Based on guides RG 1.109, RG 1.111 published by United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission (USNRC), our research concentrates in assessing radiation doses caused by radioactive substances released from the nuclear power plant (NPP) Ninh thuan 1 under the scenario of normal operation using software package NRCDose72 provided by the USNRC. The database including the released radioactive nuclides, meteorology, terrain, population and agricultural production activities have been collected and processed to build the input data for the model calculation. The wind rose distribution obtained from the meteorological data in a five-year period from 2009-2013 showed that the radioactive nuclides released to environment spread in two main wind directions which are North East and South West. The X/Q (s/m3) and D/Q (s/m2) qualities which are, respectively, the ratio of activity concentration to release rate and that of deposition density of radioactive nuclides to release rate were calculated within an area of 80 km radius from the NPP site using XOQDOQ. Population doses were calculated using GASPAR. The XOQDOQ and GASPAR are two specific softwares in NRCDose72 package.

Objective: To isolate a-mangostin(AMG) from the peels of mangosteen(Garcinia mangostana L.), grown in Vietnam, and to investigate antibiofilm activity of this compound against three Staphylococcus aureus(S. aureus) strains, one of which was methicillin-resistant S. aureus(MRSA) and the other two strains were methicillinsensitive S. aureus(MSSA).Methods: AMG in n-hexane fraction was isolated on a silica gel column and chemically analyzed by HPLC and NMR. The antibiofilm activity of this compound was investigated by using a 96-well plate model for the formation of biofilms. Biofilm biomass was quantified using crystal violet. The viability of cells was observed under confocal microscopy using LIVE/DEAD bac Light stains. Biofilm composition was determined using specific chemical and enzyme tests for polysaccharide, protein and DNA. Membranedamaging activity was assayed by measuring the hemolysis of human red blood cells in presence of ***: The results indicated that the isolated AMG, with a purity that exceeded 98%,had minimal inhibitory concentrations in the range of 4.6–9.2 mmol/L for the three strains tested. Interestingly, the MSSA strains were more sensitive to AMG than the MRSA strain. Minimal bactericidal concentrations were 2-fold higher than the minimal inhibitory concentration values for the three strains, indicating that AMG was a bactericidal compound. AMG also prevented biofilm formation effectively, albeit that again the MRSA strain was the most resistant. Interestingly, biofilms of the MRSA strain contained protein as a main component of the extracellular matrix, whereas this was polysaccharide in the MSSA strains. This might relate to the resistance of the MRSA 252 strain to *** using human red blood cells indicated that AMG caused significant membrane damage with 50% of cell lysis occurred at concentration of about 36 mmol/***: Our results provide evidence that the isolated AMG has inhibitory activity against biofilm formation

Overweight, obesity and associated factors among secondary school students in a northern city of Vietnam in 2011

Overweight and obesity is an emerging public health problem among school-aged children in bac Giang city in the Northen part of Vietnam recently. This study aims to identify overweight-obesity prevalence of secondary school children in this city and it’s associated factors. The study was a nested case control in a cross-sectional study design in 1528 secondary students selected from 4 secondary schools in 2 inner communes and 2 suburban communes of bac Giang city, Vietnam. Result: Overweight prevalence among secondary school students in bac Giang was 6.7%, the prevalence of obesity was 2.0%. Overweight and obesity is more prevalence in male students, inner communes and students from family have higher income and higher food expense. Overweight and obesity was associated with higher energy intake, more fat consumption, having supplement meals and bedtimemeal, increased physical activities and increased sleep duration. Conclusion: Education campaign targeting reducing overweight and obesity should target both parents about dietary adequacy and balance and children about more physical activities.

Objective:To investigate the protective potential of ethanolic extracts of Tetracera scandens L.(***) against CCl_4 induced oxidative stress in liver ***:Dried leaf powder of *** was extracted with ethanol and concentrated to yield a dry *** were administered with 100 mg/kg of ethanolic extracts orally once daily for one *** were subsequently administered with a single dose of CCl_4(I mL/kg body weight,intraperitoneal injection).Various assays,such as serum levels of alanine aminotransferase,aspartate aminotransferase,lipid peroxidation,protein oxidation(carbonyl protein group),tumor necrosis factor alpha,catalase,superoxide dismutase,and glutathione peroxidase,were used to assess damage caused by CCl_4 and the protective effects of the ethanol extract on liver ***:Hepatotoxicity induced by CCl_4 was evidenced by a significant increase in serum aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase level,lipid peroxidation,protein carbonyl group,and tumor necrosis factor alpha,as well as decreased activity of the hepatic antioxidant enzymes(*** *** glutathione peroxidase).Treatment with ethanolic *** extracts prevented all of these typically observed changes in CCl_4-treated ***:Our findings indicate that *** has a significant protective effect against CCl_4 induced hepatotoxicity in *** may be due to its antioxidant properties.

激进女性主义将运动中性别不平等的根源视为父权制的结果。激进女性主义在体育领域对父权制的批判,主要集中在父权制暗含的男性身体优越性、父权制下的体育权力机构以及女性体育的男性中心取向等3个方面。激进女性主义认为,性别气质是社会建构的结果,并且可以通过运动予以解构和重建;女性对男性传统体育项目的参与挑战了传统的性别理解,同时,男性参与女性传统项目对于其人格的完整发展也是有益的。从本质上讲,激进女性主义所运用的是一种文化分析的方法,其力图通过对运动意义和流行方式的重新界定来实现实质性的性别平等。
