BACKGROUND Using rat stomach perforation as a prototypic direct lesion applied in cytoprotection research,we focused on the first demonstration of the severe occlusion/occlusion-like syndrome induced by stomach *** revealed stomachinduced occlusion/occlusion-like syndrome corresponds to the previously described occlusion/occlusion-like syndromes in rats suffering multicausal pathology and shared severe vascular and multiorgan *** general point was particularly *** in all the described occlusion/occlusion-like syndromes with permanent occlusion of major vessels,peripheral and central,and other similar noxious procedures that severely affect endothelium function,the stable gastric pentadecapeptide BPC 157 was resolving *** To reveal the stomach perforation-induced general occlusion/occlusion-like syndrome and BPC 157 therapy *** The procedure included deeply anesthetized rats,complete calvariectomy,laparotomy at 15 min thereafter,and stomach perforation to rapidly induce vascular and multiorgan failure occlusion/occlusion-like *** 5 min post-perforation time,rats received therapy[BPC 157(10μg or 10 ng/kg)or saline(5 mL/kg,1 mL/rat)(controls)]into the perforated defect in the stomach).Sacrifice was at 15 min or 60 min post-perforation ***(gross and microscopy;volume)included:Brain swelling,peripheral vessels(azygos vein,superior mesenteric vein,portal vein,inferior caval vein)and heart,other organs lesions(i.e.,stomach,defect closing or widening);superior sagittal sinus,and peripherally the portal vein,inferior caval vein,and abdominal aorta blood pressures and clots;electrocardiograms;and bleeding time from the perforation(s).RESULTS BPC 157 beneficial effects accord with those noted before in the healing of the perforated defect(raised vessel presentation;less bleeding,defect contraction)and occlusion/occlusion-like syndromes *** 157 therapy(into the perforated defect),induced immediate

Management of obstructed defecation

The management of obstructed defecation syndrome(ODS) is mainly conservative and mainly consists of fiber diet, bulking laxatives, rectal irrigation or hydrocolontherapy, biofeedback, transanal electrostimulation, yoga and psychotherapy. According to our experience, nearly 20% of the patients need surgical treatment. If we consider ODS an "iceberg syndrome", with "emerging rocks", rectocele and rectal internal mucosal prolapse, that may benefit from surgery, at least two out of ten patients also has "underwater rocks" or occult disorders, such as anismus, rectal hyposensation and anxiety/depression, which mostly require conservative treatment. Rectal prolapse excision or obliterative suture, rectoceleand/or enterocele repair, retrograde Malone's enema and partial myotomy of the puborectalis muscle are effective in selected cases. Laparoscopic ventral sacral colporectopexy may be an effective surgical option. Stapled transanal rectal resection may lead to severe complications. The Transtar procedure seems to be safer, when dealing with recto-rectal intussusception. A multidisciplinary approach to ODS provides the best results.

Assumptions Regarding the Development of Selected Europe 2020 Objectives in Terms of Public Finances in the Slovak Republic and the Czech Republic

This paper uses regression analysis and econometric modeling foundations to track public expenditures in the Slovak Republic and the Czech Republic （Fejesova, 2011） and their influences on the development of the following two targets of the Europe 2020 Strategy： to increase the employment of the selected population groups to a predetermined percentage level and to reduce the number of people at risk of poverty. In addition to the selection of monitored indicators, we included other indicators from the social sphere, which are funded by mandatory national public expenditure budgets and which are expected to have a positive development in terms of improving the demographic structure of the country--the unemployment rate and the number of live births.

Each family has its own specifications and different volume of cultural capital which more or less stimulates the child development. Very specific is the case of book ownership in the family. The paper analyzes material and cultural environment of present-day families in the north-western part of Slovak republic. The author presents the results of observation of some material conditions in Slovak families with primary school children and finds out their impact on the children＇s school success.

Synthesis and Surface-Active Properties of Carboxymethylcellulose Esters Obtained by Microwave Assisted Transesterification of Vinyl Laurate

Polymeric biosurfactants were prepared by the transesterification reaction between vinyl laurate （VILA） and carboxymethylcellulose （CMC）. The reaction was performed in two different reaction media （（A） DMF/pTSA and （B） DMF/K2CO3） at various reaction conditions and using microwave radiation with controlled power as heating source. The obtained water-soluble VILA-CMC derivatives were characterized by FT-IR spectroscopy and their surface-active properties evaluated. All derivatives showed a very low esterification extent and moderate surface tension lowering effect. Nevertheless, they exhibited significant emulsifying efficiency comparable to that of the synthetic surfactant, Tween 20. The results suggested that suitable surface-active VILA-CMC derivatives can be prepared under microwave heating at low microwave power and reaction times in the range of few minutes, which represents a great advantage in comparison to transesterification reactions lasting up to 6 h at conventional heating.

The Study of Resistance of Cement Composites against Microbial Attack

The start and the course of bio-corrosion are conditioned by many factors which include biological effects like the influence of vegetation and microorganisms causing the deterioration of materials. The influence of bacteria causing the deterioration of concrete has been linked to the generation of biogenic sulphuric and nitric acids which originate in corrosion process by dissolution of calcium containing minerals from the concrete matrices. This paper primarily focuses on the investigation of influence of sulphur-oxidising bacteria Acidithiobacillus thiooxidans and sulphate-reducing bacteria Desulfovibrio desulfuricans at the resistance degree of cement composites. Various concrete composites with 5% addition of black coal fly ash as cement replacement as well as the reference samples without coal fly ash addition were studied in the experiments environments of sewage system proceeded during 90 days. The The laboratory experiments as well as experiments in situ in real corrosion was manifested by surface changes and weight changes of cement composites samples as well as changes in pH values of leachates. Considerable surface changes were detected in all investigated samples by microscopic methods. Crystals precipitated on concrete samples surface were identified by EDX as mixture of gypsum and ettringite. Changes of Porosity and Roughness of Concrete Surfaces Due to Microbial Corrosion

The issue of the building materials biocorrosion has a significant economic dimension because it results in the costly repair. The start and the course of corrosion are conditioned by many factors which undoubtedly include biological effects like the influence of vegetation and microorganisms causing the so called microbial corrosion. Microorganisms have also a considerable share in the decay and degradation of different building materials. The activity of sulphuratum is the keystone of many processes in nature and in industry. The sulphuric bacteria oxidize hydrogen sulphide produced by sulphate-reducing bacteria into sulphuric acid resulting in the acid or sulphate corrosion of cement stone. The paper is aimed on evaluation of porosity and roughness of concrete samples surface as elementary characteristics of microbial corrosion. After 4 months exposure to the real conditions in sewers deposition the changes were observed by confocal laser microscopy and consequently analyzed and interpreted.

A novel bisphosphine ligated Ag60 nanocluster,[{Cl@Ag12}@Ag48(dppm)12], has been dis-covered and characterized by X-ray crystallography. It consists of a central chloride located inside an icosahedral silver core layer, which is further encased by a second shell of 48 silver atoms/ions, which are capped with 12 bis(diphenylphosphino)methane (dppm) ligands. Due to lack of sufficient material the cluster could not be further characterized by other methods. DFT calculations were carried out on the cation [{Cl@Ag12}@Ag48(dppm)12]+ to determine if it corresponds to a superatom with a core count of n=58. The DFT optimized structure is in agreement with X-ray ndings, but the low value of the HOMO-LUMO gap does not support superatom stability.

The Influence of Magnetite Nanoparticles on Human Leukocyte Activity

In this contribution the influence of chemically synthesized magnetite particles coated by sodium oleate and PEG （MPEG）, and magnetosomes （MS） was gradually tested on the process of phagocytosis and the metabolic activity （lysozyme and peroxidase activity） in leukocyte. Lysozyme activity is oxygen-independent liquidation mechanisms of engulfed microorganism, peroxidase activity is oxygen-dependent one. The both tested samples MS and MPEG lysed leukocyte cells during incubation. MPEG with concentration 10 and 20 μg/mL lysed almost all leukocytes and their cell viability was in the 14 ± 0.05% range. On the other hand, MS begin to influence leukocytes activity at the concentration of 1 μg/mL and this influence grows with increasing concentration up to 20 μg/mL. MS are more suitable for biological applications than MPEG which are more aggressive material than MS and their using is unavailable for these types of the test mainly for the concentration 10 - 20 μg/mL.
