Dynamic buckling mechanism of pillar rockbursts induced by stress w.ves

Rockbursts are sudden and violent rock failures that can lead to huge production and equipment losses,injury or death of mining *** has been regarded as one of the key mechanisms of rockbursts,w.ich are often induced by dynamic loads from mining excavations,such as drilling and blasting in underground *** paper attempts to investigate the dynamic buckling mechanism of pillar rockbursts in underground mining,by considering rockbursts as a dynamic stability problem of underground rock *** results include:(1)A new.explanation of the“sudden and violent”phenomenon of rockbursts,characterized by exponential grow.h of the amplitudes of transverse displacement responses,even in the presence of rock damping;(2)Identification of the critical role in inducing rockbursts of dynamic loads that bear frequencies approximately double the natural pillar frequency;(3)The greater influence on rockburst occurrence of the amplitude of dynamic component relative to the static component of loads;and(4)Quantification of the relative effects of stress w.veform of dynamic loads on pillar rockbursts,w.ich are in decreasing order if other parameters remain constant:rectangular,sinusoidal,and exponential *** examples are provided and limitations of the approach are *** research is motivated by the on-going and ubiquitous occurrence of rockbursts in underground excavations all around the *** contrast to conventional methods that use rock specimens or rock materials to study rockbursts,this investigation emphasizes the structural effects on rockbursts,w.ich has potential applications in hard rock mining engineering.

STIL enhances the development of lung adenocarcinoma by regulating the glycolysis pathw.y

Background:To investigate ScL/TAL 1 interrupting locus(STIL)’s role and prognostic significance in lung adenocarcinoma(LUAD)progression,w. examined STIL and E2 promoter binding factor 1(E2F1)expression and their impacts on LUAD prognosis using Gene Expression Profiling Interactive Analysis(GEPIA).Methods:Functional assays including ccK-8,w.und-healing,5-ethynyl-2-deoxyuridine(EdU),Transw.ll assays,and flow.cytometry,elucidated STIL and E2F1’s effects on cell viability,proliferation,apoptosis,and *** set enrichment analysis(GSEA)identified potential pathw.ys,w.ile metabolic assays assessed glucose ***:Our findings reveal that STIL and E2F1 are overexpressed in LUAD,correlating w.th adverse *** enhances cell proliferation,migration,and invasion,and suppresses apoptosis,activating dow.stream of *** E2F1 reversed the promotion effect of the STIL overexpression on cell viability and ***,STIL modulates glycolysis,influencing glucose consumption,lactate production,and energy balance in LUAD ***:Our model,incorporating STIL,age,and disease stage,robustly predicts patient prognosis,underscored STIL’s pivotal role in LUAD pathogenesis through metabolic *** comprehensive approach not only confirms STIL’s prognostic value but also highlights its potential as a therapeutic target in LUAD.

Local-contrastive-learning machine w.th both generalization and adversarial robustness: A statistical physics analysis

Distinct from human cognitive processing, deep neural netw.rks trained by backpropagation can be easily fooled by adversarial examples. To design a semantically meaningful representation learning, w. discard backpropagation, and instead, propose a local contrastive learning, w.ere the representations for the inputs bearing the same label shrink(akin to boson) in hidden layers,w.ile those of different labels repel(akin to fermion). This layer-w.se learning is local in nature, being biologically plausible.A statistical mechanics analysis show. that the target fermion-pair-distance is a key parameter. Moreover, the application of this local contrastive learning to MNIST benchmark dataset demonstrates that the adversarial vulnerability of standard perceptron can be greatly mitigated by tuning the target distance, i.e., controlling the geometric separation of prototype manifolds.

Turbulent Agglomeration of Microparticles in a cylinder w.ke Flow.Using LES-DEM:Focusing on the Effect of the Reynolds Number

Turbulent agglomeration is view.d as a promising technology for enhancing fine particle removal *** better understand particle transport,agglomeration behaviors,and fluid-particle interactions,w. numerically explored these phenomena under cylindrical vortex w.ke influence using a coupled large eddy simulation and discrete element method（LES-DEM） *** validity of the LES approach w.s verified by comparison w.th available direct numerical simulation（DNS） *** adopted the Johnson-Kendall-Roberts（JKR） contact model for particle-particle *** particle dispersion and agglomeration characteristics of particles w.th different diameters（dp=2-20 μm） in the laminar and transition of shear layer（TrSL） flow.regimes w.re *** particles w.re concentrated at the vortex centers,w.ile larger particles accumulated around the *** agglomeration efficiency exhibited an M-shaped profile spanw.se（y-direction）.w.th increasing Reynolds number,the agglomeration efficiency and turbulence intensity *** particle agglomeration efficiency peaks at a certain Reynolds ***,at higher Reynolds numbers,reducing the residence time of particles in the flow.field decreases the agglomeration efficiency.

Superhydrophobic and corrosion-resistant siloxane-modified MgAl-LDHs coatings on magnesium alloy prepared under mild conditions

w. have developed a superhydrophobic and corrosion-resistant LDH-w.PFDTMS composite coating on the surface of Mg *** composite comprised a tungstate-intercalated(LDH-w.underlayer that w.s grow. at low.temperature(relative to hydrothermal reaction conditions)under atmospheric pressure and an outer polysiloxane layer created from a solution containing perfluorodecyltrimethoxysilane(PFDTMS)using a simple immersion *** successful intercalation of tungstate into the LDH phase and the follow.ng formation of the polysiloxane layer w.re confirmed through X-ray diffraction(XRD),Fourier transform infrared(FTIR)spectroscopy,and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS).The corrosion resistance of the LDH-w.film,both before and after the PFDTMS modification,w.s evaluated using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS),Tafel curves,and immersion *** results show.d that Mg coated w.th LDH-w.PFDTMS exhibited significantly enhanced corrosion protection compared to the unmodified LDHw.film,w.th no apparent signs of corrosion after exposure to 3.5w.%Nacl solution for 15 ***,the LDH-w.PFDTMS coating demonstrated superior superhydrophobicity and self-cleaning properties against w.ter and several common beverages,as confirmed by static contact angle and w.ter-repellency *** results offer valuable insights into preparing superhydrophobic and corrosion-resistant LDH-based composite coatings on Mg alloy surfaces under relatively mild reaction conditions.

Visible-light-responsive homologous heterostructure of oxynitrides constructed to boost charge separation and w.ter splitting

constructing type II heterostructures represents a w.dely recognized strategy for enhancing charge separation and photocatalytic efficiency,but it remains challenging to fabricate homologous heterostructures based on visible-light-responsive semiconductors,especially for popularly investigated （oxy）nitrides w.th low.thermal ***,w. synthesized a homologous heterostructure （denoted as YTON＿H） based on the oxynitrides of YTaO4-xNyand YTa *** heterostructure exhibits type II band structure alignment and intimate interface achieved through a magnesium （Mg） pow.er-assisted nitridation *** w.th w.dely reported heterologous heterostructures,the as-obtained YTON＿H homologous heterostructure could similarly exhibit enhanced charge separation as w.ll as photocatalytic w.ter splitting performance w.th respect to its counterparts(YTaO4-xNyand YTaON2).Meanw.ile,detailed structural characterizations and spectroscopy analysis have been made to confirm the formation of heterostructure and promotion of spatial charge separation.

Experimental Study on Geometry characteristics of Turbulent Premixed Flames for Natural Gas/Air Mixtures

In this study,focusing on the geometry characteristics of spherical expanding flame,the turbulent premixed flames of natural gas/air mixtures w.re investigated in a fan-stirred turbulent *** effects of initial temperature（T=300-400 K）,initial pressure（P=0.1-0.3 MPa）,turbulence intensity（u'=1.0-2.7 m/s）,oxygen volumetric percentage(φ（O2）=15%-21%) and carbon dioxide volumetric percentage(φ（cO2）=0-20%)w.re delved *** flame profile under the cartesian coordinate system w.s derived from the schlieren images taken by the high-speed ***,from both macroscopic and microscopic perspectives,the influence of experimental conditions on the flame geometry characteristics w.s explored through flame front extraction,w.velet decomposition and netw.rk *** results demonstrate that for significant flame w.inkling,changes in species concentrations and turbulence intensity have more pronounced effects on the flame w.inkling *** w.inkling of the flame front maintains a certain degree of similarity,as evidenced by the locally concentrated distribution of the angles of the maximum fluctuation *** disturbance energy under large-scale（D6-D8） disturbances exhibits relatively high values w.th a similar trend,exerting a significant impact on the geometry characteristics of the flame *** peaks of correlation degree are scattered either w.th the decomposition scale or the development of flame radius,indicating no linear correlation betw.en different detail ***,the probability distribution of node degrees in key w.inkled regions exhibits different trends w.th that of large-scale w.inkling and disturbance energy,especially w.th changes in initial *** occurs because the number of key w.inkles varies based on the perturbation's strength or the region's ***,an increase in the fluctuation frequency of the flame's local radius may not necessarily lead to an increase in the number of key folded regions.

Recently, multirobot systems （MRSs） have found extensive applications across various domains, including industrial manufacturing, collaborative formation of unmanned equipment, emergency disaster relief, and w.r scenarios[1]. These advancements are largely supported by the development of consistency control theory. How.ver, traditional dynamicsfree models may cause instability in complex robotic systems. Lagrangian dynamics offers a better approach for modeling these systems, as it facilitates controller design and optimization analysis. Despite this, challenges persist w.th unknow. parameters and nonlinear friction w.thin the systems.

Multi-layer multi-pass friction rolling additive manufacturing of Al alloy:Tow.rd complex large-scale high-performance components

At present,the emerging solid-phase friction-based additive manufacturing technology,including friction rolling additive man-ufacturing(FRAM),can only manufacture simple single-pass *** this study,multi-layer multi-pass FRAM-deposited alumin-um alloy samples w.re successfully prepared using a non-shoulder tool *** material flow.behavior and microstructure of the over-lapped zone betw.en adjacent layers and passes during multi-layer multi-pass FRAM deposition w.re studied using the hybrid 6061 and 5052 aluminum *** results show.d that a mechanical interlocking structure w.s formed betw.en the adjacent layers and the adja-cent passes in the overlapped center *** friction and rolling of the tool head led to different degrees of lateral flow.and plastic deformation of the materials in the overlapped zone,w.ich made the recrystallization degree in the left and right edge zones of the over-lapped zone the highest,follow.d by the overlapped center zone and the non-overlapped *** tensile strength of the overlapped zone exceeded 90%of that of the single-pass deposition *** is proved that although there are uneven grooves on the surface of the over-lapping area during multi-layer and multi-pass deposition,they can be filled by the flow.of materials during the deposition of the next lay-er,thus ensuring the dense microstructure and excellent mechanical properties of the overlapping *** multi-layer multi-pass FRAM deposition overcomes the limitation of deposition w.dth and lays the foundation for the future deposition of large-scale high-performance components.
