Geochemical and mineralogical studies were performed in the La pesca(Lp)and Tesoro Altamira(TA)beach sediments,located in the Tamaulipas state,northern Gulf of *** main aim of this study is to infer the weathering history and provenance and to discriminate the tectonic environment of the beach *** sediments are composed of quartz with small amounts of accessory minerals such as plagioclase,calcite,orthoclase,microcline,and *** beach sediments are classified as fine-grained and very well sorted,however Lp has coarse skewed and leptokurtic sediments,whereas TA has fine-skewed and very leptokurtic *** chemical index of weathering(CIW’)indicates intense weathering in the source *** quartz grain microtextures in the Lp and TA are classified into mechanical,chemical,and mechanical/chemical *** features such as fractures,pits,percussion marks,abrasion fatigue,and V-shaped marks favor high-energy littoral,fluvial,subaqueous-marine,and aeolian *** chemical features indicate solution pits and crystalline overgrowth,which suggests a silica saturated marine *** mechanical/chemical features display adhering particles and elongated depressions suggest formation in a sub-aqueous nearshore marine *** and trace elements-based provenance discrimination diagrams indicate a felsic source derived from the mesa Central(mC),Sierra madre Oriental(SmOr)and Oaxaquia *** major and trace element concentrations imply a passive margin setting for the northern Gulf of mexico,which is consistent with the general geology.

The protein,N-myc downstream-regulated gene 2(NDRG2),a tumor suppressor,is significantly decreased or absent in many types of *** is a significant negative correlation between the levels of NDRG2 and the development and progression of cancer tumor recurrence and tumor invasion,in different *** contrast,the in vitro and in vivo overexpression of the NDRG2 protein decreases the proliferation,growth,adhesion and migration of many types of cancer *** in vitro overexpression of NDRG2 increases the efficacy of certain anticancer drugs in specific types of cancer *** hypothesize that the delivery of the mRNA of the NDRG2 protein,encapsulated by lipid nanoparticles,could represent a potential treatment of metastatic and drug-resistant *** would be accomplished using a self-amplifying mRNA that encodes the NDRG2 protein and an RNA-dependent-RNA polymerase,obtained from an in vitrotranscribed(IVT)*** IVT mRNA would be encapsulated in a lipid *** efficacy of the nanoformulation would be determined in cultured cancer cells and if the results are positive,nude mice transplanted with either drug-resistant or metastatic drug-resistant cancer cells,would be treated with the nanoformulation and monitored for efficacy and adverse *** the appropriate preclinical studies indicate this formulation is efficacious and safe,it is possible it could be evaluated in clinical trials.

Joining of hybrid AA6063-6SiCp-3Grp composite and AISI1030 steel by friction welding

Joining of metals and aluminium hybrid metal matrix composites has significant applications in aviation,ship building and automotive industries. In the present work, investigation is carried out on Friction Welding of AISI 1030 steel and hybrid AA6063-6 SiC_p-3 Gr_pcomposite, that are difficult to weld by fusion welding technique. Silicon carbide and graphite particle reinforced AA6063 matrix hybrid composite was developed successfully using stir casting method and the joining feasibility of AISI1030 steel with AA6063-6 SiC_p-3 Gr_p hybrid composite was tried out by friction stud welding technique. During friction stage of welding process, the particulates(SiC & Graphite) used for reinforcement, tend to increase the viscosity and lead to improper mixing of matrix and reinforcement. This eventually results in lower strength in dissimilar joints. To overcome this difficulty AA1100 interlayer is used while joining hybrid composite to AISI 1030 steel. Experimentation was carried out using Taguchi based design of experiments(DOE) technique. multiple regression methods were applied to understand the relationship between process parameters of the friction stud welding process. micro structural examination reveals three separate zones namely fully plasticized zone, partially deformed zone and unaffected base material zone. Ultra fine dynamically recrystallized grains of about 341 nm were observed at the fully plasticized zone. EDX analysis confirms the presence of intermetallic compound Fe_2 Al_5 at the joint interface. According to the experimental analysis using DOE, rotational speed and interlayer sheet thickness contribute about 39% and 36% respectively in determining the impact strength of the welded joints. It is found that joining with 0.5 mm interlayer sheet provides efficient joints. Developed regression model could be used to predict the axial shortening distance and impact strength of the welded joint with reasonable accuracy.

Assessment of the ballistic response of honeycomb sandwich structures subjected to offset and normal impact

In the present study,experimental and numerical investigations were carried out to examine the behavior of sandwich panels with honeycomb *** high velocity impact tests were carried out using a compressed air gun.A sharp conical nosed projectile was impacted normally and with some offset distance(20 mm and 40 mm).The deformation,failure mode and energy dissipation characteristics were obtained for both kinds of ***,the explicit solver was run in Abaqus to create the finite element *** numerically obtained test results were compared with the experimental to check the accuracy of the *** numerical result was further employed to obtain strain energy dissipation in each element by externally running user-defined code in ***,the influence of inscribe circle diameter and cell wall and face sheet thickness on the energy dissipation,deformation and failure mode was *** result found that ballistic resistance and deformation were higher against offset impact compared to the normal impact *** panel impacted at 40 mm offset distance required 3 m/s and 1.9 m/s more velocity than 0 and 20 mm offset ***,increasing the face sheet and wall thickness had a positive impact on the ballistic resistance in terms of a higher ballistic limit and energy ***,inscribe circle diameter had a negative influence on the ballistic ***,the geometrical parameters of the sandwich structure had a significant influence on the energy dissipation in the different deformation *** energy dissipation in plastic work was highest for circumferential direction,regardless of impact condition followed by tangential,radial and axial directions.

parkinson's disease(pD) is one of the most debilitating brain diseases. Despite the availability of symptomatic treatments, response towards the health of pD patients remains scarce. In this review, we have compiled the information covering limitations of current therapeutic options in pD, novel drug targets for pD, and finally, the role of some critical beneficial natural products to control the progression of pD.

Characterization of 3D microstructure,thermal conductivity,and heat flow of cement-based foam using imaging technique

This study presents the results of the 3D microstructure,thermal conductivity,and heat flow in cement-based foams and examines their changes with a range of *** were captured using X-ray micro computed tomography(micro-CT)imaging technique on cement-based foam samples prepared with densities of 400,600,and 800 kg/m^(3).These images were later simulated and quantified using 3D data visualization and analysis *** on the analysis,the pore volume of 11000µm^(3)was determined across the three densities,leading to optimal ***,distinct pore diameters of 15µm for 800 kg/m^(3),and 20µm for 600 and 400 kg/m^(3)were found to be *** of the pores were spherical,with only 10%appearing elongated or *** addition,a difference of 15%was observed between the 2D and 3D porosity ***,a difference of 5%was noticed between the experimentally measured thermal conductivity and the numerically predicted value and this variation was constant across the three cast *** 3D model showed that heat flows through the cement paste solids and with an increase in porosity this flow reduces.

Liana community and functional trait analysis in tropical dry evergreen forest of India

Aim lianas are abundant and diverse throughout the world and consti-tute an important structural and functional component of tropical *** study aims to investigate liana diversity,abundance and their functional traits in Indian tropical dry evergreen forest(TDEF).methods a total of ten 1-ha plots,one each in 10 Indian TDEF sites were *** 1-ha plot was divided into one-hundred 10-×10-m quadrats to facilitate woody species *** lianas≥1 cm diameter measured at 130 cm from the rooting point and all trees≥10-cm girth at breast height(gbh)were recorded from the study sites to analyze the patterns of liana diversity and abundance and also to compare the contribution of lianas to the total woody species richness,density and basal *** variables across the study sites were compared using one-way analysis of *** qualitative functional traits of inventoried lianas and trees were assessed on the field and referring to pertinent field *** Findingsa total of 9237 liana individuals(ranged from 408-1658 individu-als ha^(−1))representing 52 species,45 genera and 28 families were encountered from the 10 study *** species richness ranged from 11-31 species ha^(−1) in 10 sites,which averaged 23.4(±5.7)species ha^(−1).The total basal area of lianas in the study sites was 7.3 m^(2)(0.20-1.76 m^(2) ha^(−1)).There was a significant variation in liana species richness,density and basal area across the studied *** the whole,lianas contributed 52%,49.3%and 4.1%to the total woody species(lianas and trees)richness,density and basal area,*** trait analysis revealed the majority(50%)of lianas belonged to brevi-deciduous *** twining was the chief climbing mechanism,exhibited by 21 species(52.6%of total abundance).more than half of the liana species(34 species;6925 individuals)had microphyllous ***-fruited lianas mostly bearing berries and drupes constituted the major fruit type in the studied si
