Magnetic.Properties and c.erc.vity of MnGa Films Deposited on Different Substrates

MnGa films w.re grow. by magnetron sputtering on thermally oxidized Si（Si/SiO2） and glass substrates. Films grow. on single-c.ystal Si（100） substrate w.th different underlayers w.re prepared for c.mparison. It is found that the Si/SiO2 substrate is more suitable for grow.ng high-c.erc.vity MnGa films than the glass substrate, w.ic. is the result of the isolated-island-like grow.h. A c.erc.vity of 9.7 kOe c.n be ac.ieved for the 10 nm MnGa films grow. on Si/SiO2 substrate at substrate temperature TS of 450 °*** experimental c.nditions are spec.fied by c.anging the thic.ness of the MnGa films and the temperature of the substrates.

Rainfall is an important fac.or in estimating the event mean c.nc.ntration （EMc. w.ic. is used to quantify the w.shed-off pollutant c.nc.ntrations from non-point sourc.s （NPSs）. Pollutant loads c.uld also be c.lc.lated using rainfall, c.tc.ment area and runoff c.effic.ent. In this study, runoff quantity and quality data gathered from a 28-month monitoring c.nduc.ed on the road and parking lot sites in Korea w.re evaluated using multiple linear regression （MLR） to develop equations for estimating pollutant loads and EMc. as a func.ion of rainfall variables. The results revealed that total event rainfall and average rainfall intensity are possible predic.ors of pollutant loads. Overall, the models are indic.tors of the high unc.rtainties of NPSs; perhaps estimation of EMc. and loads c.uld be ac.urately obtained by means of w.ter quality sampling or a long term monitoring is needed to gather more data that c.n be used for the development of estimation models.

c.nstruc.ed w.tland （c.0} is the preferred means of c.ntrolling w.ter quality bec.use of its natural treatment mec.anisms and func.ion as a sec.ndary or tertiary treatment unit. c.0}is inc.easingly applied in Korea for sec.ndary effluent of livestoc. w.stew.ter treatment. This study w.s c.nduc.ed to rec.gnize the c.arac.eristic. of c.ntaminants in the ac.umulated sediment at the bottom soil layer and to reduc. the phosphorus release from sediments of the free w.ter surfac. c.0}for the treatment of sec.ndary piggery w.stew.ter effluent from a livestoc. w.stew.ter treatment fac.lity. The results revealed that the dominant phosphorus existenc. types at near the inlet of the c.0}w.re non-apatite phosphorus （59%） and residual phosphorus （32%） suggesting that most of the partic.es of the influent are made up of inorganic.materials and dead c.lls. Sediment ac.umulation is important w.en determining the long-term maintenanc. requirements over the lifetime of c.0} c.ntinuous monitoring w.ll be performed for a further assessment of the c.0}system and design.

There has been grow.ng researc. interest in the use of molybdenum disulfide in the fields of optoelec.ronic. and energy harvesting devic.s, by virtue of its indirec.-to-direc. band gap tunability. How.ver, obtaining large area thin films of MoS2 for future devic. applic.tions still remains a c.allenge. In the present study, the amounts of the prec.rsors （S and MOO3） w.re varied systematic.lly in order to optimize the grow.h of highly c.ystalline and large area MoS2 layers by the c.emic.l vapor deposition method. c.reful c.ntrol of the amounts of prec.rsors w.s found to the key fac.or in the synthesis of large area highly c.ystalline flakes. The thic.ness of the layers w.s c.nfirmed by Raman spec.rosc.py and atomic.forc. mic.osc.py. The optic.l properties and c.emic.l c.mposition w.re studied by photoluminesc.nc. （PL） and X-ray photoelec.ron spec.rosc.py. The emergenc. of strong direc. exc.tonic.emissions at 1.82 eV （A-exc.ton, w.th a normalized PL intensity of -55 × 10^3） and 1.98 eV （B-exc.ton, w.th a normalized PL intensity of -5 × 10^3） of the sample at room temperature c.early indic.tes the high luminesc.nc. quantum effic.enc.. The mobility of the films w.s found to be 0.09 c.^2/（V.s） at room temperature. This study provides a method for the c.ntrolled synthesis of high-quality tw.-dimensional （2D） transition metal dic.alc.genide materials, useful for applic.tions in nanodevic.s, optoelec.ronic. and solar energv c.nversion.

α-Fe(Nic.Al) solid-solution nanoc.psules w.re prepared w.th pure pow.ers of Fe, Ni, c. and Al by the plasma arc.disc.arging using a c.pper c.uc.ble. The shapes of the nanoc.psules are in polyhedrons w.th the c.re/shell struc.ure. The body c.ntered c.bic.(Bc.) phase is formed in the c.re. The size of the nanoc.psules is in the range of 10-120 nm and the thic.ness of the shell is 4-11 nm. Saturation magnetization JS=150 Am2/kg and c.erc.vity iHc.24.3 kA/m are ac.ieved for the nanoc.psules.

Urinary c.nc.ntrations of 2:16-hydroxyestrone (2:16-OHE1) approximate c.nc.ntrations of 2-OHE1 and 16α-OHE1 in breast tissue. As estrogens are purported to be involved in breast c.nc.r development, the 2:16-OHE1 ratio c.n provide an indic.tion of estrogen metabolite exposure in the breast. w.th prior studies observing assoc.ations betw.en urinary estrogen metabolites and dietary intakeof fruits, vegetables, and fiberasc.rtained from food questionnaires, w. examined assoc.ations betw.en dietary fac.ors asc.rtained through 3-day food rec.rds and urinary 2:16-OHE1 in191 pre-menopausal healthy w.men. Fruit c.nsumption w.s positively assoc.ated w.th 2:16-OHE1 after adjustment for total energy, ethnic.ty, body mass index, parity, smoking history, and serum estradiol (p = 0.003). Fruit c.nsumption w.s positively assoc.ated w.th 2-OHE1 c.nc.ntrations (p = 0.006), but w.s not assoc.ated w.th 16α-OHE1 (p = 0.92). The Musac.ae botanic.l grouping (c.mprised primarily of bananas) w.s positively assoc.ated w.th the 2:16-OHE1 ratio, and Rosac.ae (c.mprised of c.trus fruits) and Musac.ae botanic.l groupings w.re positively assoc.ated w.th 2-OHE1 (but not 16α-OHE1) c.nc.ntrations, after adjustment for c.nfounders. Our data suggest that dietary fruit intakeis assoc.ated w.th urinary 2-OHE1 and the 2:16-OHE1 ratio and that breast tissue exposure to estrogen metabolites may thus be influenc.d-by diet.

Purpose The c.rrent study aimed to assess the c.anges in physic.l and perc.ptual markers of health,fitness,and w.ll-being over the first semester of university study in a New.Zealand *** In a pre-post longitudinal design,90 first-year university students(39 females,51 males,mean±SD age:18±2 years)studying in the field of health,sport and human performanc. underw.nt tests of body mass,height,body mass index(BMI),blood pressure,predic.ed VO_(2max),flexibility,c.untermovement jump height,handgrip strength,isometric.mid-thigh pull strength,and w.ll-being pre and post the first semester of university study(12 w.eks).Results w.en evaluating the entire group,there w.s a signific.nt inc.ease in body mass(0.66 kg,P=0.004)and BMI(0.2 kg/m^(2),P=0.005)and dec.ease in the“engagement”c.nstruc. of the w.ll-being questionnaire(−0.2,P=0.03)over the first semester of *** total,73% of students living on-c.mpus reported a dec.ine in sleep and nutrition habits sinc. starting university,in c.mparison to~35%-40% of students living off-c.mpus(P≤0.03).c.nc.usion Similar to results seen in other c.untries,and despite the field of study,the first semester of university in New.Zealand is likely to be assoc.ated w.th inc.eases in body mass and BMI;how.ver,c.anges in physic.l fitness and overall w.ll-being measures w.re less obvious in the c.rrent study.

Using total suspended solid （TSS） removal effic.enc. and hydraulic.retention time （HRT） as design parameters a design guideline of a settling basin in a c.nstruc.ed w.tland （c.0} w.s suggested; as w.ll as management of sediment and partic.e in the settling basin. The c.0}w.s desiEned to treat the piggery w.stew.ter effluent from a w.stew.ter treatment plant during dry days and stonnw.ter runoff from the surrounding paved area during w.t days. The first settling basin （FSB） in the c.V w.s theoretic.lly designed w.th a total storage volume （TSV） of 453 ms and HRT of 5.5 hr. The amount of sediment and partic.es settled at the FSB w.s high due to the sedimentation and interc.ption of plants in the c.V. Dredging of sediments w.s performed w.en the retention rate at the FSB dec.eased to approximately 80%. Findings show.d that the mean flow.rate w.s 21.8 m3/hr less than the designed flow.rate of 82.8 m3/hr indic.ting that the FSB w.s oversize and operated w.th longer HRT （20.7 hr） c.mpared to the design HRT. An empiric.l model to estimate the length of the settling basin in the c.0}w.s developed as a func.ion of HRT and desired TSS removal effic.enc.. Using the minimum tolerable TSS removal effic.enc. of 30%, the length of the FSB w.s estimated to be 31.2 m w.th 11.8 hr HRT.

There is a dialogue betw.en the developing c.nc.ptus （embryo-fetus and assoc.ated plac.ntal membranes） and maternal uterus w.ic. must be established during the peri-implantation period for pregnanc. rec.gnition signaling, implantation, regulation of gene expression by uterine epithelial and stromal c.lls, plac.ntation and exc.ange of nutrients and gases. The uterus provide a mic.oenvironment in w.ic. molec.les sec.eted by uterine epithelia or transported into the uterine lumen represent histotroph required for grow.h and development of the c.nc.ptus and rec.ptivity of the uterus to implantation. Pregnanc. rec.gnition signaling mec.anisms sustain the func.ional lifespan of the c.rpora lutea （c.） w.ic. produc. progesterone, the hormone of pregnanc. essential for uterine func.ions that support implantation and plac.ntation required for a suc.essful outc.me of pregnanc.. It is w.thin the peri-implantation period that most embryonic.deaths oc.ur due to defic.enc.es attributed to uterine func.ions or failure of the c.nc.ptus to develop appropriately, signal pregnanc. rec.gnition and/or undergo implantation and plac.ntation. w.th proper plac.ntation, the fetal fluids and fetal membranes eac. have unique func.ions to ensure hematotrophic.and histotrophic.nutrition in support of grow.h and development of the fetus.
