The extraction and movement of rock during mining operations is considered a possible trigger for slip along the *** this study,possible anthropogenic causes were analyzed for triggering the earthquake with the local magnitude ofML=6.1(at a depth of 4km just beneath the quarry),in the vicinity of the large coal open-pit mine in *** event was the largest earthquake associated with a quarry(an open pit).A sufficiently deep occurrence of the source testified that seismic vibrations were produced in a dynamic slip along a preexisting and prestressed tectonic *** calculations were conducted of increments of normal and shear stresses at fault planes with several dip angles at depths corresponding to the probable location of the hypocenter of the Bachat *** the results show,long-term rock excavations bring a prestressed thrust fault closer to the ultimate Coulomb strength,and stress variations at those depths may suffice to initiate a movement along the *** measuring seismic vibrations at different quarries and mines in Russia,the dynamic effect at the supposed depth of the source occurrence could be reliably *** is shown,the ultimate anticipated dynamic deformations are noticeably lower than corresponding values produced by seismic waves of distant earthquakes in the case when the effects of dynamic triggering were ***,the seismic effect of explosions cannot trigger a large earthquake with deep source *** in open-pit mines can only bring forward the moment of an earthquake at a potentially seismogenic *** the same time,the numerical calculations reveal that a branching network of underground tunnels located at several horizons can noticeably reduce the effective shear modulus of the host *** effect can even provoke a dynamic movement at a previously aseismic fault.

Safe disposal of high-level radioactive nuclear waste(HLW)is crucial for human health and the environment,as well as for sustainable *** geological disposal in sparsely fractured crystalline rock is considered one of the most favorable methods for final disposal of *** research has been conducted worldwide and many countries have initiated their own national development programs for deep geological *** advancements of national programs for deep geological disposal of HLW in crystalline rock have been achieved in Sweden and Finland,which are currently under site development stage,focusing on detailed site characterization,repository construction,and post-closure safety *** research and development remain important in the site development stage to ensure long-term safety of the HLW disposal *** work presents an overview and discussion of the progress as well as remaining open scientific issues and possibilities related to site development for safe disposal of HLW in crystalline *** emphasize that developing a comprehensive and convergent understanding of the coupled thermal,hydraulic,mechanical,chemical and biological(THMCB)processes in fractured crystalline rock remains the most important yet challenging topic for future studies towards safe disposal of HLW in crystalline *** in laboratory facilities/techniques and computational models,as well as available comprehensive field data from site developments,provide new opportunities to enhance our understanding of the coupled processes and thereby repository design for safe geological disposal of HLW in crystalline rock.

Aim:Benign prostatic hyperplasia and prostate cancer is an internationally important health problem of the man,particularly in developed *** aim of this exploratory study was to evaluate whether significant difference in the levels of Zn and some other trace elements of prostatic fluid exist between the inflamed and malignantly transformed ***:Prostatic fluid levels of Br,Fe,Rb,Sr,and Zn were prospectively evaluated in 52 patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia and 24 patients with prostate *** were performed using 109Cd radionuclide-induced energy dispersive X-ray fluorescent *** fluid samples were divided into two *** was used for cytological study to exclude prostatitis,while the other was intended for trace element ***:Mean values±standard error of means for concentration(mg/L)of trace element in the prostatic fluid of hyperplastic prostate were:Br 2.32±0.30,Fe 11.5±1.8,Rb 1.70±0.23,Sr 1.41±0.26,and Zn 488±*** contents of Rb and Zn were significantly lower(approximately 3.2 and 7.7 times,respectively)in fluid of cancerous prostate compared with those in fluid of hyperplastic ***:There are significant differences in trace element contents in the fluid of hyperplastic and malignantly transformed *** great decrease in levels of Rb and Zn in the fluid of cancerous prostate might demonstrate ;an involvement of these trace elements in etiology and pathogenesis of malignant prostate *** was supposed that the differences in Rb and Zn levels in prostatic fluid can be used as tumor markers.

The petrography and mineral composition of a mantle-derived garnet peridotite xenolith from the *** kimberlite pipe（Arkhangelsk Diamond Province,Russia） was *** on petrographic characteristics,the peridotite xenolith reflects a sheared *** sheared peridotite experienced a complex evolution with formation of three main mineral assemblages：（1） a relict harzburgite assemblage consist of olivine and orthopyroxene porphyroclasts and cores of garnet grains（Gar1） with sinusoidal rare earth elements（REE） chondrite C1 normalized patterns;（2） a neoblastic olivine and orthopyroxene assemblage;（3） the last assemblage associated with the formation of clinopyroxene and garnet marginal zones（Gar2）.Major and trace element compositions of olivine,orthopyroxene,clinopyroxene and garnet indicate that both the neoblast and clinopyroxene-Gar2 mineral assemblages were in equilibrium with a high Fe-Ti carbonate-silicate metasomatic *** nature of the metasomatic agent was estimated based on high field strength elements（HFSE） composition of olivine neoblasts,the garnet-clinopyroxene equilibrium condition and calculated by REE-composition of Gar2 and *** these evidences indicate that the agent was a high temperature carbonate-silicate melt that is geochemically linked to the formation of the protokimberlite melt.

Using a newly developed experimental setup,the features and advantages of an autothermal single-casing atmospheric sub-bituminous coal fluidized bed air-blown gasifier,combining a combustion and gasification section,and mixing the dispersed phase(inert material,char)and heat exchange between them through an annular transfer device,have been *** increase the efficiency of the gasifier,an experimental-computational method was developed find the conditions for optimal operation,combining changing the annular flow's geometry and regulating the primary air for gasification.A simple and reliable multizone thermodynamic calculation model makes it possible to predict the composition of char and syngas in the gasification section with acceptable *** method confirmed that a two-section fluidized bed gasifier can provide efficient gasification of solid fuels and is suitable for use in small-scale cogeneration *** with a heating value of 3.6-4.5 MJ/m^(3)and CGE of 38.2%-42.3%was obtained in the experimental setup without optimizing the primary air flow *** optimization,the indicators increased to the heating value of syngas of 5.20-5.34 MJ/m^(3)and CGE of 42.5%-50.0%.With heat regeneration of 0.8,CGE increases to 70%.

The present paper reports the results obtained for translational and rotational velocity profiles of spherical particles for the mixed flow in a conical *** discrete element method(DEM)based on Hertz-Mindlin(no slip)with RVD rolling friction contact model is used for *** correlations are found between translational and rotational velocities in different flow areas of the *** particular,the abrasion caused by rotation is dominant in the funnel flow *** addition,increase of the mass flow rate of silo can effectively reduce the abrasion induced by *** highlights that understanding of dynamic characteristics of particles is helpful for optimization of silos and reduction of granular material abrasion.
