The Effect of Quartz Window on Bistability of the Silicon Wafer in Lamp-Based Reactor

The effect of a quartz plate (window) on the silicon wafer temperature is studied in the conditions of the combined thermal transfer in a lamp-based chamber for the rapid thermal treatment (RTp) set up. The chamber for RTp is simulated by a radiative-closed thermal system including the influence of quartz window as a spectral filter of lamp emission and a source of emitted thermal radiation. Energy equations for thermal fluxes involved in the heat input and output from the working wafer and quartz window are solved in spectral approximation. The transfer characteristics that are defined by the temperature dependencies of the silicon wafer and the quartz window on the temperature of the heater are accounted. It is shown that temperature bistability in the silicon wafer initiates an induced bistability into the quartz window that does not reveal bistable behavior because of the linear temperature dependence of its total optical characteristics. A possibility for simulation of the quartz window by spectral restriction of the heater radiation is confirmed. The availability of the weak bistable effect in the mode of zero effective heat exchange coefficient of a non-radiative component of the thermal flux removed from the working wafer has been obtained.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the resolution of brain lesions in patients with Wilson’s disease during the long-term chelating therapy using magnetic resonance imaging and a possible signiifcance of the time latency between the initial symptoms of the disease and the introduction of this therapy. Initial magnetic resonance examination was performed in 37 patients with proven neurological form of Wilson’s disease with cerebellar, parkinsonian and dystonic presentation. Magnetic resonance reexamination was done 5.7 ± 1.3 years later in 14 patients. patients were divided into： group A, where chelating therapy was initiated 〈 24 months from the ifrst symp-toms and group B, where the therapy started≥ 24 months after the initial symptoms. Symmetry of the lesions was seen in 100% of patients. There was a signiifcant difference between groups A and B regarding complete resolution of brain stem and putaminal lesions （p= 0.005 andp=0.024, respectively）. If the correct diagnosis and adequate treatment are not established less than 24 months after onset of the symptoms, irreversible lesions in the brain parenchyma could be ex-pected. Signal abnormalities on magnetic resonance imaging might therefore, at least in the early stages, represent reversible myelinolisis or cytotoxic edema associated with copper toxicity.

We theoretically demonstrate a rich and significant new families of exact spatially localized and periodic wave solutions for a modified Korteweg–de Vries *** model applies for the description of different nonlinear structures which include breathers,interacting solitons and interacting periodic wave solutions.A joint parameter which can take both positive and negative values of unity appeared in the functional forms of those closed form solutions,thus implying that every solution is determined for each value of this *** results indicate that the existence of newly derived structures depend on whether the type of nonlinearity of the medium should be considered self-focusing or *** obtained nonlinear waveforms show interesting properties that may find practical applications.

Aerophobetes （or CD12） is a recently defined bacterial phylum, of which the metabolic processes and ecological importance remain unclear. In the present study, we obtained the draft genome of an Aerophobetes bac- terium TCSI from saline sediment near the Thuwal cold seep in the Red Sea using a genome binning method. Analysis of 16S rRNA genes of TCS1 and close relatives revealed wide distribution of Aerophobetes in deep-sea sediments. phylogenetic relationships showed affinity between Aerophobetes TCS 1 and some thermophilic bac- terial phyla. The genome of TCS1 （at least 1.27 Mbp） contains a full set of genes encoding core metabolic path- ways, including glycolysis and pyruvate fermentation to produce acetyl-CoA and acetate. The identification of cross-membrane sugar transporter genes further indicates its potential ability to consume carbohydrates preserved inthe sediment under the microbial mat. Aerophobetes bac- terium TCS1 therefore probably carried out saccharolytic and fermentative metabolism. The genes responsible for autotrophic synthesis of acetyl-CoA via the Wood-Ljung- dahl pathway were also found in the genome. phylogenetic study of the essential genes for the Wood-Ljungdahl pathway implied relative independence of Aerophobetes bacterium from the known acetogens and methanogens. Compared with genomes of acetogenic bacteria, Aero- phobetes bacterium TCS 1 genome lacks the genes involved in nitrogen metabolism, sulfur metabolism, signal trans- duction and cell motility. The metabolic activities of TCS 1 might depend on geochemical conditions such as supplies of CO2, hydrogen and sugars, and therefore the TCSI might be a facultative bacterium in anaerobic saline sedi- ments near cold seeps.

The aim of this investigation was to define the effectiveness of non-contact drying using ultrasonic vibrations. Disk radiators were used for carrying out experiments, and a special drying chamber was designed to provide resonant amplification of ultrasonic vibrations (from 130 to 150 dB). Drying of ginseng and other vegetables demonstrated that the application of ultrasonic vibrations reduced power inputs by 20% in comparison with convective drying. It also led to a decrease of 6% in final moisture content, if the duration of drying was constant. The level of intensification of ultrasonic drying was high (up to 50 g for 1 kg of drying material), which helped to lower the temperature of the drying agent and improve the quality of the dried products.

An efficient approach has been developed for the synthesis of 5,5＇-diaryl-2,2＇-bipyridines via their 1,2,4-triazine *** notable advantages of the present method are：The possibility of varying the aromatic substituents in the positions 5 and 5＇ of bipyridine core and the possibility for obtaining 2,2＇-bipyridines bearing a fused cyclopentene core to increase the solubility in organic *** 5,5＇-diaryl-2,2＇-bipyridines exhibited an intense emission in a range of ca.422-521 nm in acetonitrile solution;depending on the nature of the aromatic substituents and the presence of annulated cyclopentene *** from that,the significant bathochromic shifts of the both absorption and emission maxima were observed in comparison with a number of previously described similar *** some cases the significant increasing of the fluorescence quantum yields took place.

The phase transformation and magnetic hysteresis properties of melt-spun Fe41 pd41 B8 Si6 p4 ribbons subjected to the annealing at temperatures of 500-550℃were studied after holding for 0.1-60.0 h by transmission electron microscopy(TEM),X-ray diffraction(XRD)and thermomagnetic *** additions of p,B and Si to the Fepd alloy allowed us to achieve the coercivity of124 kA·m-1,which is 2.6 times higher than that of the melt-spun ribbons of the binary equiatomic Fepd *** high-coercivity Fe41pd41B8 Si6 p4 alloy is nanocrystalline and is composed of the ordered L10-phase grains approximately 40 nm in size and inclusions of the Fe2(p,B)and pd2(Si,B)*** coercivity kinetics is controlled by the phase transformation which can be divided into three stages:transformation from the bcc structure to nanosized regions of the fee and Fe2 p phases;transformation from the fee to L10 nanosized regions with somewhat different degrees of tetragonality and their ordering;and extensive growth of the weight fraction of L10 phase from the fee nanosized regions.p and B atoms occupy interstitial sites in the iron plane of L10 lattice,thus decreasing its Curie temperature(TC).
