Stress anisotropy regulated wrinkling pattern evolution on a core-shell soft cylinder

Diverse wrinkling patterns can occur on curved bilayer systems under differential growth or *** such systems,stress anisotropy is frequently encountered,and the coupling effect of curvature and stress anisotropy on the pattern evolution remains largely *** this study,we investigate the evolution of wrinkling patterns on a cylinder core-shell system with stress anisotropy leveraging both theoretical analysis and finite element *** buckling analysis has identified three distinct critical buckling modes regulated by the stress anisotropy,i.e.,axial sinusoidal mode,checkerboard mode,and circumferential sinusoidal *** finite element simulations,along with post-buckling analysis,reveal seven distinct evolutionary paths stemming from the three critical buckling *** present phase diagrams for both the critical buckling modes and their evolutionary paths,which are determined by dimensionless curvature and stress *** results not only expand the theoretical research on surface wrinkling of a core-shell soft cylinder but also introduce stress anisotropy as a significant parameter for regulating the wrinkling patterns and their evolutionary paths in curved bilayer *** revelation of a multitude of wrinkling patterns and their evolutionary pathways holds great potential for advancing applications that leverage tunable wrinkle surfaces.

The study of high-energy gamma-ray emission from gamma-ray bursts(gRBs) involves complex synchrotron radiation and synchrotron self-Compton(SSC) scattering mechanisms with multiple parameters exhibiting a wide distribution. Recent advancements in gRB research, particularly the observation of very high energy(VHE,>100 ge V) radiation, have ushered in a new era of multiwavelength exploration, offering fresh perspectives and limitations for understanding gRB radiation mechanisms. This study aimed to leverage VHE observations to refine constraints on synchrotron + SSC radiation from electrons accelerated by forward shocks. By analyzing two external environments—the uniform interstellar medium and stratified stellar wind medium, we conducted spectral and variability fitting for five specific bursts(gRB 180720B, gRB 190114C, gRB 190829A, gRB 201216C, and gRB 221009A) to identify the optimal parameters characterizing these events. A comparative analysis of model parameter distributions with and without VHE radiation observations reveals that the magnetic energy equipartition factor εBis more concentrated with VHE emissions. This suggests that VHE emissions may offer greater constraints on this microphysical parameter. Additionally, we found that the energy budget between VHE and ke V–Me V γ-ray emissions under the SSC radiation exhibits an almost linear relationship, which may serve as a tool to differentiate radiation mechanisms. we anticipate future statistical analyses of additional VHE bursts to validate our findings.

Airborne microplastics(MPs)are important pollutants that have been present in the environment for many years and are characterized by their universality,persistence,and potential *** study investigated the effects of terrestrial and marine transport of MPs in the atmosphere of a coastal city and compared the difference between daytime and *** direct infrared imaging(LDIR)and polarized light microscopy were used to characterize the physical and chemical properties of MPs,including number concentration,chemical types,shape,and *** trajectories were used to distinguish the air masses from marine and terrestrial *** chemical types were detected by LDIR,with rubber(16.7%)and phenol-formaldehyde resin(PFR;14.8%)being major *** main morphological types of MPs were identified,and fragments(78.1%)are the dominant *** in the atmosphere were concentrated in the small particle size segment(20-50μm).The concentration of MPs in the air mass from marine transport was 14.7 items/m^(3)-lower than that from terrestrial transport(32.0 items/m^(3)).The number concentration of airborne MPs was negatively correlated with relative *** from terrestrial transport were mainly rubber(20.2%),while those from marine transport were mainly PFR(18%).MPs in the marine transport air mass were more aged and had a lower number concentration than those in the terrestrial transport air *** number concentration of airborne MPs is higher during the day than at *** findings could contribute to the development of targeted control measures and methods to reduce MP pollution.

Aerodynamic and dynamic interference from trains is a key issue of concern for the safety of road vehicles travelling on single-level rail-cum road *** on the wind-road vehicle-train-bridge(wRTB)coupled vibration system developed herein,this study examines the dynamic characteristics when road vehicles meet trains in this *** influence of load combination,vehicle type and vehicle location is analyzed.A method to obtain the aerodynamic load of road vehicles encountering the train at an arbitrary wind speed is *** results show that due to the windproof facilities and the large line distance between the railway and highway,the aerodynamic and dynamic influence of trains on road vehicles is slight,and the vibration of road vehicles depends on the road *** the road vehicles discussed,the bus is the easiest to rollover,and the truck-trailer is the easiest to *** with the aerodynamic impact of trains,the crosswind has a more significant influence on road *** first peak/valley value of aerodynamic loads determines the maximum dynamic response,and the quick method is optimized based on this *** cases show that the optimized method can produce conservative results and can be used for relevant research or engineering applications.

The precision of landslide displacement prediction is crucial for effective landslide prevention and mitigation ***,the role of surface monitoring frequency in influencing prediction accuracy has been largely *** study examined the effect of varying monitoring frequencies on the accuracy of displacement predictions by using the Baijiabao landslide in the Three gorges Reservoir Area(TgRA)as a case *** collected surface automatic monitoring data at different intervals,ranging from daily to *** Ensemble Empirical Mode Decomposition(EEMD)algorithm was utilized to dissect the accumulated displacements into periodic and trend components at each monitoring *** fitting was applied to forecast the trend component while the periodic component was predicted with two state-of-the-art neural network models:Long Short-Term Memory(LSTM)and gated Recurrent Unit(gRU).The predictions from these models were integrated to derive cumulative displacement forecasts,enabling a comparative analysis of prediction accuracy across different monitoring *** results demonstrate that the proposed models achieve high accuracy in landslide displacement forecasting,with optimal performance observed at moderate monitoring ***,the daily mean average error(MAE)decreases sharply with increasing monitoring frequency,reaching a *** findings were corroborated by a parallel analysis of the Bazimen landslide,suggesting that moderate monitoring intervals of approximately 7 to 15 days are most conducive to achieving enhanced prediction accuracy compared to both daily and monthly intervals.

Microstructure,texture,and mechanical properties of the extruded Mg-2.49Nd-1.82gd-0.2Zn-0.2Zr alloy were investigated at different extrusion temperatures(260 and 320℃),extrusion ratios(10:1,15:1,and 30:1),and extrusion speeds(3 and 6 mm/s).The experimental results exhibited that the grain sizes after extrusion were much finer than that of the homogenized alloy,and the second phase showed streamline distribution along the extrusion direction(ED).with extrusion temperature increased from 260 to 320℃,the microstructure,texture,and mechanical properties of alloys changed *** dynamic recrystallization(DRX)degree and grain sizes enhanced as the extrusion ratio increased from 10:1 to 30:1,and the strength gradually decreased but elongation(EL)*** the extrusion speed increased from 3 to 6 mm/s,the grain sizes and DRX degree increased significantly,and the samples presented the typical-rare-earth(RE)*** alloy extruded at 260℃ with extrusion ratio of 10:1 and extrusion speed of 3 mm/s showed the tensile yield strength(TYS)of 213 MPa and EL of 30.6%.After quantitatively analyzing the contribution of strengthening mechanisms,it was found that the grain boundary strengthening and dislocation strengthening played major roles among strengthening *** results provide some guidelines for enlarging the industrial application of extruded Mg-RE alloy.
