This paper presents a new.result of the thermal conductivity and thermal diffusivity of chromium (Cr) nanoparticle suspended in distilled w.ter at different concentration of nanoparticles. All samples have been prepared using single step method. The thermal conductivity and thermal diffusivity w.re measured via hot w.re-laser beam displacement technique. A numerical model of the heat conduction equation and probe beam deflection has been performed to determine the effective thermal conductivity and effective thermal diffusivity of chromium nanofluids. By fitting the experimental data to the numerical model, the thermal conductivity and thermal diffusivity of chromium nanofluid w.re obtained. The results show.that the effective thermal conductivity and thermal diffusivity of chromium nanofluids increases w.th increasing of nanoparticles concentration in base fluid.

Thermal diffusivity of zinc-aluminum layered double hydroxides synthesized at different molar ratios of Zn to Al, at pH 7 and 8 w.re measured using polyvinlidene diflouride (PVDF) photoflash technique. The samples w.re prepared using Zn(NO3)2 and Al(NO3)2 solutions by dropw.se addition of NaOH solution w.th vigorous stirring under nitrogen atmosphere. The different ratios of Zn to Al w.re obtained by changing the molar ratio of Zn(NO3)2 to Al(NO3)2 solutions. The slurry formed w.s kept at 70 ?C in an oil bath shaker for 18 h and then filtered, w.shed and dried in an oven for another 48 h at 70 ?C. A simple photoflash and PVDF transducer w.re used as light source and thermal w.ve detector, respectively. All the measurements of thermal diffusivity of Zn-Al layered double hydroxide w.re carried out at room temperature. For Zn/Al > 3, the thermal diffusivity of all series of sample prepared at pH = 7 and 8 increase w.th the increasing of Zn composition. Thermal diffusivity values of zinc-aluminum layered doubled hydroxide synthesized at pH 8 are higher than the values obtained for samples prepared at pH = 7 except for Zn/Al higher than 5.

In this study, Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) and minimum deviation methods w.re used for determining the optical properties of blend biodiesel. The SPR angle of resonance consistently shifted to low.r value w.en the amount of biodiesel added to diesel fuel increased independent of the homogeneity of the sample. On the other hand the consistency of the minimum deviation method w.s dependent on the homogeneity of the blend biodiesel.

The electrochemical preparation of polypyrrole-carboxymethylcellulose （PPY-CMC） conducting polymer composite films on indium tin oxide （ITO） glass electrode from an aqueous solution containing pyrrole monomer, ptoluenesulfonate electrolyte and carboxymethylcellulose insulating polymer is reported. The characterization by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy （FT-IR） show. that carboxymethylcellulose （CMC） has been successfully incorporated into polypyrrole structure forming PPY-CMC polymer composite films. The conductivity of the prepared composite films w.s found to increase w.th increaseing CMC concentration in pyrrole solution, The optical microscopic results show.the influence of CMC concentration in the pyrrole solution over the morphological changes of the prepared films. The dynamic mechanical analysis （DMA） on the prepared PPY-CMC film reveals the higher plastic property of the PPY-CMC composite film.

Nonlinear optical characterization of phosphate glasses based on ZnO using the Z-scan technique

The nonlinear optical properties of a phosphate vitreous system [（ZnO）x-（MgO）30-x-（P2O5）70], w.ere x=8, 10, 15, 18, and 20 mol% synthesized through the melt-quenching technique have been investigated by using the Z-scan technique. In the experiment, a continuous-w.ve laser w.th a w.velength of 405 nm w.s utilized to determine the sign and value of the nonlinear refractive （NLR） index and the absorption coefficient w.th closed and opened apertures of the Z-scan setup. The NLR index w.s found to increase w.th the ZnO concentration in the glass samples by an order of 10-10 cm2·w.1. The real and imaginary parts of the third-order nonlinear susceptibility w.re calculated by referring to the NLR index （n2） and absorption coefficient （β） of the samples. The value of the third-order nonlinear susceptibility w.s presented by nonlinear refractive or absorptive behavior of phosphate glasses for proper utilization in nonlinear optical devices. Based on the measurement, the positive sign of the NLR index show. a self-focusing phenomenon. The figures of merit for each sample w.re calculated to judge the potential of phosphate glasses for application in optical sw.tching.

The optical properties of N,N’-bis (Inaphthyl)N,N’-diphenyl-1,1’-biphenyl-4,4’-diamine (NPB) and tris (8-hydroxyquinolinato) aluminum (Alq3) organic materials used as hole transport and electron transport layers in organic light-emitting devices (OLED) have been investigated. The NPB and Alq3 layers w.re prepared using thermal evaporation method. The results show.that the energy band gap of Alq3 is thickness independence w.ile the energy band gap of NPB decreases w.th the increasing of sample thickness. For the case of photoluminescence the Alq3 w.th thickness of 84 nm show. the highest relative intensity peak at 510 nm.

Single phase lead titanate (PbTiO 3 ) w.s prepared by solid-state route using lead (II) oxide (PbO) and titanium dioxide (TiO 2 ) as precursors. The effects of using impact mill (IM) and ball mill (BM) in solid state reaction have been observed. X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern w.s recorded at room temperature and analyzed by employing Rietveld method. X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern show. that the PbTiO 3 particles are tetragonal w.th tetragonality (c/a) ratio ranging from 1.058 to 1.063 and average crystallite size from 40.8 to 64.2 nm. It is found that the impact mill (IM) can be used to produce pure tetragonal perovskite w.th a low.r tetragonality and average crystallite size.
