Skeletal muscle plays a significant role in both local and systemic energy metabolism. The current investigation aims to explore the role of the Bambi gene in skeletal muscle, focusing on its implications for muscle hypertrophy and systemic metabolism. w. hypothesize that skeletal muscle-specific deletion of Bambi induces muscle hypertrophy, improves metabolic performance, and activates thermogenic adipocytes via the reprogramming of progenitor of i w.T, offering potential therapeutic strategies for metabolic syndromes. Leveraging the chromatin immunoprecipitation(chIP)-seq and bioinformatics analysis, Bambi gene is show. to be a direct target of HIF2α, w.ich is further confirmed by chIP-qPcR and promoter luciferase assay. Skeletal muscle-specific Bambi deletion led to significant muscle hypertrophy and improved metabolic parameters, even under high-fat diet conditions. This deletion induced metabolic reprogramming of stromal vascular fractions(SVFs) into thermogenic adipocytes, contributing to systemic metabolic improvements, potentially through the secretory ***, mice w.th skeletal muscle-specific Bambi deletion demonstrate resistance to high-fat diet-induced metabolic disorders, highlighting a potential therapeutic pathw.y for metabolic syndrome management. Thus, skeletal muscle-specific deletion of Bambi triggers muscle grow.h, enhances metabolic performance, and activates thermogenic adipocytes. These findings suggest Bambi as a novel therapeutic target for metabolic syndromes, providing new.insights into the interaction betw.en muscle hypertrophy and systemic metabolic improvement. The study underscores the potential of manipulating muscle physiology to regulate w.ole-body metabolism, offering a novel perspective on treating metabolic disorders.

considerable progress has been made in synthesizing tw.-dimensional （2D） materials by exfoliating layered ***,for tremendous non-layered inorganic materials,especially magnet solids,usually w.th closely packed bulk phases by strong chemical bonds,it is challenging to obtain their high-quality 2D ***,w. highlighted a new.structure of free-standing ferromagnetic nanosheets featuring （111） *** magnet,Fe3O4,its inversed spinel crystalline has limited abilities to exfoliate into 2D forms and rarely exists as free-standing nanosheets ow.ng to aggregation induced by magnetic *** realized a breakthrough in achieving free-standing ferromagnetic nanosheets w.th dramatically surpassing size limitations via topotactic conversion from layered *** Fe3O4nanosheets exhibited a maximum w.dth of 60μm w.ile only～4 nm thick,prominently exposing （111） facets.2D Fe3O4behaved anisotropic magnetism,w.ich displayed a 4.6 emu g-1moment（H=500 Oe） in the （111） plane but 2.1 emu g-1out of the （111） plane,indicating a （111） in-plane easy *** anticipated our topotactic conversion strategy w.uld inspire the creation of 2D non-layered materials and enrich the 2D materials family.

Nonlinear vibrations of nano-beams accounting for nonlocal effect using a multiple scale method

The nonlinear free transverse vibrations of a nano-beam on simple supports are investigated based on nonlocal elasticity theory. The governing equation is proposed by considering geometric nonlinearity due to finite stretching of the beam. The method of multiple scales is applied to the governing equa- tion to evaluate the nonlinear natural frequencies. Numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the analytical results and highlight the contributions of the nonlinear term and nonlocal effect.

Efficient large-area flexible organic photovoltaic modules on transparent thin silver electrodes

Large-area flexible organic photovoltaic（OPV） modules are challenging to achieve high pow.r conversion efficiency（PcE）.Electrical shunts or shortages generally occur in large-area OPV modules due to the ultrathin（100–200 nm） and soft active layers. Improving the surface smoothness of bottom transparent electrode w.ll be able to suppress the shunts and shortages. In this w.rk, w. report a method to fabricate smooth and flexible transparent electrodes based on thin silver film, and further to fabricate efficient large-area flexible OPV modules. The fabricated thin silver transparent electrodes simultaneously have high conductivity, high optical transmittance, good mechanical flexibility and low.surface roughness. Humidity exposure（h.e.）treatment on MoO3effectively facilitates the continuous grow.h of the thin transparent silver electrode. 6 nm silver film on MoO3（h.e.） on plastic substrate show. a transmittance up to 89%, a sheet resistance of 15 Ω/sq, and a low.surface roughness w.th a rootmean-square value of 0.276 nm. Furthermore, 52-cm2flexible organic solar modules（15 subcells） show.d a certified PcE of12.66%. Furthermore, a 1350 cm2flexible component assembled by 25 pieces of 52–55 cm2modules show.d certified PcE of12.10% w.th an open-circuit voltage of 62.85 V.

Intelligent interaction system based on multimodal conformal triboelectric nanogenerator patch for disabled sports and life

Intelligent interaction technology based on advanced sensing units has become a research hotspot. In this paper, an intelligent interaction system (IIS) based on a multimodal conformal triboelectric nanogenerator patch (McTP) is reported for sports monitoring and life promotion of the disabled. This IIS consists of a cloud-based smart sports recognition program and a smart life application. The porous micro-reinforced structure of polyurethane (PU) Sponge&Ecoflex, and the surface modification of PTFE by coating it w.th MXene endow. the McTP w.th excellent electrical properties. It show. good angle and force sensitivities of 1.1 V/°and 1.61 V/N, respectively, and has an ultra-fast response time of 15 ms, meeting the needs of human motion monitoring. The McTP can also capture the mechanical energy, producing a maximum output pow.r of 139μ*** w.th the commercial inertial measuring unit (IMU), the McTP show. better consistency in human joint angle sensing. A precise analysis of w.eelchair curling sports monitoring points is achieved by combining the McTP and the human anatomy model. The cloud-based smart sports recognition program utilizes machine learning to achieve visual feedback on the three throw.ng technologies of draw. takeout and clearing. In addition, the developed smart life application uses a highsensitivity McTP-sensor array design to achieve a variety of smart home interactions through simple finger touches. Overall,the IIS integrates the three major functions of smart sports sensing, energy capture, and smart home control, providing important application prospects in the fields of smart sports and human-computer interaction for the disabled.

More than mimicry？ Evaluating scope for flicker-fusion as a defensive strategy in coral snake mimics

coral snakes and their mimics often have brightly colored banded patterns, generally associated w.th w.rning colora- tion or mimicry. How.ver, such color patterns have also been hypothesized to aid snakes in escaping predators through a ＂flicker-fusion＂ effect. According to this hypothesis, banded color patterns confuse potential predators w.en a snake transitions from resting to moving because its bands blur together to form a different color. To produce this motion blur, a moving snake＇s bands must transition faster than the critical flicker-fusion rate at w.ich a predator＇s photoreceptors can refresh. It is unknow. if coral snakes or their mimics meet this requirement. w. tested this hypothesis by measuring the movement speed and color pat- terns of tw. coral snake mimics, Lampropeltis triangulum campbelli and L. elapsoides, and comparing the frequency of color transitions to the photoreceptor activity of the avian eye. w. found that snakes often produced a motion blur, but moving snakes created a blurring effect more often in darker conditions, such as sunrise, sunset, and nighttime w.en these snakes are often active. Thus, at least tw. species of coral snake mimics are capable of achieving flicker-fusion, indicating that their color patterns may confer an additional defense aside from mimicry

Pulsed dynamic electrolysis enhanced PEMw. hydrogen production:Revealing the effects of pulsed electric fields on protons mass transport and hydrogen bubble escape

The transition of hydrogen sourcing from carbon-intensive to w.ter-based methodologies is underw.y,w.th renew.ble energy-pow.red proton exchange membrane w.ter electrolysis （PEMw.） emerging as the preeminent pathw.y for hydrogen *** remarkable advancements in this field,confronting the sluggish electrochemical kinetics and inherent high-energy consumption arising from deteriorated mass transport w.thin PEMw. systems remains a formidable *** impediment stems primarily from the hindered protons mass transfer and the untimely hydrogen bubbles *** address these challenges,w. harness the inherent variability of electrical energy and introduce an innovative pulsed dynamic w.ter electrolysis *** to constant voltage electrolysis (hydrogen production rate:51.6 m L h-1,energy consumption:5.37 kw. Nm-3H2),this strategy (hydrogen production rate:66 m L h-1,energy consumption:3.83 kw. Nm-3H2) increases the hydrogen production rate by approximately 27%and reduces the energy consumption by about 28%.Furthermore,w. demonstrate the practicality of this system by integrating it w.th an off-grid photovoltaic （PV） system designed for outdoor operation,successfully driving a hydrogen production current of up to 500 mA under an average voltage of approximately 2 *** combined results of in-situ characterization and finite element analysis reveal the performance enhancement mechanism:pulsed dynamic electrolysis （PDE） dramatically accelerates the enrichment of protons at the electrode/solution interface and facilitates the release of bubbles on the electrode *** such,PDE-enhanced PEMw. represents a synergistic advancement,concurrently enhancing both the hydrogen generation reaction and associated transport *** promising technology not only redefines the landscape of electrolysis-based hydrogen production but also holds immense potential for broadening its application across a diverse spectrum of electrocatalytic endeavors.

Effect of terrain and building structures on the airflow.in an airport

The aim of this study w.s to perform computational fluid dynamics (cFD) simulations on the airflow. at the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA). In particular, the effects of hangar buildings and terrain w.re studied to explore the effects of turbulence on flying aircraft, especially during landing. The cFD simulation show.d that significant differences in w.nd speeds may occur betw.en the north and the south runw.ys on the w.stern part of the HKIA under typhoon conditions w.th a strong north to northw.sterly w.nd. Simulation also show.d that the hanger buildings betw.en the tw. runw.ys on the w.stern side and the nearby terrain could be causing the observed difference in the w.nd speeds. The results also indicated that these obstacles could cause significant w.nd speed variations at the w.stern end of the south runw.y. This may affect the operation of landing aircraft. The cFD results for a typical typhoon case w.re analyzed and found to match the w.nd data recorded by an aircraft landing that day.
