Objective:To investigate the efficacy of frankincense and myrrha in the treatment of acute interstitial cystitis/painful bladder syndrome(IC/PBS).Methods:The effects of frankincense and myrrha on the proliferation and migration of primary human urothelial cells(HUCs)were assessed in *** the animal study,48 virgin female rats were randomized into 4 groups(12 in each group):(1)control group(saline-injected control);(2)cyclophosphamide(CYP)group(intraperitoneal injected 150 mg/kg CYP);(3)CYP+pentosan polysulfate sodium group(orally received 50 mg/kg pentosan polysulfate sodium);and(4)CYP+frankincense and myrrha group[orally received frankincense(200 mg/kg)and myrrha(200 mg/kg)].Rats orally received pentosan polysulfate sodium or frankincense and myrrha on day 1,2,and *** experiments were performed on day *** and cystometry assessment behavior test were *** interval values were assessed in rats under ***,immunohistochemistry and Western blot were used to confirm the location and level,respectively,of cell junction-associated protein zonula occludens-2(ZO-2)***:Low dose frankincense and myrrha increased cell proliferation and migration in HUCs compared with control(P<0.05).Rats with acute IC/PBS rats exhibited lower voiding interval values,pain tolerance,and ZO-2 expression(P<0.05).Voiding interval values and pain tolerance were higher in the frankincense and myrrha group than CYP group(P<0.05).ZO-2 expression in the bladder was increased in the CYP+pentosan polysulfate and frankincense+myrrha groups compared with the CYP-induced acute IC/PBS group(P<0.05).Conclusion:frankincense and myrrha modulate urothelial wound healing,which ameliorates typical features of acute IC/PBS in rats.

Imprecise excision of P element is widely used in Drosophila to disrupt nearby ***,this is the only transposon reported for such an application so far,while no similar approach has been documented in ***2 transposon has been successfully introduced in zebrafish(Danio rerio) and lots of transgenic fish have been created via Tol2 *** this report,we tested the excision efficiency of this transposon using a transgenic fish line Et(lmo2:eGFP),in which Tol2 transposon had inserted at 243bp upstream of *** injecting Tol2 transposase mRNA to homozygous Et(lmo2:eGFP) embryos,we obtained mosaic founders and crossed them with wild type *** GFP-negative embryos and embryos with GFP patterns distinct from the original one were observed,indicating that Tol2 had jumped out from the original *** excision efficiency of Tol2 transposon from zebrafish genome was about 40%by this *** results of footprints showed that imprecise excisions with small deletions or additions happened with some of Tol2 jump out *** identified a 1kb genomic deletion flanking Tol2 5' terminal out of 59 founder *** our knowledge,this is the first report of identification of large genomic deletions induced by imprecise transposon excision in verte- *** result suggests that Tol2 transposon "jump out" could be a new approach for mutagenesis in zebrafish.

Comparisons of Subjective and Objective Measures of Free-Living Daily Physical Activity and Sedentary Behavior in College Students

Purpose To compare physical activity and sedentary behavior between four commonly used subjective and objective meas-ures:the 7-day Physical Activity Recall (7DPAR),International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ),pedometer,and *** A total of 130 college students completed four measures for the same 7 *** composition was measured using a bioelectric impedance *** signed rank tests and Spearman correlations were performed to compare estimates between activity *** Spearman correlations between different activity measures were further examined separately for the higher and the lower body fat *** Compared with accelerometer-derived data,both the 7DPAR and the IPAQ overestimated light physical activity(P < 0.001) while underestimated sedentary behavior (P < 0.001).Across comparisons,the highest correlation was found between accelerometers and pedometers on steps/day (r =0.72,P < 0.001).The 7DPAR and the IPAQ were correlated with each other for all physical activity variables and sedentary behavior (r =0.37-0.45).There were low correlations (r=0.20-0.47) between the 7DPAR,the IPAQ,and accelerometers in sedentary behavior,light physical activity,and vigorous physical *** correlations between different activity modalities were observed among individuals with lower body fat(r=0.41-0.80) than among those with higher body fat (r=0.31-0.65).Conclusions The 7DPAR and the IPAQ yielded comparable estimation of moderate physical activity relative to *** were significant differences in sedentary time across activity *** compositions should be considered when comparing the estimates of activity levels between subjective and objective instruments.

BACKGROUND Right-sided ligamentum teres(RSLT)is often associated with portal venous anomalies(PVA)and is regarded as a concerning feature for hepatobiliary *** studies consider RSLT to be one of the causes of left-sided gallbladder(LGB),leading to the hypothesis that LGB must always be present with ***,some cases have shown that right-sided gallbladder(RGB)can also be present in livers with *** To highlight the rare variation that RSLT may not come with LGB and to determine whether ligamentum teres(LT)or gallbladder location is reliable to predict *** This study retrospectively assessed 8552 contrast-enhanced abdominal computed tomography examinations from 2018 to 2021[4483 men,4069 women;mean age,59.5±16.2(SD)years].We defined the surrogate outcome as major *** cases were divided into 4 subgroups according to gallbladder and LT *** one hand,we analyzed PVA prevalence by LT locations using gallbladder location as a controlled variable(n=36).On the other hand,we controlled LT location and computed PVA prevalence by gallbladder locations(n=34).Finally,we investigated LT location as an independent factor of PVA by using propensity score matching(PSM)and inverse probability of treatment weighting(IPTW).RESULTS We found 9 cases of RSLT present with *** the LGB cases,RSLT is associated with significantly higher PVA prevalence than typical LT[80.0%vs 18.2%,P=0.001;OR=18,95%confidence interval(CI):2.92-110.96].When RSLT is present,we found no statistically significant difference in PVA prevalence for RGB and LGB cases(88.9%vs 80.0%,P>0.99).Both PSM and IPTW yielded balanced cohorts in demographics and gallbladder *** RSLT group had a significantly higher PVA prevalence after adjusted by PSM(77.3%vs 4.5%,P<0.001;OR=16.27,95%CI:2.25-117.53)and IPTW(82.5%vs 4.7%,P<0.001).CONCLUSION RSLT doesn't consistently coexist with *** can predict PVA independently while the gallbladder location does not serve as a suf

Evaluation of the effect of partial splenic embolization on platelet values for liver cirrhosis patients with thrombocytopenia

AIM： TO investigate the effect of partial splenic embolization （PSE） on platelet values in liver cirrhosis patients with thrombocytopenia and to determine the effective embolization area for platelet values improvement.METHODS： Blood parameters and liver function indicators were measured on 10 liver cirrhosis patients （6 in child-Pugh grade A and 4 in grade B） with thrombocytopenia （platelet values 〈 80 × 10^3/μL） before embolization. Computed tomography scan was also needed in advance to acquire the splenic baseline. After 2 to 3 d, angiography and splenic embolization were performed. A second computed tomography scan was made to confirm the embolization area after 2 to 3 wk of embolization. The blood parameters of patients were also examined biweekly during the 1 year follow-up period. RESULTS： According to the computed tomography images after partial splenic embolization, we divided all paUents into two groups： low （〈 30%）, and high （≥ 30%） embolization area groups. The platelet values were increased by 3 times compared to baseline levels after 2 wk of embolization in high embolization area group. In addition, there were significant differences in platelet values between low and high embolization area groups. GPT values decreased significantly in all patients after 2 wk of embolization. The improvement in platelet and GPT values still persisted until 1 year after PSE. In addition, 3 of 4 （75%） child-Pugh grade B patients progressed to grade A after 2 mo of PSE. The complication rate in 〈 30% and ≥30% embolization area groups was 50% and 100%, respectively. CONCLUSION： Partial splenic embolization is an effective method to improve platelet values and GPT values in liver cirrhosis patients with thrombocytopenia and the ≥ 30% embolization area is meaningful for platelet values improvement. The relationship between the complication rate and embolization area needs further studies.

Objective: This study aims to evaluate the impact and potential prognostic roles of the pre- and post-treatment Glasgow prognostic score (GPS) and the change thereof in patients with advanced head and neck cancer undergoing concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT). Methods: We collected GPS and clinicopathological data of 139 stage III, IVA, and IVB head and neck cancer patients who underwent CCRT between 2008 and 2011. Their GPSs pre- and post-CCRT and the change thereof were analyzed for correlations with recurrence and survival. Results: The GPS changed in 72 (51.8%) patients, with worse scores observed post-CCRT in 65 (90.3%) of the GPS changed patients. Patients in the improved GPS group showed a tendency toward better survival. From the multivariate analysis, the post-CCRT GPS level was an independent prognostic factor in addition to tumor stage. Conclusions: After CCRT, a high GPS was revealed to be an important predictor of survival for advanced head and neck cancer.

The Study of IgG Subclass Profiles of Anti-HBc in Populations with Different Status of HBV Infection

To study IgG subclasses for the hepatitis B virus （HBV） core antigen （anti-HBc） in different populations, a comparison was made between 104 chronic carriers （60 male and 44 female） and 434 recovered individuals （247 male and 192 female）. Biochemistry analyses of AST （aspartate aminotransferase） and ALT （alanine aminotransferase） were also performed. Among the 104 chronic carriers, 21 patients were found to be ALT and AST abnormal （〉 25 IU/ml）. After comparing these ALT and AST abnormal patients with other ALT and AST normal chronic carriers, no statistical difference was observed in the OD values of the anti-HBe （p 〉 0.05）. The ELISA results showed the anti-HBc IgG subclass pattern was IgG1 〉 IgG3 〉 IgG4 in chronic carriers and IgG3 〉 IgG1 〉 IgG4 in recovered individuals （p 〈 0.05）. This result suggests the IgG1/IgG3 ratio may be related with HBV status. However, in spite of the different anti-HBc IgG1/IgG3 patterns demonstrated in different populations, both anti-HBc IgG1 and IgG3 concentrations were significantly higher in chronic carriers （p 〈 0.05）. Therefore, both the anti-HBc IgG1/IgG3 ratio and their amounts differed. They may play a significant role in chronic carriers and recovered individuals. The anti-HBc IgG subclass profiles of chronic carriers were not changed regardless of liver inflammation, and were independent of sex and age.

分类学是认识生物体的一种工具,对生物体间系统关系的理解,种质资源利用的指南,也是一种交流用的普通语言。因此,分类处理需要反映这些关系的近期认识。在自然界,生物体只有两个绝对的单位:个体与种。一个种是一群个体被不可缺少的生殖关系相互联系成为的一个绝对单位。生殖隔离是种与种间的基本界限,同时也是生物演化过程中形成独立基因库(gene pools)的惟一因素。既然在种以上的分类群没有绝对界线,在种以上的任一分类处理都不可能避免人为性。虽然如此,仍然必须作出某些分类适应它们的描述、利用与(或)研究。这篇文章对小麦族分类群间生物系统关系的划分是基于遗传学的研究。我们分类处理的原则是:(1)反映这些种系统演化现今的理解;(2)便于种质资源的利用;(3)避免与传统处理有不必要的剧烈改变。
