops:the outer loop,which uses the FOPI to regulate the DC-link voltage,and the inner loop,responsible for regulating the sMEs current,is constructed using the intelligent FOPI(iFOPI).The FOPI+iFOPI parameters are best developed using the dandelion optimizer(DO)approach to achieve the optimum *** suggested FOPI+iFOPI controller’s performance is contrasted with a conventional PI controller for variations in wind speed and microgrid *** optimal FOPI+iFOPI controller manages the voltage and frequency of the *** behavior of the microgrid as a reaction to step changes in load and wind speed w.s.measured using the proposed *** simulations were used to evaluate the recommended system’s *** results of the simulations showed that throughout all interruptions,the recommended microgrid provided the load with AC power with a constant amplitude and *** addition,the required load demand w.s.accurately ***,the microgrid functioned incredibly well despite sMEs and varying wind *** obtained under identical conditions were compared with and without the best FOPI+iFOPI *** utilizing the optimal FOPI+iFOPI controller with sMEs,it w.s.found that the microgrid performed better than the microgrid without sMEs.

Interfacial solar desalination is an emerging technology for freshwater production,but the finding of novel solar evaporators is still *** the present research,graphitic carbon foam(CF)w.s.synthesized from the upcycling of w.s.e plastic polyethylene terephthalate(PET)w.s.e bottles functionalized with carrollite CuCo_(2)s_(4) as a photothermal *** characterization[X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),and scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive spectroscopy(sEM-EDs)]confirms the functionalization of carrollite CuCo_(2)s_(4) on graphitic carbon *** UV-Vis spectroscopy analysis showed an enhanced optical absorption in the UV-Vis-near IR region(>96%)for functionalized CuCo_(2)s_(4)-CF foam compared to carbon foam(67%).The interfacial solar desalination experiment presented a significantly enhanced evaporation rate of 2.4 kg·m^(−2)·h^(−1) for CuCo_(2)s_(4)-CF compared to that of CF(1.60 kg·m^(−2)·h^(−1))and that of CuCo_(2)s_(4)(1.60 kg·m^(−2)·h^(−1)).The obtained results proved that the newly synthesized CuCo_(2)s_(4)-CF from the upcycled plastic into new material for the photothermal desalination process can enhance the practice of a circular economy to produce fresh water.

Advancing Early Detection of Colorectal Adenomatous Polyps via Genetic Data Analysis: A Hybrid Machine Learning Approach

In this study, a hybrid machine learning (HML)-based approach, incorporating Genetic data analysis (GDA), is proposed to accurately identify the presence of adenomatous colorectal polyps (ACRP) which is a crucial early detector of colorectal cancer (CRC). The present study develops a classification ensemble model based on tuned hyperparameters. surpassing accuracy percentages of early detection approaches used in previous studies, the current method exhibits exceptional performance in identifying ACRP and diagnosing CRC, overcoming limitations of CRC traditional methods that are based on error-prone manual examination. Particularly, the method demonstrates the following CRP identification accuracy data: 97.7 ± 1.1, precision: 94.3 ± 5, recall: 96.0 ± 3, F1-score: 95.7 ± 4, specificity: 97.3 ± 1.2, average AUC: 0.97.3 ± 0.02, and average p-value: 0.0425 ± 0.07. The findings underscore the potential of this method for early detection of ACRP as well as clinical use in the development of CRC treatment planning strategies. The advantages of this approach are highly expected to contribute to the prevention and reduction of CRC mortality.

Tensile strain Capacity Prediction of Engineered Cementitious Composites (ECC) Using soft Computing Techniques

Plain concrete is strong in compression but brittle in tension,having a low tensile strain capacity that can significantly degrade the long-term performance of concrete structures,even when steel reinforcing is *** order to address these challenges,short polymer fibers are randomly dispersed in a cement-based matrix to forma highly ductile engineered cementitious composite(ECC).Thismaterial exhibits high ductility under tensile forces,with its tensile strain being several hundred times greater than conventional *** concrete is inherently weak in tension,the tensile strain capacity(TsC)has become one of the most extensively researched *** a result,developing a model to predict the TsC of the ECC and to optimize the mixture proportions becomes ***,the effort required for laboratory trial batches to determine the TsC is *** achieve the research objectives,five distinct models,artificial neural network(ANN),nonlinear model(NLR),linear relationship model(LR),multi-logistic model(MLR),and M5P-tree model(M5P),are investigated and employed to predict the TsCof ECCmixtures containing fly *** from115 mixtures are gathered and analyzed to develop a new *** input variables include mixture proportions,fiber length and diameter,and the time required for curing the various *** model’s effectiveness is evaluated and verified based on statistical parameters such as R2,mean absolute error(MAE),scatter index(sI),root mean squared error(RMsE),and objective function(OBJ)***,the ANN model outperforms the others in predicting the TsC of the ECC,with RMsE,MAE,OBJ,sI,and R2 values of 0.42%,0.3%,0.33%,0.135%,and 0.98,respectively.
