Silicon-based nanomaterials,known for their unique properties and favorable biocompatibility,significantly impact sectors like energy,electronics,and ***,metalorganic frameworks(MOFs)have emerged as promising candidates for biomedicine,characterized by adjustable chemical composition,high porosity,and ***,the combination of silicon with MOFs to create silicon-based MOF nanostructures(SiMOFs)remains ***,we establish a diverse library of SiMOFs with various nanostructures,including flower-like,capsule-like,hexagonal snowflake-like,and necklace-like morphologies via microwave-assisted *** SiMOFs,with their spacious interiors,are ideal for drug *** are used to load drugs and create drug-loaded SiMOFs(e.g.,SiFeO).SiFeO exhibits excellent photothermal effects and high reactive oxygen species(ROS)generation capacity,enabling synergistic treatments involving chemochemodynamic-photothermal *** approach efficiently triggers immunogenic cell death(ICD)and demonstrates excellent antitumor efficacy in *** staining reveals that the synergistic therapy can modulate the tumor microenvironment(TME)by reducing M2-phenotype macrophages,increasing the activation of antigen-presenting cells(APCs),enhancing the infiltration of CD4^(+)and CD8^(+)T cells,elevating Granzyme B production,and decreasing the presence of immunosuppressive regulatory T cells(Tregs).Consequently,drug-loaded SiMOFs-mediated combination therapy effectively reverses the immunosuppressive TME and activates robust antitumor immune responses by inducing ICD in tumor cells,ultimately achieving superior anticancer efficacy.

DEAR EDITOR,The composition and diversity of the human vaginal microbial community have been investigated intensively due to the diversity-stability relationship (DSR)-based hypothesis for bacterial vaginosis (BV) etiology, which was first proposed in the 1990s and has received renewed interest in recent years. Nevertheless, diversity changes (scaling) across individuals in a cohort or population have not yet been addressed, which is significant both theoretically and practically. Theoretically, biodiversity scaling is the core of biogeography, and practically, inter-subject heterogeneity is critical for understanding the etiology and epidemiology of human microbiome-associated diseases such as BV. Here we applied the diversity-area relationship (DAR), a recent extension to the classic species-area relationship (SAR), to study diversity scaling of the vaginal microbiome by reanalyzing reported data collected from 1 107 postpartum women. The model used here characterized the power-law (or its extension) relationships between accrued diversity and areas (numbers of individuals), upon which four biogeographic profiles were thus defined. Specifically, we established the DAR profile (relationship between diversity scaling parameter and so-termed diversity order (q)), similarly pair-wise diversity overlap (PDO) profile, maximal accrual diversity (MAD) profile, and ratio of individual-level to population-level diversity (RIP) profile. These four profiles offer valuable tools to assess and predict diversity scaling (changes) in the human vaginal microbiome across individuals, as well as to understand the dynamics of vaginal microbiomes in healthy women.

Exploring pseudotachylytes (PSTs) within detachment fault zones provides valuable insight into the kinematic processes of these fault systems. Nevertheless， significant controversy persists regarding the origin and formation mechanisms of PST veins. The PST was initially identified within the wulian detachment fault zone (DFZ) on the Jiaodong Peninsula by delineating the deformation characteristics of the fault zone's transition from ductile to ductile-brittle behavior. Macroscopic and microstructural features of the PST within the wulian DFZ were examined using geological field surveys. Using quantitative and high-resolution techniques， such as scanning electron microscopy， TIMA-X mineral composition analysis， and transmission electron microscopy， variations in mineral composition between the veins and detritals of the PST were investigated. Furthermore， this study has investigated the progressive deformation processes and underlying causes contributing to PST formation within the DFZ. This study revealed the presence of both type D and B-type PSTs in the wulian DFZ formed under ductile or ductile-brittle conditions. These PSTs exhibit fracture and fusion structures resulting from fault frictional fragmentation and frictional melting and undergo progressive deformation. During the initial stages of the D-type PST formation， biotite fragmentation in poorly cohesive foliation was the primary contributor， supplemented by frictional melting. As the deformation progressed， quartz fragmentation and partial melting became dominant， constituting up to 81.9% of the matrix. The formation of the B-type PST aligns with deformation under brittle or ductile-brittle conditions， with frictional fragmentation and fragmentation flow playing significant roles. Vein formation is initiated by biotite fragmentation or partial melting， followed by quartz， potassium feldspar， albite fragmentation， or partial melting. Overcooling causes thermal discomfort and wastes *** of a novel dedicated outdoor air system(DOAS)consisting of a multi-stage direct expansion coil to generate extra-low temperature(XT)outdoor air to handle the entire space cooling demand for better energy and humidity control has been confirmed in previous *** these studies,the terminal system was assumed using variable air volume(VAV)without *** conventional VAV system without reheating has overcooling *** is associated with uncertain fluctuations of operating ***,virtually no study has been done to investigate its overcooling risk,and how it is compared with *** this study,a rigorous probabilistic approach is proposed to account for the uncertain fluctuations of operating characteristics to assess their overcooling *** Carlo simulations with 10,000 interactions was used for risk analysis.A morphing method was employed to develop 10,000 weather files that could give an accurate prediction of future variations in yearly weather *** datasets were used to develop the probability distribution functions to account for the daily variations in use *** most probable operating characteristics were input to EnergyPlus for hour-by-hour *** annual cooling load profile formulated by the probabilistic approach was successfully validated by in-situ *** probabilistic assessment results show that XT-DOAS has far less overcooling hours and lower long-term percentage of dissatisfied than the conventional VAV *** results also indicate that the proposed probabilistic approach is useful for a robust system performance evaluation.

Plan evaluation is of utmost importance as a function of good governance. It provides a means to improve the institutional basis for implementing land use controls, provides an important opportunity to improve future plans to reduce risk, and improves the vision for sustainable development and management. This article provides an overview of the methods and findings of a plan evaluation project undertaken in New Zealand. The project analyzed 99 operative plans, provided in-depth analysis of ten plans, and included a capability and capacity study of councils. This is the first time all operative plans in New Zealand have had their natural hazard provisions assessed in this manner. The information provides an important baseline for future policy improvements, and a basis for future research and policy directions. The project found that, while New Zealand land use plans appear to be improving over time, there are still opportunities for improvement. These include improving linkages between objectives, policies, and rules within land use plans; and strengthening the linkages between land use and emergency management plans. The largest challenge is the accessibility, understanding of, and updating of hazard information.

As the reaction product of subducted water and the iron core, FeO2with more oxygen than hematite（Fe2O3） has been recently recognized as an important component in the D" layer just above the Earth's core-mantle boundary. Here, we report a new oxygen-excess phase（Mg, Fe）2O3+δ（0 l when（Mg, Fe）-bearing hydrous materials are heated over 1500 kelvin. The OE-phase is fully recoverable to ambient conditions for ex situ investigation using transmission electron microscopy, which indicates that the OE-phase contains ferric iron(Fe3+) as in Fe2O3but holds excess oxygen through interactions between oxygen atoms. The new OE-phase provides strong evidence that H2O has extraordinary oxidation power at high pressure. Unlike the formation of pyrite-type FeO2Hxwhich usually requires saturated water, the OE-phase can be formed with under-saturated water at mid-mantle conditions, and is expected to be more ubiquitous at depths greater than 1000 km in the Earth's mantle. The emergence of oxygen-excess reservoirs out of primordial or subducted（Mg,Fe）-bearing hydrous materials may revise our view on the deep-mantle redox chemistry.

Pregnancy represents a dynamic period with physical and physiological changes in both the mother and her developing fetus. The dramatic 2-3 fold increase in the active hormone 1,25（OH）2D concentrations during the early weeks of pregnancy despite minimal increased calcium demands during that time of gestation and which are sustained throughout pregnancy in both the mother and fetus suggests an immunomodulatory role in preventing fetal rejection by the mother. while there have been numerous observational studies that support the premise of vitamin D＇s role in maintaining maternal and fetal well-being, until recently, there have been few randomized clinical trials with vitamin D supplementation. One has to exhibit caution, however, even with RCTs, whose results can be problematic when analyzed on an intent-to-treat basis and when there is high non-adherence to protocol （as if often the case）, thereby diluting the potential good or harm of a given treatment at higher doses. As such, a biomarker of a drug or in this case ＂vitamin＂ or pre-prohormone is better served. For these reasons, the effect of vitamin D therapies using the biomarker circulating 25（OH）D is a far better indicator of true ＂effect.＂ when pregnancy outcomes are analyzed using the biomarker 25（OH）D instead of treatment dose, there are notable differences in maternal and fetal outcomes across diverse racial/ethnic groups, with improved health in those women who attain a circulating 25（OH）D concentration of at least 100 nmol. l-1 （40 ng. ml-1）. Because ,an important issue is the timing or initiation of vitamin D treatment/supplementation, and given the potential effect of vitamin D on placental gene expression and its effects on inflammation within the placenta, it appears crucial to start vitamin D treatment before placentation （and trophoblast invasion）; however, this question remains unanswered.
