Due to rapidly developed resistance,pest management relies less on pyrethroids to control economically damaging infestations of the tarnished plant bug(TPB),Lygus lineolaris(Palisot de Beauvois)in cotton fields of ***,pyrethroid resistance remains prevalent in TPB *** study assessed the resistance levels in adult TPB to six common pyrethroids and *** TBPs were collected from wild host plants in late October after harvest in the Mississippi Delta region of the United *** on LCso values,the field-resistant TPBs displayed higher resistance to permethrin,esfenvalerate,and bifenthrin(approximately 30 fold)and moderate resistance toα-cyhalothrin,β-cyfluthrin,5-cypermethrin,and acephate(approximately 15 fold).Further investigations showed that the inhibitors of three detoxification enzyme,triphenyl phosphate(TPP),diethyl maleate(DEM),and piperonyl butoxide(PBO)had synergistic effects on permethrin,γ-cyhalothrin,and bifenthrin in resistant ***,elevated esterase,GST,and P450 activities were significantly expressed in fieldresistant ***,GST and esterase were reduced after 48 h exposure to certain pyrethroids at LCso *** synergistic and biochemical assays consistently indicated that P450 and esterase were involved in pyrethroid detoxification in *** study provides valuable information for the continued use of pyrethroids and acephate in controlling TPBs in cotton fields in the Mississippi Delta region of the United States.

Electrochemical oxidation is an effective method to degrade persistent organic ***,due to the limited catalytic activity of traditional thin film electrodes,the anodic oxidation process is slow and usually requires high energy ***,Ti/SnO_(2)-Sb electrode with regulated surface structure was reported to enhance the performance for electrochemical oxidation of persistent organic *** electrode deposited with SnO_(2)-Sb nanoneedles(Ti/N-SnO_(2)-Sb)showed higher oxidation *** kinetic constant for perfluorooctanoic acid(PFOA)oxidation was 2.0 h^(-1)and the total organic carbon removal rate was 81.7%(4 h)at a relatively low current density of 6 mA/cm^*** with Ti/SnO_(2)-Sb thin film and nanoparticles,Ti/N-SnO_(2)-Sb significantly improved the electrochemical active area and·Oh yield,and simultaneously reduced the electron transfer resistance,which enabled it to oxidize PFOA more rapidly even at a lower *** work provides a new strategy for promoting the electrochemical oxidation performance.

The presence of renewable energy resources in LV distribution networks may lead to a distribution transformer,also known as a Smart Transformer(ST),experiencing the bidirectional power ***,the ST must have the capability to operate in both ***,the reverse power is less as compared to the forward power,thus the design of ST with the same capacity in both directions increases the hardware cost and decreases the system *** paper proposes a hybrid-modular-ST(h-ST),composed of a mixed use of single active bridge-based series resonant converter and dual active bridge instead of complete use of uni-or bi-directional converter adopted in the conventional *** on the proposed h-ST,the impacts of power imbalance among cascaded modules in reverse operation mode are analyzed and then an effective solution based on reactive power compensation combined with the characteristics of the proposed architecture is *** simulation and experimental results clearly validate the effectiveness and feasibility of the theoretical analyses.

Layered rare-earth hydroxides(LREhs) draw wide research interest because of their peculiar crystal structure,rich interlayer chemistry and abundant functionality of the RE element,but are limited to the two categories of RE_(2)(Oh)_(5)A·nh_(2)O(A:typical of Cl^(-)or NO_(3)^(-)) and RE_(2)(Oh)_(4)SO_(4)·nh_(2)*** the other hand,rare-earth oxysulfates(RE_(2)O_(2)SO_(4)) have attracted attention due to their properties of large-capacity oxygen storage,low-temperature magnetism and luminescence,but their preparation procedure mostly involves toxic SO_(x) gases and/or complicated *** this work,RE_(2)(Oh)_(2)CO_(3)SO_(4)·nh_(2)O as a new family of LREhs(RE=Gd-Lu lanthanides and Y) were produced via hydrothermal reaction,from which phase-pure RE_(2)O_(2)SO_(4) was derived via subsequent annealing at 800℃ in air without the involvement of SO_(x),The compounds were thoroughly characterized to reveal the intrinsic influence of lanthanide contraction(RE^(3+) radius) on crystal structure,thermal behavior(dehydroxylation/decarbonation/desulfurization),vibrational property and crystallite *** analyzing the photoluminescence of Eu^(3+) and Sm^(3+)in the Gd_(2)O_(2)SO_(4) typical host it is found that the 617 nm(Eu^(3+),λ_(ex)=275 nm) and 608 nm(Sm^(3+),λ_(ex)=407 nm) main emissions can retain as high as ^(7)9.6% and 85.5%of their room-temperature intensities at 423 K,with activation energies of ~0.19 and 0.21 eV for thermal quenching,*** also indicates that both the phosphors have the potential for optical temperature sensing via the fluorescence intensity ratio(FIR) technology,whose maximum relative sensitivity reaches -2.70%/K for Eu^(3+)and 1.73%/K for Sm^(3+) at 298 K.

The development of effective and sustainable solutions for pleiotropic water purification becomes urgent and *** Fenton-like catalysts for activation of peroxymonosulfate(PMS)to purify organic wastewater show great *** this work,by tuning metal loading with an in-situ polydopamine coating strategy,oxygen vacancy-enriched Co_(3)O_(4) loading on N-doped carbon nanotubes(CNTs)were constructed to enhance PMS activation efficiency for pollutants ***,the obtained modified CNTs afford a well-developed N-containing network structure,which is further endowed with abundant Co(Ⅱ)/Co(Ⅲ)redox cycles and significant metal-carbon *** particular,the surface N doping in CNTs might induce the oriented enrichment of pollutants around the catalyst,which reduces the migration distance and correspondingly improves the utilization of reactive oxidative *** electron transfer efficiency of the catalyst can be further improved by incorporating oxygen vacancy-enriched Co_(3)O_(4).The performance results show that the optimal NC/Co-1 could mineralize 20×10^(-6)of bisphenol A(BPA)by almost 98%in 8 min.A low reaction activation energy(26.05 kJ·mol^(-1))in BPA degradation was demonstrated by the NC/*** importantly,NC/Co-1 can inherit excellent degradation performance towards oxytetracycline,2,4-dichlorophenol,and tetracycline,showing wide practical *** addition,by virtue of the photothermal conversion property,NC/Co-1 achieves an additive function for interfacial solar water evaporation(1.84 kg·m^(-2)·h^(-1),112.51%),showing impressive potential for clean water recovery under complicated environmental pollution conditions.

we examine electron kinetic effects in broadband-laser-driven back-stimulated Raman scattering(BSRS)bursts using particle-in-cell *** bursts occur during the nonlinear stage,causing reflectivity spikes and generating large numbers of hot ***-duration simulations are performed to observe burst events,and a simplified model is developed to eliminate the interference of the broadband laser’s random intensity *** the simplified model,we isolate and characterize the spectrum of electron plasma *** spectrum changes from a sideband structure to a turbulence-like structure during the burst.A significant asymmetry in the spectrum is *** asymmetry is amplified and transferred to electron phase space by high-intensity broadband laser pulses,leading to violent vortex-merging and generation of hot *** proportion of hot electrons increases from 6.76%to 14.7%during a single violent burst *** demonstrate that kinetic effects profoundly influence the BSRS evolution driven by broadband lasers.

Effect of Steam Treatment on the Catalytic Performance of ZSM-5 in the Co-conversion of Methanol and n-hexane to Aromatics

Steam pretreatment is a widely used method for modifying the acidity and structure of zeolites,thereby enhancing their catalytic *** study systematically investigated the effects of steam treatment on ZSM-5 zeolites at varying treatment temperatures and *** structural evolution of the catalysts was monitored using N2 adsorptiondesorption,X-ray diffraction,inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy,scanning electron microscopy,Nh3 temperature-programmed desorption,in situ pyridine infrared spectroscopy,and thermogravimetric *** characterization results revealed that mesopores were introduced into the ZSM-5 zeolite catalysts through dealumination induced using steam treatment at moderate temperatures(400 and 500℃).Moreover,compared with the parent catalyst,the steam-treated catalysts exhibited a lower amount of acid sites and relative crystallinity,while the n(Si)/n(Al)ratio *** the co-conversion of methanol and n-hexane in a fixed bed reactor at 400℃and 0.5 MPa(N2 atmosphere),with a weight hourly space velocity of 1 h−1 and a stoichiometric ratio of 1:1(Ch3Oh to n-hexane),the steam-treated catalysts displayed a prolonged catalyst ***,the parent zeolite had a lifetime of 96 h,while the catalyst treated at 500℃for 12 h had a lifetime of up to 240 ***,the steam-treated catalysts maintained stable n-hexane conversion and improved aromatic ***,these treated catalysts exhibited a lower deactivation rate than the parent catalyst,and would be conducive to industrial scale-up production.
