The sowing pattern has an important impact on light interception efficiency in maize by determining the spatial distribution of leaves within the *** orientation is an important architectural trait determining maize canopies light *** studies have indicated how maize genotypes may adapt leaves orientation to avoid mutual shading with neighboring plants as a plastic response to intraspecific *** goal of the present study is 2-fold:firstly,to propose and validate an automatic algorithm(Automatic Leaf Azimuth Estimation from Midrib detection[ALAEM])based on leaves midrib detection in vertical red green blue(RGB)images to describe leaves orientation at the canopy level;and secondly,to describe genotypic and environmental differences in leaves orientation in a panel of 5 maize hybrids sowing at 2 densities(6 and 12 plants.m^(−2))and 2 row spacing(0.4 and 0.8 m)over 2 different sites in southern *** ALAEM algorithm was validated against in situ annotations of leaves orientation,showing a satisfactory agreement(root mean square[RMSE]error=0.1,R^(2)=0.35)in the proportion of leaves oriented perpendicular to rows direction across sowing patterns,genotypes,and *** results from ALAEM permitted to identify significant differences in leaves orientation associated to leaves intraspecific *** both experiments,a progressive increase in the proportion of leaves oriented perpendicular to the row is observed when the rectangularity of the sowing pattern increases from 1(6 plants.m^(−2),0.4 m row spacing)towards 8(12 plants.m^(−2),0.8 m row spacing).Significant differences among the 5 cultivars were found,with 2 hybrids exhibiting,systematically,a more plastic behavior with a significantly higher proportion of leaves oriented perpendicularly to avoid overlapping with neighbor plants at high *** in leaves orientation were also found between experiments in a squared sowing pattern(6 plants.m^(−2),0.4 m

Biomarkers have been used to diagnose, prognose, evaluate, and identify the severity and outcomes in traumatic brain injury (TBI) patients. This study explored if it is possible to predict the outcome of TBI patients by estimating the biomarkers in cerebrospinal fluid and serum. We searched data bases and literature about biomarkers, and found forty epidemiologic studies from 92 potentially relevant articles. However, limited data are available about postanoxic encephalopathy. It showed that presently, neurofilament, S100B, glial fibrillary acidic protein, and ubiquitin carboxyl terminal hydrolase-L1 seemed to have the best potential as diagnostic biomarkers for distinguishing focal and diffuse injury, whereas C-Tau, neuron-specific enolase, S100B, glial fibrillary acidic protein, and spectrin breakdown products appear to be candidates for reflective biomarkers of TBI. point-of-care biomarkers are needed in TBI which is one of the most important additional risk factors in road traffic injuries. In a holistic approach, more researches about biomarkers of TBI are required. These biomarkers are very useful for treatment of patients with TBI.

This study aimed to evaluate the effects of a neuropsychopedagogical parenting program (Npp) on the cognitive and motor development of children with ADHD. 70 children with ADHD participated in the present study, of both sexes, aged between 06 and 08 years old (7.08 years old), who were divided into two groups: (A—35 children with ADHD who did not undergo the Npp;B—35 children with ADHD who underwent the Npp). The Npp had a duration of 25 sessions of 15 minutes each, at a frequency of 3 times a week. To evaluate the effects of the Npp, the children were submitted to the following protocols: 1) Swanson, Nolan and pelham Questionaire (SNAp-IV);2) Assessment of Motor Competence through the Supine-to Stand (STS);3) Assessment of executive functioning through the HEAD-FOOT-KNEE- SHOULDER (HFKS) protocol;4) Assessment of Reading Comprehension. Both groups were evaluated before the Npp, after the Npp and four months after the end of the Npp. Our results show that GB children in the signs/ symptoms evaluated by SNAp-IV had a superior performance by ±11% (p ga children. Regarding motor competence, the children from GB had a superior performance by ±24% (p ga. When assessed for executive functioning when establishing an intergroup comparison, GB children performed ±23% better (p ga children. Regarding reading ability, children from (GB) had a superior performance by ±9% (p pared to children from (ga), after undergoing the Npp.

Objective:We used population-based data to examine the possible benefit of extended lymphadenectomy for patients with renal malignancy in the setting of more advanced ***:The Surveillance,Epidemiology,and End Results(SEER)database was utilized to identify non-metastatic,T3-T4 renal cancer patients from 2004-2015 treated with removal of≥1 lymph node at the time of ***-parametric bivariate statistics were used to assess associations between covariates of interest and extended lymphadenectomy(≥10 lymph nodes removed).Cancer-specific survival(CSS)and overall survival(OS)benefit was evaluated using Kaplane-Meier ***:Of the 4397 patients identified,816(18.6%)underwent extended *** patients with T3a disease,5-year CSS and OS benefit with extended lymphadenectomy did not reach statistical significance(CSS:hazard ratio[HR]0.98,95%confidence interval[CI]0.77-1.24;OS:HR 0.96,95%CI 0.77-1.20).Conversely,for those with T3b-T3c disease,extended lymphadenectomy led to statistically significant improvements in both 5-year CSS and OS compared to non-extended lymphadenectomy(CSS:HR 0.78,95%CI 0.61-0.99;OS:HR 0.72,95%CI 0.58-0.90).Finally,for those with T4 disease,use of extended lymphadenectomy had OS benefit after 5 years(OS:HR 0.51,HR 0.29-0.90,p = 0.02).Conclusion:Based on population-level data,extended lymphadenectomy was associated with improved survival in select patients with advanced renal malignancy treated with surgical *** the basis of these real-world findings in the face of conflicting randomized trial results will be key,moving forward.
