Investigation of Pb(Ⅱ)bioremediation potential of algae and cyanobacteria strains isolated from polluted water

Algae and cyanobacteria are known to be able to remove a variety of pollutants from water,including toxic metal ions.In this study,algal and cyanobacterial species growing in two polluted water bodies were identified,and the Pb(Ⅱ)removal ability of these isolated species was investigated.Based on microscopic observations,27 species were identified,and nine species were isolated as pure cultures.Pb(Ⅱ)bioremediation of five selected species(Anacystis sp.,Chlorella sp.1,Monoraphidium sp.,Phormidium sp.,and Uronema sp.)was studied in detail.The mean Pb(Ⅱ)removal abilities varied among these five species:Phormidium sp.>Monoraphidium sp.>Uronema sp.>Chlorella sp.1>Anacystis sp.The Pb(Ⅱ)tolerance of each species was determined based on the live cell percentage and biofilm formation capacity.within a period of 3 d,Phormidium sp.,Monoraphidium sp.,and Uronema sp.showed nearly 90%of survival,and all five species demonstrated biofilm formation capacities exceeding 50%.Furthermore,the Pb(Ⅱ)removal ability of the five species exhibited a strong positive correlation with the live cell percentage and showed a strong negative correlation with the biofilm formation capacity.In conclusion,Phormidium sp.,Monoraphidium sp.,and Uronema sp.exhibited high tolerances towards Pb(Ⅱ)and presented high removal abilities.Thus,these species can be identified as potential sorbents for development of suitable adsorption systems to remove Pb(Ⅱ)from aqueous solutions.

Association between functional abdominal pain disorders and asthma in adolescents: A cross-sectional study

AIM To find the association between asthma and different types of functional abdominal pain disorders(FAPDs) among teenagers. METHOD A cross-sectional study was conducted among 13 to 15-year-old children from six randomly selected schools in Anuradhapura district of Sri Lanka. Data were collected using translated and validated selfadministered questionnaires(Rome Ⅲ questionnaire, International Study on Asthma and Allergies in Childhood questionnaire, and Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory 4.0) and administered under an examination setting after obtaining parental consent and assent.RESULTS Of the 1101 children included in the analysis, 157(14.3%) had asthma and 101(9.2%) had at least one FAPDs. Of children with asthma, 19.1% had at least one type of FAPDs. Prevalence rates of functional abdominal pain(FAP)(8.9% vs 3.3% in nonasthmatics), functional dyspepsia(FD)(2.5% vs 0.7%), and abdominal migraine(AM)(3.2% vs 0.4%) were higher in those with asthma(P gistic regression analysis), but not in those with irritable bowel syndrome(4.5% vs 3.1%, P = 0.2). Severe abdominal pain(10.8% vs 4.6%), bloating(16.6% vs 9.6%), nausea(6.4% vs 2.9%), and anorexia(24.2% vs 16.2%) were more prevalent among asthmatics(P wer gastrointestinal symptoms did not show a significant difference. Scores obtained for health related quality of life(HRQoL) were lower in those with asthma and FAPDs(P with three different types of FAPDs, namely, FD, AM, and FAP. HRQoL is significantly impaired in teenagers with asthma and FAPDs.

近年来,中文学习和教学在世界范围内以前所未有的速度快速发展。全球很多国家的学习者都在学习中文,并致力于在他们的国家教授中文或从事与中国相关的工作。斯里兰卡是中国的友好邻邦和“一带一路”的重要参与国,希望了解和学习中文和中国文化的人数也在不断地增加,斯里兰卡全国的中文教学发展态势良好。目前在斯里兰卡有几所大学开设中文课程,其中包括全国二语教学界最著名的两所大学——萨伯勒格穆沃大学与凯拉尼亚大学。早在1995年斯里兰卡萨伯勒格穆沃大学成立之时,就开设了语言学系。时至今日,它仍然是斯里兰卡国立大学系统中著名的语言学系之一。凯拉尼亚大学在语言研究方面也享有盛誉,它是斯里兰卡唯一一所开设六种不同外语专业课程的大学,其现代语言系则是该大学最早一批建立的系部之一,二语教学历史悠久。在专业课程方面,萨伯勒格穆沃大学和凯拉尼亚大学都设有四年制汉语言文学荣誉学士学位课程和三年制汉语言文学普通学士学位课程。在凯拉尼亚大学,不论是针对荣誉学位学生还是普通学位学生的课程体系中,都开设有《中国文化》课程。但在萨伯勒格穆沃大学,只有攻读四年制汉语荣誉学位的学生会学习《中国文化》课;由于三年制普通学位的培养方案中没有设置这门课程的修习要求,学生无法学习这门专业课。众所周知,语言是文化的一部分,而且很多汉语学习者学习目标之一就是未来可以从事与中文相关的工作。而这些学习者无论将从事什么样的具体工作,在工作中都要与中国人打交道。所以,不管是汉语荣誉学位的学生,还是普通学位的学生,都需要通过《中国文化》等相关课程的学习研修,在学好汉语的同时了解掌握中国文化,才更有利于他们未来的专业学习和职业发展。因此,如何能够在以这两所大学为代表的斯里兰卡高校中更好地开展中国文化教学,也正是本文的选题缘起和主要研究问题。为进一步了解目前文化教学现状,笔者曾先后在上述两所大学选修过《中国文化》及相关课程。在修读过程中,发现了这些课程在教学内容、所用教材和教学方法上存在的一些问题。特别是在新冠肺炎疫情影响下,教师在线上网课的文化教学中,也面临着更多新的问题。有鉴于此,笔者通过亲身的课堂观察,以及对这两所斯里兰卡所大学汉语学习者的问卷调查和任课教师直接访谈等方式,对现有中国文化类课程的教学情况进行较为全面的分析研究,并尝试对其中一些问题提出合理化的建议和改进措施,希望能为斯里兰卡高校中国文化课程的教学提供有益参考。本论文主要分为以下六章:第一章是绪论部分。主要介绍本论文的选题缘由和选题意义等。第二章是文献综述部分。主要对外语教学中的文化研究、文化教学方法和模式研究、中文教学与文化教学相关性的研究,以及中国文化教材等方面的前人研究情况进行了综合分析,并简要介绍了斯里兰卡中文教学方面的主要研究成果。第三章是本文的研究设计。主要介绍了本论文的研究意义、研究思路、研究问题、研究对象和研究工具等。研究的过程包括前期对斯里兰卡萨伯勒格穆沃大学与凯拉尼亚大学四年制汉语荣誉学位和三年制普通学位的各30名学生进行的问卷调查,对多位中国文化课程任课教师的访谈,以及对调查数据的统计和深入分析。第四章是对斯里兰卡两所大学中国文化课程整体教学情况的考察和对比分析。本章中结合对斯里兰卡萨伯勒格穆沃大学和凯拉尼亚大学《中国文化》任课教师访谈结果,分别分析了两校在中文教学的基本情况、孔子课堂和孔子学院的教学情况、中文课程设置、《中国文化》课教学现状、文化课程内容、课程教学材料、教学过程及方法等方面的整体情况和异同之处。第五章是对萨伯勒格穆沃大学和凯拉尼亚大学《中国文化》课程学习情况的调查与分析。通过对两所大学的60名汉语学习者进行的问卷调查和数据统计分析,发现了他们对于这两所大学文化课程安排、课程内容和教学过程等方面的一些意见和要求,以及在全球疫情影响下面临的学习问题和困难。第六章是对斯里兰卡大学《中国文化》课程建设和教学的相关建议。针对前文的对比分析和调查访谈,我们提出了对斯里兰卡大学《中国文化》课教学的一些参考性建议,包括:完善文化课大纲、优化教学过程、合理选用教材、丰富教学方法和加强教师的文化知识基础等。论文最后是研究结论与展望。本章总结了本文各部分的结论、主要发现和研究意义,以及本文所存在的问题与不足,希望本研究能够对今后斯里兰卡的汉语教学和中国文化课教学提供一些有益的参考。

Sexual reproduction is the basic way to form high genetic diversity and it is beneficial in evolution and speciation of fungi.The global diversity of teleomorphic species in Ascomycota has not been estimated.This paper estimates the species number for sexual ascomycetes based on five different estimation approaches,viz.by numbers of described fungi,by fungus:substrate ratio,by ecological distribution,by meta-DNA barcoding or culture-independent studies and by previous estimates of species in Ascomycota.The assumptions were made with the currently most accepted,“2.2–3.8 million”species estimate and results of previous studies concluding that 90%of the described ascomycetes reproduce sexually.The Catalogue of Life,Species Fungorum and published research were used for data procurement.The average value of teleomorphic species in Ascomycota from all methods is 1.86 million,ranging from 1.37 to 2.56 million.However,only around 83,000 teleomorphic species have been described in Ascomycota and deposited in data repositories.The ratio between described teleomorphic ascomycetes to predicted teleomorphic ascomycetes is 1:22.Therefore,where are the undiscovered teleomorphic ascomycetes?The undescribed species are no doubt to be found in biodiversity hot spots,poorly-studied areas and species complexes.Other poorly studied niches include extremophiles,lichenicolous fungi,human pathogens,marine fungi,and fungicolous fungi.Undescribed species are present in unexamined collections in specimen repositories or incompletely described earlier spe-cies.Nomenclatural issues,such as the use of separate names for teleomorph and anamorphs,synonyms,conspecific names,illegitimate and invalid names also affect the number of described species.Interspecies introgression results in new species,while species numbers are reduced by extinctions.

Land use and land cover(LULC)play a significant role in carbon regulation.South-China accounts for~65%of China’s carbon sink.In Xishuangbanna(South-China),rubber is expanding rapidly creating an urgent need to understand and monitor LULC change and how spatial variation affects carbon storage(CS).This is vital for the formation and implementation of better land use management practices.we studied LULC changes of 22-year period;addressing how these changes have affected the CS.we quantified LULC changes between1988 and 2010 using remote sensing methods and calculated CS changes using InvEST.Results showed that between 1988 and 2010,the rate of deforestation accelerated to 203.2 km^(2)y^(−1)and~23%of forest were lost.Conversion of natural forest to rubber was responsible for 78%of this deforestation.Rubber expansion rate was 153.4 km^(2)y^(−1).Changes to LULC drove a temporal CS reduction 0.223 Tg C/km^(2).Local stakeholders have strong economic interest in converting land to more profitable plantations.government efforts is required to control land conversion through new policies and incentives to retain natural forest.Assessment of specific potential land use change will be required to avoid promoting the conversion of high carbon storage land uses to low carbon storage land uses.
