Modulation in the aggregation behavior of bio-surfactants （bile salts）, sodium cholate （NaC） and sodium deoxycholate （NaDC） in aqueous solutions of carbohydrates （galactose and lactose） have been investigated by measuring the density （ρ）, speed of sound （u） and viscosity （η） of the mixtures at different temperatures 293.15, 298.15, 303.15, 308.15 and 313.15 K. The density and speed of sound data have been used to calculate various volumetric and compressibility parameters such as apparent molar volume （Vφ）, isentropic compressibil- ity （κs）, apparent molar adiabatic compression （κs,φ） to get a better insight into the micellization mechanism of bile salts. Further, the viscosity data have been studied in the light of relative viscosity （ηr） and viscous relaxation time （τ）. Some derived parameters such as free volume （νf）, internal pressure （πi） and molar cohesive energy （MCE） of NaC and NaDC in aqueous solution of saccharides have also been calculated from viscosity data in con- junction with density and speed of sound values. All the calculated and derived parameters provide qualitative information regarding the nature of interactions i.e. solute-solute, solute-solvent and solvent-solvent in the solution.

The chronic subdural hematoma is a well known entity in old age and the treatment is very challenging. Treatment protocol depends upon the radiological finding. The loculation and multilayering indicates the bleeding at multiple times and respectively found in 13.2% and 13.6%, which was more common in patients more than 75 years. Burr hole evacuation was the treatment of choice except in recurrent cases where craniotomy was performed.

Epidemiologic pattern of paediatric supracondylar fractures of humerus in a teaching hospital of rural India： A prospective study of 263 cases

Purpose： This prospective study aimed to investigate the epidemiologic parameters of supracondylar humeral fractures in children admitted to a teaching institution of a developing country primarily catering to rural population, to find any preventable cause of such injuries. Methods： All suspected cases of supracondylar humeral fracture reporting to emergency or outpatients department were analysed for various epidemiologic parameters including age, sex, laterality, time of presentation, associated injuries, neurovascular complications and classification over a period of four years. Results： We analysed a total of 263 patients and most of the fractures were seen in 5-8-year age group with a mean of 7.9 years. A total of 157 cases were males and non-dominant extremity was involved in 65% of fractures in our series. Fall on outstretched hand was the predominant cause of injury and fall from rooftop was the predominant mode. In all patients, 36.12% reported to our hospital 1 week after injury, 39.92% presented to hospital within 48 h after trauma and the remaining 23.95% presented 48 h to 1 week after trauma. None had a bilateral injury. Gartland type 3 fractures constituted 54.37% of patients, followed by type 1 （23.95%） and type 2 （21.67%）. Conclusion： Almost one fourth of supracondylar humeral fractures in children can be prevented by installing railing of rooftops and stairs. It is necessary to educate people on hazards of treatment by traditional bonesetters. Moreover, the children with supracondylar humeral fractures should be screened for associated injuries.

The conversion of somatic cells into pluripotent stem cells via overexpression of reprogramming factors involvesepigenetic remodeling. DNA methylation at a significant proportion of CpG sites in induced pluripotent stem cells(iPSCs) differs from that of embryonic stem cells (ESCs). Whether different sets of reprogramming factors influencethe type and extent of aberrant DNA methylation in iPSCs differently remains unknown. In order to help resolvethis critical question, we generated human iPSCs from a common fibroblast cell source using either the Yamanakafactors (OCT4, SOX2, KLF4 and cMYC) or the Thomson factors (OCT4, SOX2, NANOG and LIN28), and determinedtheir genome-wide DNA methylation profiles. In addition to shared DNA methylation aberrations present in all ouriPSCs, we identified Yamanaka-iPSC (Y-iPSC)-specific and Thomson-iPSC (T-iPSC)-specific recurrent ***, not only were the genomic locations of the aberrations different but also their types: reprogrammingwith Yamanaka factors mainly resulted in failure to demethylate CpGs, whereas reprogramming with Thomsonfactors mainly resulted in failure to methylate CpGs. Differences in the level of transcripts encoding DNMT3b andTET3 between Y-iPSCs and T-iPSCs may contribute partially to the distinct types of aberrations. Finally, de novoaberrantly methylated genes in Y-iPSCs were enriched for NANOG targets that are also aberrantly methylated insome cancers. Our study thus reveals that the choice of reprogramming factors influences the amount, location,and class of DNA methylation aberrations in iPSCs. These findings may provide clues into how to produce humaniPSCs with fewer DNA methylation abnormalities.

Bio-Fortification of Oats Fodder through Zinc Enrichment to Reduce Animal Malnutrition

The availability of poor quality fodders for livestock feeding is a major hurdle for the dairy industry in South Asia. Thelow content of Zn in fodders, leads to its malnutrition in animals. In fodders, Zn facilitates protein synthesis, gene expressions,energy production and involves in various metabolic activities of plants, animals and humans. To achieve these objectives,multi-location field trials were conducted on enrichment of oats fodder with Zn through bio-fortification. The experiment consists ofeight different treatment combinations for enrichment of oats fodder with Zn including control, soil and soil plus foliar application ofZn at different stages of plant growth. The results of the study reported that soil application of Zn at the rate of 25 kg/ha and soil +foliar application of Zn at 0.5% at 60 days after sowing (DAS) (jointing stage), 90 DAS (booting stage) and both 60 DAS and 90DAS showed improvement in plant growth parameters. The results further reported that foliar application of Zn at the rate of 0.5% at60 DAS, 90 DAS, both 60 DAS and 90 DAS reported significant increase in biomass yield and fodder quality. Integrated applicationof Zn at 25 kg/ha in soil along with foliar Zn at the rate of 0.5% at 60 DAS and 90 DAS showed maximum Zn enrichment, greenfodder yield, dry fodder yield, plant height, and Zn accumulation in oats fodder as compared to other treatments of Zn *** treatments of Zn application through integrated mode also reported significant improvement in fodder quality with maximumcrude protein (CP) and crude protein yield (CPY) while neutral detergent fiber (NDF), acid detergent fiber (ADF), ash content andorganic matter showed a non-significant effect. Thus, the results of experimental study concluded that soil and foliar application ofZn at 25 kg/ha and 0.5% Zn, respectively, at 60 DAS and 90 DAS enhanced the growth, yield and quality of oats fodder which willcertainly improve livestock production through bio-fortification

Security is the one of the major challenges for routing the data between the source and destination in an Internet of Things(IoT)*** overcome this challenge,a secure Lightweight On-demand Ad hoc Distancevector—Next Generation(LOADng)Routing Protocol is proposed in this *** the LOADng protocol is the second version of Ad Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector(AODV)protocol,it retains most of the basic functionality and characteristics of *** the route discovery process,the cyclic shift transposition algorithm(CSTA)is used to encrypt the control packets of the LOADng protocol to improve its *** approach only derives transposition and substitution without product cipher with respect to input *** this,for choosing the best probable path between the source and destination,routing metrics such as link quality Indicator(LQI),hop count(HC)and queue length(QL)are included in the control *** data is then securely sent using CSTA using the optimal secure path *** Results depict that the proposed secure and optimal LOADng(SO-LOADng)using CSTA encryption obtains better throughput,delivery ratio encryption time and decryption time than the existing state-ofart approaches.

Interconnected devices and intelligent applications have slashed human intervention in the Internet of Things(IoT),making it possible to accomplish tasks with less human ***,it faces many problems,including lower capacity links,energy utilization,enhancement of resources and limited resources due to its openness,heterogeneity,limited resources and *** is challenging to route packets in such a constrained *** an IoT network constrained by limited resources,minimal routing control overhead is required without packet *** constrained environments can be improved through the optimal routing *** is challenging to route packets in such a constrained ***,this work is motivated to present an efficient routing protocol for enhancing the lifetime of the IoT *** On-demand Ad hoc Distance-vector Routing Protocol—Next Generation(LOADng)protocol is an extended version of the Ad Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector(AODV)*** AODV,LOADng is a lighter version that forbids the intermediate nodes on the route to send a route reply(RREP)for the route request(RREQ),which originated from the source.A resource-constrained IoT network demands minimal routing control overhead and faster packet ***,in this paper,the parameters of the LOADng routing protocol are optimized using the black widow optimization(BWO)algorithm to reduce the control overhead and ***,the performance of the proposed model is analyzed with the default LOADng in terms of delay,delivery ratio and *** results show that the LOADng-BWO protocol outperforms the conventional LOADng protocol.
