Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma(PDAC)is nowadays the fourth leading cause of cancer-related death worldwide,but according to recent estimations it will become the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the USA up to 2030,following lung *** implementation of neoadjuvant chemotherapy during recent years led to an increase of overall survival at 35 months in PDAC after R0 resection[1].However,pancreatic cancer has a particularity that makes it a real challenge for clinicians:only 20%of patients are diagnosed early enough to have a resectable pancreatic cancer,whereas 40%of patients present with locally advanced or non-resectable disease,while the rest present with distant metastases[2].Systemic chemotherapy plays the main role in metastatic PDAC treatment:polychemotherapy regimens such as FOLFIRINOX(folinic acid,5-fluorouracil,irinotecan and oxaliplatin)or combination of gemcitabine/nab-paclitaxel seemed to improve median overall survival from 6.8 to 11.1 months and 6.7 to 8.5 months,respectively[3].

The present work aims to demonstrate the capabilities of Laser-induced Breakdown Spectroscopy(LIBS)coupled with a multivariate technique for rapid quantification and classification of old Indian coins made of various *** old Indian coins in different years of circulation,(1922–1986)were selected for the *** concentrations were determined by Calibration free LIBS(CF-LIBS)*** concentration of cuprum(Cu)is negligible,and aluminum(Al)is maximum in the first five coins,and vice-versa in the remaining eight *** different multivariate methods,Principal Component Analysis(PCA)and Soft Independent Modelling of Class Analogy(SIMCA)have been used to classify and identify the *** classified all thirteen samples into four main alloy *** discernment of unknown samples to their probable class membership of alloy was performed using *** surface hardness(Brinell hardness number)is linearly correlated with the plasma temperature and LIBS intensity *** sample surface of the first and fifth coin belongs to Al-alloy,having the least surface hardness,and it became harder for Cu–Ni alloy,Ni-brass alloy,and bronze *** hardness of the surface is more for bronze sample *** is also observed that the plasma temperature increases monotonically with the Brinell hardness *** analysis provides valuable information on fabrication methodology and explains large diversification in the elementary composition of old coins.

The enormous energy use of the building sector and the requirements for indoor living quality that aim to improve occupants' productivity and health, prioritize Smart Buildings as an emerging technology. The Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning(HVAC) system is considered one of the most critical and essential parts in buildings since it consumes the largest amount of energy and is responsible for humans comfort. Due to the intermittent operation of HVAC systems, faults are more likely to occur, possibly increasing eventually building's energy consumption and/or dow.grading indoor living quality. The complexity and large scale nature of HVAC systems complicate the diagnosis of faults in a centralized framework. This paper presents a distributed intelligent fault diagnosis algorithm for detecting and isolating multiple sensor faults in large-scale HVAC *** the HVAC system as a network of interconnected subsystems allows the design of a set of distributed sensor fault diagnosis agents capable of isolating multiple sensor faults by applying a combinatorial decision logic and diagnostic reasoning. The performance of the proposed method is investigated with respect to robustness, fault detectability and scalability. Simulations are used to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in the presence of multiple sensor faults applied to a 83-zone HVAC system and to evaluate the sensitivity of the method with respect to sensor noise variance.

Pulsar polarization profiles form a very basic database for understanding the emission processes in a pulsar *** careful polarization calibration of the 19-beam L-band receiver and verification of beamoffset observation results,we obtain polarization profiles of 682 pulsars from observations by the Five-hundredmeter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope(FAST)duringthe galactic Plane Pulsar Snapshot survey and other normal FAST *** them,polarization profiles of about 460 pulsars are observed for the first *** profiles exhibit diverse *** pulsars have a polarization position angle curve with a good S-shaped swing,some with orthogonal modes;some have components with highly linearly polarized components or strong circularly polarized components;some have a very wide profile,coming from an aligned rotator,and some have an interpulse from a perpendicular rotator;some wide profiles are caused by interstellar *** derive geometric parameters for 190 pulsars from the S-shaped position angle curves or with orthogonal *** find that the linear and circular polarization or the widths of pulse profiles have various frequency *** with a large fraction of linear polarization are more likely to have a large Edot.

Synthesis of a green Nano-Silica Material Using Beneficiated waste Dunites and Its Application in Concrete

Nano-silica, one of the substances boosting the field of nanomaterials, can be produced by dissolving olivine in acid. The dissolution of olivine is a convenient alternative route to the existing methods of nano-silica production (neutralization of sodium silicate and flame hydrolysis) because the olivine dissolution is a low temperature process making this method cheaper and greener. Furthermore, this process can use waste olivine materials for the production of nano-silica. The produced nano-silica has a specific surface area between 100 and 400 m2/g;a primary particle size between 10 and 25 nm, which is agglomerated in clusters;and an impurity content below 5 wt.%. In addition, olivine nano-silica can be classified as a pozzolanic material with an activity index of 101%. The optimum replacement level of olivine nano-silica in conventional vibrated concrete is around 5% by volume resulting in: 1) a compressive strength increase of 20%;2) a CO2 emission reduction of 3%. Therefore, the use of the olivine nano-silica in CVC does not only improve the compressive strength but also reduce the CO2 emissions.

AIM:To evaluate the referrals with suspected arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy(ARVC)and compare cardiac MR(cMR)findings against clinical ***:A retrospective analysis of 114(age range16 to 83,males 55%and females 45%)patients referred for cMR with a suspected diagnosis of ARVC between May 2006 and February 2010 was performed after obtaining institutional approval for service *** for referral including clinical symptoms and family history of sudden death,electrocardiogram and echo abnormalities,cMR findings,final clinical diagnosis and information about clinical management were *** results of cMR were classified as major,minor,non-specific or negative depending on both functional and tissue characterisation and the cMR results were compared against the final clinical ***:The most common reasons for referral included arrhythmias(30%)and a family history of sudden death(20%).Of the total cohort of 114 patients:4 patients(4%)had major cMR findings for ARVC,13patients(11%)had minor cMR findings,2 patients had non-specific cMR findings relating to the right ventricle and 95 patients had a negative *** the 4 patients who had major cMR findings,3(75%)had a positive clinical *** contrast,of the 13 patients who had minor cMR findings,only 2(15%)had a positive clinical *** of the 95 negative patients,clinical details were available for 81 patients and none of them had *** the 14 patients with no clinical data and final diagnosis,the sensitivity of the test was 100%,specificity 87%,positive predictive value29%and the negative predictive value 100%.CONCLUSION:CMR is a useful tool for ARVC evaluation because of the high negative predictive value as the outcome has a significant impact on the clinical decision-making.
