Combined Add-on Supplementation of Omega-3 Fatty Acids, vitamin E, vitamin A, Copper, and Selenium in Rheumatoid Arthritis

Objectives: The present study evaluated the effects of a combined nutritional supplement, containing omega-3 fatty acids (ω-3 FA) and different antioxidative micronutrients on nutrient status and disease activity in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Methods: The study was conducted as a double-blind, randomised placebo-controlled trial. A hundred patients with defined RA were allocated to the verum or placebo group. During a period of twelve weeks they were given three capsules of their specific study supplementation every day. The daily dosage of ω-3 FA was 1.35 g (thereof 900 mg eicosapentaenoic acid, EPA), 90 mg vitamin E, 600 μg vitamin A, 3 mg copper, and 75 μg selenium, or soy oil (placebo), respectively. Outcome variables were the changes in DAS 28, the number of tender and swollen joints, morning stiffness, and supply with different nutrients (e.g. serum concentration of EPA, AA and vitamin E), as well as blood lipid levels. Results: Sixty-four participants were included in this analysis: 30 receiving verum and 34 placebo. After twelve weeks of intervention, little but not significant improvements were observed in the DAS 28 and other clinical factors. Subgroup analysis revealed that the effect was much more pronounced in patients who were at least at a moderate activity of illness. Regarding the nutritional status, the serum concentration of EPA (P vitamin E (P vitamin E, SOD and GPx improved significantly, equivalent to an increased antioxidant defence. Coronavirus disease-2019(COviD-19)has affected more than 200 countries *** disease has hugely affected healthcare systems as well as the economy to an extent never seen *** date,COviD-19 infection has led to about 165000 deaths in 150 *** present,there is no specific drug or efficient treatment for this *** this analysis based on evidential relationships of the biological characteristics of MSCs,especially umbilical cord(UC)-derived MSCs as well as the first clinical trial using MSCs for COviD-19 treatment,we discuss the use of UC-MSCs to improve the symptoms of COviD-19 in patients.

An improved CRNN for vietnamese Identity Card Information Recognition

This paper proposes an enhancement of an automatic text recognition system for extracting information from the front side of the vietnamese citizen identity(CID)***,we apply Mask-RCNN to segment and align the CID card from the ***,we present two approaches to detect the CID card’s text lines using traditional image processing techniques compared to the EAST ***,we introduce a new end-to-end Convolutional Recurrent Neural Network(CRNN)model based on a combination of Connectionist Temporal Classification(CTC)and attention mechanism for vietnamese text recognition by jointly train the CTC and attention objective functions *** length of the CTC’s output label sequence is applied to the attention-based decoder prediction to make the final label *** process helps to decrease irregular alignments and speed up the label sequence estimation during training and inference,instead of only relying on a data-driven attention-based encoder-decoder to estimate the label sequence in long *** may directly learn the proposed model from a sequence of words without detailed *** evaluate the proposed system using a real collected vietnamese CID card dataset and find that our method provides a 4.28%in WER and outperforms the common techniques.

An isogeometric analysis approach for dynamic response of doubly-curved magneto electro elastic composite shallow shell subjected to blast loading

For the first time, the isogeometric analysis(IGA) approach is used to model and analyze free and forced vibrations of doubly-curved magneto-electro-elastic(MEE) composite shallow shell resting on the visco-Pasternak foundation in a hygro-temperature environment. The doubly-curved MEE shallow shell types include spherical shallow shell, cylindrical shallow shell, saddle shallow shell, and elliptical shallow shell subjected to blast load are investigated. The Maxwell equation and electromagnetic boundary conditions are used to determine the vary of the electric and magnetic potentials. The MEE shallow shell's equations of motion are derived from Hamilton's principle and refined higher-order shear theory. Then, the IGA method is used to derive the laws of natural frequencies and dynamic responses of the shell under various boundary conditions. The accuracy of the model and method is verified through reliable numerical comparisons. Aside from this, the impact of the input parameters on the free and forced vibration of the doubly-curved MEE shallow shell is examined in detail. These results may be useful in the design and manufacture of military structures such as warships, fighter aircraft, drones and missiles.

This paper presents the application of an artificial neural network to develop an approach to determine and study the energy-optimal wing kinematics of a hovering bionic hawkmoth model.A three-layered artificial neural network is used for the rapid prediction of the unsteady aerodynamic force acting on the wings and the required *** this artificial network is integrated into genetic and simplex algorithms,the running time of the optimization process is reduced *** validity of this new approach is confirmed in a comparison with a conventional method using an aerodynamic model based on an extended unsteady vortex-lattice method for a sinu soidal wing kinematics *** studying the obtained results,it is found that actual hawkmoths do not hover under an energy-optimal ***,by tilting the stroke plane and lowering the wing positions,they can compromise and expend some energy to enhance their maneuverability and the stability of their flight.

Dimensionality reduction and prediction of soil consolidation coefficient using random forest coupling with Relief algorithm

The consolidation coefficient of soil(C_(v))is a crucial parameter used for the design of structures leaned on soft *** general,the C_(v) is determined experimentally in the ***,the experimental tests are time-consuming as well as ***,researchers tried several ways to determine C_(v) via other simple soil *** this study,we developed a hybrid model of Random Forest coupling with a Relief algorithm(RF-RL)to predict the C_(v) of *** conduct this study,a database of soil parameters collected from a case study region in vietnam was used for *** performance of the proposed models was assessed via statistical indicators,namely Coefficient of determination(R^(2)),Root Mean Squared Error(RMSE),and Mean Absolute Error(MAE).The proposal models were constructed with four sets of soil variables,including 6,7,8,and 13 *** results revealed that all models performed well with a high performance(R^(2)>0.980).Although the RF-RL model with 13 variables has the highest prediction accuracy(R^(2)=0.9869),the difference compared with other models was negligible(i.e.,R^(2)=0.9824,0.9850,0.9825 for the cases with 6,7,8 inputs,respectively).Thus,it can be concluded that the hybrid model of RF-RL can be employed to predict C_(v) based on the basic soil parameters.

The response of tunnels subjected to seismic loading is a complex mechanism and depends not only on the seismic nature but also on tunnel structure and surrounding soil *** individual behavior of circular,rectangular,and sub-rectangular tunnels subjected to seismic loadings has already been studied in the *** the present research,two case scenarios of circular,rectangular tunnels and four sub-rectangular shaped tunnels,with similar cross-section areas,were adopted to perform a comprehensive numerical *** purpose of the study was to determine the mechanical behavior of tunnels of different shapes,depending upon seismic *** were performed by considering the influence of soil-lining interaction,soil parameters,and lining thickness,as well as lining *** were performed for no-slip and full-slip *** results indicate that the tunnel shape design is of great importance when regarding the mechanical behavior of the surrounding *** concerns no-slip as well as full-slip soil-lining interaction,especially when the lining is subjected to seismic ***,it is shown that changes in incremental bending moments for circular,rectangular and sub-rectangular tunnels that depend upon the soil-lining interaction conditions differ significantly.
