Polyacrylate modiﬁed Cu electrode for selective electrochemical CO_(2) reduction towards multicarbon products

Highly selective production of value-added multicarbon(C^(2+))products via electrochemical CO_(2) reduction reaction(eCO_(2)RR)on polycrystalline copper(Cu)remains ***,the facile surface modification using poly(α-ethyl cyanoacrylate)(PeCA)is presented to greatly enhance the C^(2+)selectivity for eCO_(2)RR over polycrystalline Cu,with Faradaic efficiency(Fe)towards C^(2+)products increased from30.1%for the Cu electrode to 72.6%for the obtained Cu-PeCA electrode at-1.1 V *** hydrogen electrode(RHe).Given the well-determined Fes towards C^(2+)products,the partial current densities for C^(2+)production could be estimated to be-145.4 mA cm~(-2)for the Cu-PeCA electrode at-0.9 V *** in a homemade flow ***-situ spectral characterizations and theoretical calculations reveal that PeCA featured with electron-accepting-C≡N and-COOR groups decorated onto the Cu electrode could inhibit the adsorption of^(*)H intermediates and stabilize the^(*)CO intermediates,given the redistributed interfacial electron density and the raised energy level of d-band center(e_(d))of Cu active sites,thus facilitating the C-C coupling and then the C^(2+)selective *** study is believed to be guidable to the modification of electrocatalysts and electrodes with polymers to steer the surface adsorption behaviors of reaction intermediates to realize practical eCO_(2)RR towards value-added C^(2+)products with high activity and selectivity.

Methionine(Met)is an essential and first limiting amino acid in the poultry diet that plays a significant role in chicken embryonic development and *** present study examined the effect of in ovo injection of DL-Met and L-Met sources and genotypes on chicken embryonic-intestinal development and *** eggs of the two genotypes,TeTRA-SL layer hybrid(TSL)—commercial layer hybrid and Hungarian Partridge colored hen breed(HPC)—a native genotype,were randomly distributed into four treatments for each *** treatment groups include the following:1)control non-injected eggs(NoIn);2)saline-injected(SaIn);3)DL-Met injected(DLM);and 4)L-Met injected(LM).The in ovo injection was carried out on 17.5 d of embryonic development;after hatching,eight chicks per group were sacrificed,and the jejunum was extracted for *** results showed that both DLM and LM groups had enhanced intestinal development as evidenced by increased villus width,villus height,and villus area(Ped to the *** DLM group had significantly reduced crypt depth,glutathione(GSH)content,glutathione S-transferase 3 alpha(GST3),occludin(OCLN)gene expression and increased villus height to crypt depth ratio in the TSL genotype than the LM group(Pe HPC genotype has overexpressed insulin-like growth factor 1(IGF1)gene,tricellulin(MD2),occludin(OCLN),superoxide dismutase 1(SOD1),and GST3 genes than the TSL genotype(Pese findings showed that in ovo injection of Met enhanced intestinal development,and function,with genotypes responding differently under normal *** also influenced the expression of intestinal antioxidants,tight junction,and growth-related genes.

Post-CMOS processing challenges and design developments of CMOS-MeMS microheaters for local CNT synthesis

Carbon nanotubes(CNTs)can be locally grown on custom-designed CMOS microheaters by a thermal chemical vapour deposition(CVD)process to utilize the sensing capabilities of CNTs in emerging micro-and nanotechnology *** such a direct CMOS-CNT integration,a key requirement is the development of necessary post-processing steps on CMOS chips for fabricating CMOS-MeMS polysilicon heaters that can locally generate the required CNT synthesis temperatures(~650-900℃).In our post-CMOS processing,a subtractive fabrication technique is used for micromachining the polysilicon heaters,where the passivation layers in CMOS are used as masks to protect the *** dielectric etching,it is necessary to achieve high selectivity,uniform etching and a good etch rate to fully expose the polysilicon layers without causing *** achieved successful post-CMOS processing by developing two-step reactive ion etching(RIe)of the SiO2 dielectric layer and making design improvements to a second-generation CMOS *** the dry etching process,CMOS-MeMS microheaters are partially suspended by SiO2 wet etching with minimum damage to the exposed aluminium layers,to obtain high thermal *** fabricated microheaters are then successfully utilized for synthesizing CNTs by a local thermal CVD *** CMOS post-processing challenges and design aspects to fabricate CMOS-MeMS polysilicon microheaters for such high-temperature applications are detailed in this *** developed process for heterogeneous monolithic integration of CMOS-CNT shows promise for wafer-level manufacturing of CNT-based sensors by incorporating additional steps in an already existing foundry CMOS process.

Background: Tuberculosis (TB) is one of the top lethal infectious diseases worldwide. In recent years, interferon-γ (INF-γ) release assays (IGRAs) have been established as routine tests for diagnosing TB infection. However, produced INF-γ assessment cannot permit to distinguish active ATB from latent TB infection (LTBI), especially in TB epidemic areas. In addition to IFN-γ, interleukin-2 (IL-2), secreted by activated T cells, is involved in immune response against Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This could be involved in the follow up of treatment response. The aim of our study was to determine IFN-γ and IL2 cytokines profiles of patients under antituberculosis treatment. Materials and Methods: A six months’ cross-sectional study was conducted at the Jamot Hospital of Yaoundé, from May to August 2021. Sociodemographic and clinical data as well as 5 mL of blood were collected from each participant. INF-γ and IL-2 were determined using indirect enzyme linked Immuno-Sorbent Assay (eLISA) according to the manufacturer’s recommendations and spectrum exam in combination with radiography and GeneXpert were used as standard. P-values Results: The results showed that men were more infected 14/61 (31.8%) with a high presence in active and resistant TB groups. The mean age was 41.3 ± 13.1 years with a 95% CI = [38.2 - 44.7], the age group with the highest infection rate was ranged between 31 and 40 years. The IL-2 and INF-γ means were respectively 327.6 ± 160.6 pg/mL and 26.6 ± 13.0 pg/mL in ATB patients, 251.1 ± 30.9 pg/mL and 21.4 ± 9.2 pg/mL in patients with resistant tuberculosis, while it was 149.3 ± 93.3 pg/mL and 17.9 ± 9.4 pg/mL in cured patients, 15.1 ± 8.4 pg/mL and 5.3 ± 2.6 pg/mL in participants presumed healthy (p γ and IL-2rates were observed between the different groups. Conclusion: Monitoring the serum levels of INF-γ and IL-2 would be useful for the follow-up of anti-tuberculosis patients, particularly in the both cytokines association case.

Management of Vulnating esophageal Foreign Bodies in Burkina Faso

Introduction: esophageal foreign bodies (eFB) are a diagnostic and therapeutic emergency because of the serious complications they can cause. Aim: This paper aimed to study the vulnating esophageal foreign bodies in the eNT and Head and Neck Surgery departments of the Yalgado Ouedraogo and Bogodogo University Hospital. Methodology: This was an analytic cross-sectional study with retrospective data collection over 10 years (2012-2021). Results: We collected 91 cases of vulnating esophageal foreign bodies, i.e. 9.1 cases/year (4.7%). The mean age of the patients was 14 ± 19 years. The sex ratio was 1.6. The circumstances of occurrence were dominated by accidental ingestion of vulnating esophageal foreign bodies (98.9%). The average time to consultation was 7.5 hours. Dysphagia was the dominant symptom (64.8%). Cervico-thoracic radiography found dual contour radiopaque images in 71.4%. esophagoscopy with rigid tube was performed in 97.8%. The average time for extraction of the vulnating esophageal foreign bodies was 8 hours. Vulnerating esophageal foreign bodies were non-organic in 84.6%. The button cell represented 64.8%. Their location was cervical in 61.5% intraoperatively. The lesion assessment found ulcerative lesions in 42.9% (p Conclusion: Vulnating esophageal foreign bodies are relatively frequent in our eNT practice. Although their diagnosis is often easy, their treatment is still difficult and requires multidisciplinary management. Thus, for us, prevention remains the first effective weapon.

Blood Pressure and Heart Rate Measurements Using Photoplethysmography with Modified LRCN

In this study,single-channel photoplethysmography(PPG)signals were used to estimate the heart rate(HR),diastolic blood pressure(DBP),and systolic blood pressure(SBP).A deep learning model was proposed using a long-term recurrent convolutional network(LRCN)modified from a deep learning algorithm,the convolutional neural network model of the modified inception deep learning module,and a long short-term memory network(LSTM)to improve the model’s accuracy of BP and HR *** PPG data of 1,551 patients were obtained from the University of California Irvine Machine Learning *** to design a filter of PPG signals and how to choose the loss functions for deep learning model were also discussed in the ***,the stability of the proposed model was tested using a 10-fold cross-validation,with an MAe±SD of 2.942±5.076 mmHg for SBP,1.747±3.042 mmHg for DBP,and 1.137±2.463 bpm for the *** with its existing counterparts,the model entailed less computational load and was more accurate in estimating SBP,DBP,and *** results established the validity of the model.

Plume-lithosphere interaction in the Comei Large Igneous Province: evidence from two types of mafic dykes in Gyangze, south Tibet, China

Two suites of mafic dykes,T1193-A and T1194-A,outcrop in Gyangze area,southeast *** are in the area of Comei LIP and have indistinguishable field occurrences with two other dykes in Gyangze,T0902 dyke with 137.7±1.3 Ma zircon age and T0907 dyke with 142±1.4 Ma zircon age reported by Wang YY et al.(2016),indicating coeval formation *** all the four diabase dykes into consideration,two different types,OIB-type and weak enriched-type,can be ***“OIB-type”samples,including T1193-A and T0907 dykes,show OIB-like geochemical features and have initial Sr-Nd isotopic values similar with most mafic products in Comei Large Igneous Provinces(LIP),suggesting that they represent melts directly generated from the Kerguelen mantle ***“weak enriched-type”samples,including T1194-A and T0902 dykes,have Rees and trace element patterns showing withinplate affinity but have obvious Nb-ta-Ti negative *** show uniform lowerεNd(t)values(−6‒−2)and higher 87Sr/86Sr(t)values(0.706‒0.709)independent of their MgO variation,indicating one enriched mantle *** their closely spatial and temporal relationship with the widespread Comei LIP magmatic products in Tethyan Himalaya,these“weak enriched-type”samples are consistent with mixing of melts from mantle plume and the above ancient Tethyan Himalaya subcontinental lithospheric mantle(SCLM)in different *** weak enriched mafic rocks in Comei LIP form one special rock group and most likely suggest large scale hot mantle plume-continental lithosphere *** process may lead to strong modification of the Tethyan Himalaya lithosphere in the early Cretaceous.

目的通过生化鉴定与分子生物型分型鉴定临床分离得到的布鲁氏菌,并测定羊种布鲁氏菌分离株对常见抗生素的体外敏感性。方法对29株2022—2023年内蒙古自治区(内蒙古)收集到的羊种布鲁氏菌进行生化鉴定、牛种羊种猪种犬种(AMOS)多重荧光定量聚合酶链式反应(PCR)、多位点序列分型(MLST),并选择了阿奇霉素、多西环素、利福平、环丙沙星、左氧氟沙星、链霉素、庆大霉素、头孢曲松共8种抗生素使用e-test药敏试纸条测定各菌株对抗生素的最小抑菌浓度(MIC)。结果AMOS多重荧光定量PCR与生化鉴定结果得到羊种1型9株、羊种2型6株、羊种3型14株,ST分型结果为MLST 8型28株、ST 12型1株。全部菌株对多西环素、链霉素、环丙沙星、左氧氟沙星、庆大霉素均敏感;20.68%的菌株对头孢曲松耐药;6.89%的菌株对利福平耐药;100.00%的菌株对阿奇霉素耐药,且MIC范围较其他地区显著增加,这种耐药性可能与地理分布或时间因素有关。结论利福平作为治疗布病的一线药物,耐药菌株的出现提示,应加强对利福平耐药性的监测工作,链霉素、环丙沙星、左氧氟沙星、庆大霉素均可能作为利福平耐药布病患者治疗的候选药物。
