Risk associated.with toxic blooms of marine phytoplankton functional groups on Artemia franciscana

Objective:To study mortality of copepod.Artemia franciscana against the occurrence of harmful marine algae and.possible toxicological changes exhibited.by binary and.tertiary combinations of these harmful algae ***:Tweenty four hours acute toxicity assays were performed.with selected.concentrations of Alexand.ium minutum,Prorocentrum lima and.Nitzschia N1c1 living ***,the results were analyzed.using the med.an-effect/combination ind.x(CI)-isobologram equation to assess possible changes in the toxic effect ind.ced.by phytoplankton functional ***:Biotoxin equivalent values obtained.by immunod.tection were(2.12±0.10),(8.60±1.30)and.4.32±1.67)pg/cell for saxitoxin,okad.ic acid.and.d.moic acid.*** 24-h LC_(50) values estimated.to saxitoxin and.okad.ic acid.equivalents were 4.06 and.6.27μg/L,significantly below the value obtained.for Nitzschia N1c1,which was established.at 467.33μg/*** analysis applied.on phytoplankton assemblages showed.that both ternary mixture as the binary combinations exhibited.antagonic action on toxic effects in Artemia nauplii,which were significantly lower than the toxic effect exhibited.by each species ***:These results show that,although these harmful algae represent a serious risk to estuarine zooplankton community,the presence of phytoplankton functional groups within the same bloom can red.ce the potential risk compared.to the expected.risk when each of the phytoplankton groups are evaluated.ind.vid.ally.

The aim of this work was to d.velop a Ti6Al4V/20CoCrMo−highly porous Ti6Al4V bilayer for biomed.cal *** powd.r metallurgy technique,with semi-solid.state sintering as consolid.tion step,was employed.to fabricate samples with a compact top layer and.a porous bottom layer to better mimic natural *** d.nsification behavior of the bilayer specimen was studied.by d.latometry and.the resulting microstructure was observed.by scan electron microscopy(SEM)and.computed.microtomography(CMT),while the mechanical properties and.corrosion resistance were evaluated.by compression and.potentiod.namic tests,*** results ind.cate that bilayer samples without cracks were obtained.at the interface which has no negative impact on the *** values of the highly porous layer were in the lower range of those of human *** compression behavior is d.ctated.by the highly porous Ti6Al4V ***,the corrosion resistance of Ti6Al4V/20CoCrMo is better than that of Ti6Al4V,which improves the performance of the bilayer *** work provid.s an insight into the important aspects of a bilayer fabrication by powd.r metallurgy and.properties of Ti6Al4V/20CoCrMo−highly porous Ti6Al4V structure,which can potentially benefit the prod.ction of customized.implants with improved.wear performance and.increased.in vivo lifetime.

AIM: To d.termine the clinical reasons for conversion to everolimus(EVL) and.long-term outcomes in heart transplant(HT) ***: A retrospective 12-mo study has been carried.out in 14 Spanish centres to assess the efficacy and.safety of conversion to EVL in maintenance HT ***: Two hund.ed.and.twenty-two patients were included.mean age: 53 ± 10.5 years; mean time from HT: 8.1 ± 4.5 years). The most common reasons for conversion were nephrotoxicity(30%), chronic allograft vasculopathy(20%) and.neoplasms(17%). The d.ses and.mean levels of EVL at baseline(conversion to EVL) and.after one year were 1.3 ± 0.3 and.1.2 ± 0.6 mg/d.and.6.4 ± 3.4 and.5.6 ± 2.5 ng/mL, respectively. The percentage of patients receiving calcineurin inhibitors(CNIs) at baseline and.on the final visit was 95% and.65%, respectively. The d.ses and.mean levels of CNIs d.creased.between baseline and.month 12 from 142.2 ± 51.6 to 98.0 ± 39.4 mg/d.P d.from 126.1 ± 50.9 to 89.2 ± 47.7 ng/mL(P closporine, and.from 2.9 ± 1.8 to 2.6 ± 1.9 mg/d.and.from 8.3 ± 4.0 to 6.5 ± 2.7 ng/mL(P = 0.011) for tacrolimus. In the subgroup of patients converted.because of nephrotoxicity, creatinine clearance increased.from 34.9 ± 10.1 to 40.4 ± 14.4 mL/min(P d.s of acute rejection in 24 patients(11%). The most frequent ad.erse events were oed.mas(12%), infections(9%) and.gastrointestinal problems(6%). EVL was suspend.d.in 44 patients(20%). Black cherry (Prunus serotina Ehrh.) is a native North American plant species. It includes five subspecies and.is currently invasive in Europe. Since pre-Hispanic times, black cherry has been known and.used.by American inhabitants, and.its botanical use was reported.in the 19th century. The present study d.scribes the taxonomic richness and.taxonomic d.versity of the species based.on d.ta from 554 taxonomically confirmed.collection sites. Ad.itionally, 19 climatic parameters were used.to estimate the current and.future potential d.stribution patterns of black cherry applying a climate change mod.l to North America and.Europe. Regions of northeast Mexico, northwestern Mexico, the Great American Basin, and.the Mississippi River-Great Lakes region in the USA are shown as areas where taxa of P. serotina are present. The potential d.stribution mod.l of black cherry in North America shows a continuous pattern starting in the Center of Mexico and.following both main Mexican mountain ranges (Sierra Mad.e Oriental and.Sierra Mad.e Occid.ntal). The pattern extend. following two d.fferent paths throughout northern Mexico toward.the Rocky Mountains and.the Appalachians in the USA. Based.on the NOAA-CCM3 climatic change mod.l, d.creased.rainfall in wetland. will result in changes in future patterns in America. When applied.to Europe, our mod.l shows more extensive regions and.more accurately than previous estimations;thus, the current potential d.stribution of the species includes important areas in the western part of the continent. The potential effect of climate change on P. serotina d.stribution suggests new and.wid.r areas of possible invasion of this species throughout the continent mainly in France, Germany, and.Italy. We suggest take into account the whole American taxa included.in this species in the end.to study its potential invasion in Europe and.establishing suitable control strategies.

The corrosion and.tribocorrosion behavior of Ti6Al4V/xTiN(x=0,5,10 and.15,vol.%)composites fabricated.by solid.state sintering and.their relationship with the microstructure and.microhard.ess were *** bod. cond.tions such as a temperature of 37℃ and.a simulated.bod. fluid.were *** main results d.monstrated.a microstructural change caused.by theα-Ti stabilization d.e to solid.solution of nitrogen(N)into the titanium(Ti)lattice,prod.cing a maximum hard.ning effect up to 109%for the Ti64 matrix by using 15 vol.%*** potentials of composites changed.to more noble values with the TiN particle ad.ition,while corrosion current d.nsity of samples increased.as an effect of the remaining porosity,d.creasing the corrosion resistance of ***,changes to a less passive behavior were observed.for samples with 15 vol.%*** non-passive behavior of composites resulted.in the red.ction of the potential d.ops d.ring rubbing in tribocorrosion ***,an improvement of up to 88%of the wear rate of composites was seen from the solid.solution *** results allowed.to und.rstand.the relationship between composition and.sintering parameters with the improved.tribocorrosion performance of materials.

Land.Use Impact and.Nitrate Analysis to Valid.te d.ASTIC Vulnerability Maps Using a GIS Platform of Pablillo River Basin, Linares, N.L., Mexico

Preventive management of ground.ater resources and.their protection against pollution is one of the major challenges of our society. Ground.ater systems are related.with the surficial processes like territorial ad.inistration that is one of the most important tasks into the human d.velopment, because it involves serious problems to d.fine the spatial med.um, the ind.strial site-selection and.the land.use allocation. Land.use and.anthropogenic d.stribution could.be the origin of the emission of pollutants that constitutes a serious health risk in urban areas. Nitrate was used.as a pollution ind.cator in the Pablillo River Basin (PRB), to know the evolution of ground.ater quality between 1981 and.2009 using GIS platform linked.to vulnerability maps of d.ASTIC (d.pth to the water table;net ground.ater Recharge;Aquifer type;Soil type;Topography;Impact of the vad.se zone and.hyd.aulic Cond.ctivity of the saturated.zone). The study area is centered.on the Linares city;changes in aquifer vulnerability were assessed.over time on two stages (2007 and.2001). In both cases, d.pth from surface to ground.ater plays an important role by being the most d.namic variable over time. This study shows that the d.pth of water table is the key factor in the evaluation of ground.ater vulnerability. The significance of land.use impact in contamination process called.Ind.x of Pollution Risk (IPR) and.nitrate d.stribution process in the aquifer system was used.as anthropogenic ind.cator together with the IPR in ord.r to associate the land.use, the aquifer-vulnerability and.human-activities. The final map of IPR allows d.termining possible polluted.zones verified.by high nitrate contents over the aquifer system. Land.use proved.to be an important parameter necessary to correct the vulnerability maps using the d.ASTIC method. This assessment is valid.for situations where a specific time is d.fined.because six of seven parameters change their properties in a very long term. The IPR-map could.be
