In the maritime industry, cost-effective and lightweight Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP) composites offer excellent mechanical properties, design flexibility, and corrosion resistance. However, their reliability in harsh seawater conditions is a concern. Researchers address this by exploring three approaches: coating fiber surfaces, hybridizing fibers and matrices with or without nanofillers, and interply rearrangement. This study focuses on evaluating the synergistic effects of interply rearrangement of glass/carbon fibers and hybrid nanofillers, specifically Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) and Halloysite nanotubes (HNT). The aim is to enhance impact properties by minimizing moisture absorption. Hybrid nanocomposites with equal-weight proportions of two nanofillers: 0 wt.%, 1 wt.%, and 2 wt.% were exposed to seawater for 90 days. Experimental data was subjected to modelling through the application of Predictive Fick’s Law. The study found that the hybrid composite containing 2 wt.% hybrid nanofillers exhibited a 22.10% increase in impact performance compared to non-modified counterparts. After 90 days of seawater aging, the material exhibited enhanced resistance to moisture absorption (15.74%) and minimal reduction in impact strength (8.52%) compared to its dry strength, with lower diffusion coefficients.

Sloshing has a widespread application in many industries including automotive, aerospace, ship building and motorcycle manufacturing. The goals of sloshing simulation is to first study the sloshing pattern and then improve the tank design to reduce noise levels, stresses on the structure and optimize the baffle arrangements. In this project simulation of the fluid in tank is studied and the design modification with baffle plate is considered to minimize the sloshing phenomena using Arbitrary Langrangian Eulerian （ALE） method. Also it is explained that there is need to analyze the sloshing phenomena in detail. Arbitrary Langrangian Eulerian finite element methods gain interest for the capability to control mesh geometry independently from material geometry, the ALE methods are used to create a new undistorted mesh for the fluid domain. In this paper we use the ALE technique to solve fuel slosh problem. Fuel slosh is an important design consideration not only for the fuel tank, but also for the structure supporting the fuel tank. Fuel slosh can be generated by many ways： abrupt changes in acceleration （braking）, as well as abrupt changes in direction （highway exit-ramp）. Repetitive motion can also be involved if a sloshing resonance is generated. These sloshing events can in turn affect the overall performance 0fthe parent structure. A finite element analysis method has been developed to analyze this complex event. A new ALE formulation for the fluid mesh can be used to keep the fluid mesh integrity during the motion of the tank. This paper explains the analysis capabilities on a technical level.

Malakoplakia is an uncommon chronic inflammatory disease usually affecting the urogenital tract and often associated with the infection due to?E. coli. It is characterised by the presence of Von Hansemann cells and intracytoplasmic inclusion bodies called Michaelis-Gutmann Bodies. Testes are affected in 12% cases. The lesion mainly occurs in middle aged men, appearing clinically as epididymo-orchitis or testicular enlargement with fibrous consistency and some soft areas. Orchidectomy is the only way to differentiate the lesion from other malignant or infected processes. This is a case report of a young patient with testicular malakoplakia.

The maximum flyer impact velocity based on a dynamic solidification cracking mechanism is proposed to describe the upper limit of collision welding process ***,the upper limit of the weld window is governed by the evolution of dynamic stresses and temperatures at the weld *** formulations for the upper limit of the collision weld window assume that both the flyer and target are made of the same material and approximate stress propagation velocities using the acoustic velocity or the shear wave velocity of the weld ***,collision welding fundamentally depends on the impacts that generate shockwaves in weld members,which can dominate the stress propagation velocities in thin weld ***,this study proposes an alternative weld window upper limit that approximates stress propagation using shock velocities calculated from modified 1-D Rankine-Hugoniot *** shock upper limit is validated against the experimental and simulation data in the collision welding literature,and offers a design tool to rapidly predict more accurate optimal collision weld process limits for similar and dissimilar weld couples compared to existing models without the cost or complexity of high-fidelity simulations.

Developing a well-predictive machine learning model that also offers improved interpretability is a key challenge to widen the application of artificial intelligence in various application domains. In this work, we present a Data Information integrated Neural Network (DINN) algorithm that incorporates the correlation information present in the dataset for the model development. The predictive performance of DINN is also compared with a standard artificial neural network (ANN) model. The DINN algorithm is applied on two case studies of energy systems namely energy efficiency cooling (ENC) & energy efficiency heating (ENH) of the buildings, and power generation from a 365 MW capacity industrial gas turbine. For ENC, DINN presents lower mean RMSE for testing datasets (RMSE_test = 1.23 %) in comparison with the ANN model (RMSE_test = 1.41 %). Similarly, DINN models have presented better predictive performance to model the output variables of the two case studies. The input perturbation analysis following the Gaussian distribution for noise generation reveals the order of significance of the variables, as made by DINN, can be better explained by the domain knowledge of the power generation operation of the gas turbine. This research work demonstrates the potential advantage to integrate the information present in the data for the well-predictive model development complemented with improved interpretation performance thereby opening avenues for industry-wide inclusion and other potential applications of machine learning.

The digital twin(DT)is envisaged as a catalyst for pioneering ecosystems of service provision within an immersive environment born from the convergence of virtual and physical ***,DT could enhance the performance of edge-intelligent connected vehicular networks by allocating network resources efficiently based on the key performance indicators(KPIs)of vehicular data ***,this work addresses the key challenge of computation and spectrum resource allocation for vehicular *** allocate the optimal resource allocation,we subdivided the problem into:traffic classification,collective learning,and resource allocation *** order to do so,this paper concentrates on two crucial vehicular applications:brake application and lane-change *** utilize a random forest model to collectively learn vehicular data traffic in the upcoming time ***,a time-ahead resource allocation algorithm is proposed to improve the quality of service(QoS)by intelligently offloading vehicular data traffic to a DT-based integrated fiber-wireless(Fi-Wi)connected vehicular *** evaluate the performance of the resource allocation strategy in terms of resources required by the network alongside the packet loss *** was observed that there was a 44.74%increase in cost as the total computation resources increased from F=50 to 100 GHz,whereas the PLR of the network decreased by 71.43%.
