This paper studies the amplitude of random telegraph noise （RTN） caused by a single trap in the sili- con film of ultra-thin buried oxide （UTBOX） silicon-on-insulator （SOl） devices. The film-defect-related RTN was identified and analyzed by low frequency noise measurement and time domain measurement. emphasis is on the relative amplitude AID/ID, which is studied in the function of the front-gate, the back-gate and the drain-to-source biases. Interesting asymmetric or symmetric VDS dependence of switched source and drain are observed and sup- ported by calibrated Sentaurus simulations. It is believed the asymmetry of the VDs dependence of the switched source and drain is related to the lateral trap position along the source and drain.

One of the main goals of vaccine research is the development of adjuvants that can enhance immune responses and are both safe and biocompatible.We explored the application of the natural polymer hyaluronan(HA)as a promising immunological adjuvant for protein-based vaccines.Chemical conjugation of HA to antigens strongly increased their immunogenicity,reduced booster requirements,and allowed antigen dose sparing.HA-based bioconjugates stimulated robust and long-lasting humoral responses without the addition of other immunostimulatory compounds and proved highly efficient when compared to other adjuvants.Due to its intrinsic biocompatibility,HA allowed the exploitation of different injection routes and did not induce inflammation at the inoculation site.This polymer promoted rapid translocation of the antigen to draining lymph nodes,thus facilitating encounters with antigen-presenting cells.Overall,HA can be regarded as an effective and biocompatible adjuvant to be exploited for the design of a wide variety of vaccines.

The surface texture of the pavement plays a very important role in driving the frictional properties at the tire rubber-pavement interface. Particularly, the hysteretic friction due to viscoelastic deformations of rubber depends mainly on the pavement surface texture. In the present paper, the effect of micromechanical pavement surface morphology on rubber block friction was brought in by comparing the friction results for three different asphalt mix morphological surfaces, named stone mastic asphalt （SMA）, ultra-thin surfacing （UTS） and porous asphalt （PA）. The asphalt surface morphologies of these mixes were captured by using an X-ray tornographer, from which the resulting images micromechanical finite element （Fe） meshes for SMA, UTS and PA pavements were developed by means of the SimpleWare software. In the Fe model, the rubber and asphalt binder were modeled as viscoelastic （V-e） materials and the formulation was given in the large deformation frame- work. Fe simulations were then carried out by using contact algorithm between rubber and the road surface. It was observed that the rubber friction inversely varies with the sliding speed and positively varies with the pressure for all the pavement morphological and stiffness conditions. Furthermore, it was observed that the highly porous pavement surface results in large dissipation of energy, hence, large rubber friction which shows that the mix characteristics of pavements have a simaificant effect on rubber friction.

目的比较特应性皮炎患者与健康对照皮肤样本的单细胞转录组测序数据,探讨特应性皮炎皮损中炎症性树突状表皮细胞(IDeC)的免疫代谢特征。方法对既往发表的8例特应性皮炎患者和7例健康对照的单细胞测序数据进行深入挖掘,利用标记基因筛选出IDeC,获取两组IDeC的差异表达基因,并对差异表达基因进行京都基因组百科全书富集分析,使用Seurat中的“AddModuleScore”功能对两组IDeC的炎症通路和代谢通路进行评分,Mann-Whitney秩和检验进行统计分析;通过上述评分以及R语言中的“cor”和“cor.test”函数来评估IDeC的代谢通路与炎症通路之间的相关性。结果特应性皮炎患者皮损中大量浸润的IDeC高表达Th2趋化因子(CCL17)、抗原提呈相关基因(CD1B)、内皮生长相关基因(TYMP、AReG)、炎症相关基因(S100A8、S100A10、LGALS1)、基质纤维化相关基因(MMP12、ADAM19)、代谢相关基因(乳酸脱氢酶、脂肪酶A、谷氨酰胺合成酶)、危险信号传导相关基因(HSPA1B、HSP90AA1、HSPB1、HSPH1)。特应性皮炎患者IDeC的葡萄糖能量代谢、糖酵解代谢、核苷酸代谢、谷氨酸和谷氨酰胺代谢、氨基酸代谢活性显著上调,并且与Th2炎症水平呈正相关;氧化磷酸化和脂代谢活性显著下调,其中脂代谢活性与Th2炎症水平呈负相关。谷氨酰胺代谢和葡萄糖能量代谢活性与Th22炎症水平呈正相关;Th1炎症水平和Th17炎症水平与磷酸戊糖代谢、核苷酸代谢、糖酵解代谢和氨基酸代谢等活性呈负相关。结论特应性皮炎患者皮损中IDeC的炎症和代谢相关基因调节异常,多条代谢通路显著上调,其中糖酵解代谢活性与Th2炎症水平相关性最强。

Pterosaur bones are for the first time reported from the Tremp Syncline （Spain） and the southern Pyrenees. They come from the Torrebilles-2 site （Isona, Lleida Province） in the upper Maastrichtian part of the Tremp Formation, which falls within the C29r magnetochron. fragmentary long bones are referred to the Pterosauria based on their cortical thinness, micro-architecture, and histological features. They belong to very large to possibly giant individuals. The most complete specimen is possibly a partial right femur. The review of the Maastrichtian pterosaur record shows that only a few specimens can be referred to the C29r （which contains the K/Pg boundary）. The identification of fragmentary remains could improve our knowledge about the abundance and distribution of these flying sauropsids just before the end-Cretaceous mass extinction.

The new plant breeding technologies(NPBTs)have recently emerged as powerful tools in the context of‘green’biotechnologies.They have wide potential compared to classical genetic engineering and they are attracting the interest of politicians,stakeholders and citizens due to the revolutionary impact they may have on agriculture.Cisgenesis and genome editing potentially allow to obtain pathogen-resistant plants or plants with enhanced qualitative traits by introducing or disrupting specific genes in shorter times compared to traditional breeding programs and by means of minimal modifications in the plant genome.Grapevine,the most important fruit crop in the world from an economical point of view,is a peculiar case for NPBTs because of the load of cultural aspects,varietal traditions and consumer demands,which hinder the use of classical breeding techniques and,furthermore,the application of genetic engineering to wine grape cultivars.Here we explore the technical challenges which may hamper the application of cisgenesis and genome editing to this perennial plant,in particular focusing on the bottlenecks of the Agrobacterium-mediated gene transfer.In addition,strategies to eliminate undesired sequences from the genome and to choose proper target sites are discussed in light of peculiar features of this species.Furthermore is reported an update of the international legislative frameworks regulating NPBT products which shows conflicting positions and,in the case of the european Union,a prolonged lack of regulation.

Overall 5-years survival of pancreatic cancer patients is nearly 5%,making this cancer type one of the most lethal neoplasia.Furthermore,the incidence rate of pancreatic cancer has a growing trend that determines a constant increase in the number of deceases caused by this pathology.The poor prognosis of pancreatic cancer is mainly caused by delayed diagnosis,early metastasis of tumor,and resistance to almost all tested cytotoxic drugs.In this respect,the identification of novel potential targets for new and efficient therapies should be strongly encouraged in order to improve the clinical management of pancreatic cancer.Some studies have shown that the mitochondrial uncoupling protein 2(UCP2) is over-expressed in pancreatic cancer as compared to adjacent normal tissues.In addition,recent discoveries established a key role of UCP2 in protecting cancer cells from an excessive production of mitochondrial superoxide ions and in the promotion of cancer cell metabolic reprogramming,including aerobic glycolysis stimulation,promotion of cancer progression.These observations together with the demonstration that UCP2 repression can synergize with standard chemotherapy to inhibit pancreatic cancer cell growth provide the molecular rationale to consider UCP2 as a potential therapeutic target for pancreatic cancer.In this editorial,recent advances describing the relationship between cancer development and mitochondrial UCP2 activity are critically provided.

Fire blight disease,caused by the bacterium erwinia amylovora(e.amylovora),is responsible for substantial losses in cultivated apples worldwide.An important mechanism of plant immunity is based on the recognition of conserved microbial molecules,named pathogen-associated or microbe-associated molecular patterns(PAMPs or MAMPs),through pattern recognition receptors(PRRs),leading to pattern-triggered immunity(PTI).The interspecies transfer of PRRs represents a promising strategy to engineer broad-spectrum and durable disease resistance in crops.efr,the Arabidopsis thaliana PRR for the PAMP elf18 derived from the elongation factor thermal unstable(eF-Tu)proved to be effective in improving bacterial resistance when expressed into Solanaceae and other plant species.In this study,we tested whether efr can affect the interaction of apple with e.amylovora by its ectopic expression in the susceptible apple rootstock M.26.Stable efr expression led to the activation of PAMP-triggered immune response in apple leaves upon treatment with supernatant of e.amylovora,as measured by the production of reactive oxygen species and the induction of known defense genes.The amount of tissue necrosis associated with e.amylovora infection was significantly reduced in the efr transgenic rootstock compared to the wild-type.Our results show that the expression of efr in apple rootstock may be a valuable biotechnology strategy to improve the resistance of apple to fire blight.
