Deep Learning(DL),a type of machine Learning,has gained significant interest in many fields,including *** paper aims to shed light on deep learning techniques used in agriculture for abiotic and biotic stress detection in fruits and vegetables,their benefits,and the challenges faced by *** papers were collected from web of Science,Scopus,Google Scholar,Springer,and Directory of Open Access Journals(DOAJ)using combinations of specific keywords such as:’Deep Learning’OR’Artificial Intelligence’in combination with fruit disease’,vegetable disease’,‘fruit stress',OR‘vegetable stress'following pRISmA *** the initial 818 papers identified using the keywords,132 were reviewed after excluding books,reviews,and the *** recovered scientific papers were from 2003 to 2022;93%addressed biotic stress on fruits and *** most common biotic stresses on species are fungal diseases(grey spots,brown spots,black spots,downy mildew,powdery mildew,and anthracnose).Few studies were interested in abiotic stresses(nutrient deficiency,water stress,light intensity,and heavy metal contamination).Deep Learning and Convolutional Neural Networks were the most used keywords,with GoogleNet(18.28%),ResNet50(16.67%),and VGG16(16.67%)as the most used ***-two percent of the data used to compile these models come from the fields,followed by data obtained *** problems due to unbalanced classes and the small size of some databases were also *** provided the research gaps and some perspectives from the reviewed *** research works are required for a deep understanding of the use of machine learning techniques in fruit and vegetable studies:collection of large datasets according to different scenarios on fruit and vegetable diseases,evaluation of the effect of climatic variability on the fruit and vegetable yield using AI methods and more abiotic stress studies.

Single-beam two-photon three-dimensional optical storage in a pyrryl-substituted fulgide photochromic material

we introduce a high-density three-dimensional optical data storage approach by using a pyrryl-sub-stituted fulgide photochromic material with a method of single-beam two-photon recording and fluorescence confocal readout. the detailed information about the photochromic material and the experimental setup are presented. the experiments about multi-layered recording and readout are carried out with a 100-μm-thick transparent photochromic material film. the results show that the lateral resolution is better than 1 μm, and the longitudinal resolution is about 3 μm. Besides, the readout times for the recorded data aredesirable when using a readout laser power smaller than 5 mw.

Sol-gel derived HA/TiO_2 double coatings on Ti scaffolds for orthopaedic applications

Hydroxyapatite/titania (HA/TiO2) double layers were coated onto Ti scaffolds throughout for orthopaedic applications by sol-gel method. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analysis (TG) and X-ray diffractometry (XRD) were used for the characterisation of the phase transformations of the dried gels and coated surface structures. Scanning electron microscope (SEm) equipped with energy dispersive spectrometry (EDS) was used for the observation and evaluation of the morphology and phases of the surface layers and for the assessment of the in vitro tests. the in vitro assessments were performed by soaking the HA/TiO2 double coated samples into the simulated body fluid (SBF) for various periods. the TiO2 dipping-coating method at a speed of 12 cm/min, followed by a heat treatment at 600 ℃ for 20 min. the HA la lyaeyre wr wasa ssu cbosaetqeude bnytl ya dipping-coated on the outer surface at the same speed and then heat-treated at difference temperatures. the results indicat that the HA phase begins to crystallize after a heat treatment at 560 ℃. the crystallinity increases obviously at 760 ℃. SEm observations find no delamination or crack at the interfaces of HA/TiO2 and TiO2/Ti. the HA/TiO2 coated Ti scaffolds displays excellent bone-like apatite forming ability when it is soaked into SBF. Heterologous Expression of mycobacterium tuberculosis Ag85B in pichia pastoris

the DNA fragment encoding mature mycobacterium tuberculosis major secretory protein Ag85B was inserted into the pichia pastoris secretory expression vector pHBm905A, under the control of the AOX1 promoter. the recombinant plasmid pHBm905A-85B linearized by Sal I was introduced into pichia pastoris strain GS115 by pEG1000 transformation method. After phenotype screening and pCR identification, the resulting GS115-pHBm905A-85B strain was cultivated and induced with methanol. the recombinant Ag85B protein in secreted form was attained with molecular weight of 35 × 10^3 approximately detected by SDS-pAGE and western blot. EI,ISA experiment proved that the protein had good antigen specificity. Secretory expression of recombinant m. tuberculosis Ag85B in p. pastoris will open a door to mass production of the protein in heterologous host and allow ready evaluation of its immunological function.

A survey on communication protocols and performance evaluations for Internet of things

the Internet of things (IoT) is a large-scale network of devices capable of sensing, data processing, and communicating with each other through different communication protocols. In today's technology ecosystem, IoT interacts with many application areas such as smart city, smart building, security, traffic, remote monitoring, health, energy, disaster, agriculture, industry. the IoT network in these scenarios comprises tiny devices, gateways, and cloud platforms. An IoT network is able to keep these fundamental components in transmission under many conditions with lightweight communication protocols taking into account the limited hardware features (memory, processor, energy, etc.) of tiny devices. these lightweight communication protocols affect the network traffic, reliability, bandwidth, and energy consumption of the IoT application. therefore, determining the most proper communication protocol for application developers emerges as an important engineering problem. this paper presents a straightforward overview of the lightweight communication protocols, technological advancements in application layer for the IoT ecosystem. the survey then analyzes various recent lightweight communication protocols and reviews their strengths and limitations. In addition, the paper explains the experimental comparison of Constrained Applications protocol (CoAp), message Queuing Telemetry (mQTT), and webSocket protocols, more convenient for tiny IoT devices. Finally, we discuss future research directions of communication protocols for IoT.

For our KDp crystal orientation, various tbermo-optic （TO） and relevant temperature-dependence param- eters are defined, presented, and studied in the framework of a transverse and a longitudinal electro-optic （EO） modulation systems. this study is based on the concept of the so-called opto-electrical bias （~） ap- plied to the system. For both of the above EO-modulation systems, a set of original equations is extracted and investigated with regard to each of the more important TO or temperature coefficients. Using these equations, for these parameters the role of the transverse configuration is examined in comparison with its corresponding longitudinal configuration. A comparison is done with other orientation of the same KDp crystal.

Transport of airborne particulate matters originating from mentougou, Beijing, China

In this study, a coupled regional air quality modeling system is applied to investigate the time spatial variations in airborne particulate matters （pm10）, originating from mentougou to Beijing municipal area in the period of April 1-7, 2004, and the influences of complex terrain and meteorological conditions upon boundary layer structure and pm10 concentration distributions. An intercomparison of the performance with CALpUFF against the observed data is presented and an examination of scatter plots is provided. the statistics show that the correlation coefficient and STD between the modeled and observed data are 0.86 and 0.03, respectively. Analysis of model results illustrates that the pollutants emitted from mentougou can be transported to Beijing municipal area along certain transport pathways, and pm10 concentration distributions show heterogeneity characteristics. Contributions of the mentougou sources to the pm10 concentrations in Beijing municipal area are up to 0.1-15 μg/m^3.

Estimation of the van Genuchten Soil water Retention properties from Soil Textural Data

the van Genuchten (vG) function is often used to describe the soil water retention curve (SwRC) of unsaturated soils and fractured rock. the objective of this study was to develop a method to determine the vG model parameter m from the fractal dimension. we compared two approaches previously proposed by van Genuchten and Lenhard et al. for estimating m from the pore size distribution index of the Brooks and Corey (BC) model. In both approaches we used a relationship between the pore size distribution index of the BC model and the fractal dimension of the SwRC. A dataset containing 75 samples from the UNSODA unsaturated soil hydraulic database was used to evaluate the two approaches. the statistical parameters showed that the approach by Lenhard et al. provided better estimates of the parameter m. Another dataset containing 72 samples from the literature was used to validate Lenhard's approach in which the SwRC fractal dimension was estimated from the clay content. the estimated SwRC of the second dataset was compared with those obtained with the Rosetta model using sand, silt, and clay contents. Root mean square error values of the proposed fractal approach and Rosetta were 0.081 and 0.136, respectively, indicating that the proposed fractal approach performed better than the Rosetta model.

Enterolactone modulates the ERK/NF-κB/Snail signaling pathway in triple-negative breast cancer cell line mDA-mB-231 to revert the TGF-β-induced epithelial–mesenchymal transition

Objective:Triple-negative breast cancer(TNBC)is highly metastatic,and there is an urgent unmet need to develop novel therapeutic strategies leading to the new drug discoveries against *** transforming growth factor-β(TGF-β)is known to promote the invasive and migratory potential of breast cancer cells through induction of epithelial–mesenchymal transition(EmT)via the ERK/NF-κB/Snail signaling pathway,leading to breast cancer *** this pathway to revert the EmT would be an attractive,novel therapeutic strategy to halt breast cancer ***:Effects of enterolactone(EL)on the cell cycle and apoptosis were investigated using flow cytometry and a cleaved caspase-3 enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA),*** of TGF-βinduction and EL treatment on the functional malignancy of mDA-mB-231 breast cancer cells were investigated using migration and chemo-invasion *** effects of EL on EmT markers and the ERK/NF-κB/Snail signaling pathway after TGF-βinduction were studied using confocal microscopy,quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(q RT-pCR),western blot,and flow ***:Herein,we report that EL exhibits a significant antimetastatic effect on mDA-mB-231 cells by almost reverting the TGF-β-induced EmT in *** downregulates the mesenchymal markers N-cadherin and vimentin,and upregulates the epithelial markers E-cadherin and *** represses actin stress fiber formation via inhibition of mitogen-activated protein kinase p-38(mApK-p38)and cluster of differentiation 44(CD44).EL also suppresses ERK-1/2,NF-κB,and Snail at the m RNA and protein ***:Briefly,EL was found to inhibit TGF-β-induced EmT by blocking the ERK/NF-κB/Snail signaling pathway,which is a promising target for breast cancer metastasis therapy.
