Background: Appropriat. sample request.ng, collect.ng and t.mely dispat.h.t. t.0} appropriat. laborat.ry is essent.al in est.blish.ng diagnosis of pat.0}logies wit.0}lesions. Much.t.me and effort.may be wast.d if t.0}s is not.done according t. cert.in st.ndards. We conduct.d t.0}s st.dy t. assess t.0} rout. of lymph.node samples from request. t. reach.ng t.0} laborat.ries. Met.0}ds: We conduct.d an audit.over a period from 4t.0}June unt.l 10t.0}Aug 2023. Dat. for all t.0} procedures performed over t.0}s period on lymph.node samples (was ent.red int. and analysed using Excel. Result.: A t.t.l of eigh.een samples for sixt.en pat.ent. were obt.ined during t.0}s period. Median age of t.0} pat.ent. was 34 years (19 - 73) wit.0}a M:F rat.o of 5:11. Among t.0} IR samples, nine samples were from t.0} neck, t.0}ee from inguinal area and one from axilla. Seven samples (53.8%) were t.u-cut.biopsies, six samples (46.15%) were FNA. All samples were sent.t. t.0} pat.0}logy laborat.ry fixed in formalin. Samples for t. were sent.only for five cases (31.25%) and for only t.o cases (12.5%) were samples sent.for bact.rial cult.re. For t.0} OR samples, none were sent.for eit.0}r bact.rial cult.re or t.. Overall, eigh. pat.ent. (50%) were not.invest.gat.d for any infect.ous et.ologies like brucella, t.xoplasmosis, CMV, EBV plus ot.0}r possible causes. Repeat.sampling was required for 25% of pat.ent. (wit.0}n and out.of t.0} audit.period). Conclusions: t. avoid delays in making diagnoses, it.is paramount.t. consider infect.ous et.ologies as possible diagnosis for lymph.denopat.0} and request.appropriat. invest.gat.ons. t.0}s requires liaising wit.0}infect.ous diseases/clinical microbiology expert. t. guide regarding t.pes of samples, t.pes of media and t.mely dispat.h.t. t.0} correct.laborat.ry.
