Tissue and systemic inflammation have been the main culprit behind the cellular response to multiple insults and maintaining *** is an independent disease state that has been reported as a common risk factor for multiple metabolic and microvascular diseases including nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(nAFLD),retinopathy,critical limb ischemia,and impaired *** inflammation driven by high-fat diet,increased formation of reactive oxygen species,alteration of intracellular calcium level and associated release of inflammatory mediators,are the main common underlying forces in the pathophysiology of nAFLD,ischemic retinopathy,stroke,and aging *** work aims to examine the contribution of the pro-oxidative and pro-inflammatory thioredoxin interacting protein(TXnIP)to the expression and activation of nLRP3-inflammasome resulting in initiation or exacerbation of sterile inflammation in these disease ***,the potential for TXnIP as a therapeutic target and whether TXnIP expression can be modulated using natural antioxidants or repurposing other drugs will be discussed.

Aim: To observe the acute effect of the organophosphorous insecticide malathion on testicular function in mice. Methods: The effects of a single dose of malathion [240 mg/kg (1/12 LD50)] on plasma acetylcholinesterase (ACE) activity, spermatozoa (epididymal cauda counts and teratozoospermia), testis and plasma testosterone concentration) were evaluated at day 1,8, 16, 35 and 40 after treatment. Results: The sperm count was decreased significantly 24 h after treatment and teratozoospermia was increased at day 35 and 40. The height of the seminiferous epithelium and the diameter of tubular lumen were decreased at day 8. The percentage of tubular blockade was increased between day 8 and 35. A decrease in testosterone plasma level was observed at day 16 after treatment. Conclusion: Malathion damages male reproduction. The depletion of seminiferous tubules and the increase in teratozoospermia may be a genotoxic damage to the renewing spermatogonia, but the possibility of spermatogenic/ spermiogenic disfunction due to a decrease in the plasma testosterone level can not be ruled out.

The dipole–dipole interaction model is employed to investigate the angular dependence of the levitation and lateral forces acting on a small magnet in an anti-symmetric magnet/superconducting sphere system. Breaking the symmetry of the system enables us to study the lateral force which is important in the stability of the magnet above a superconducting sphere in the Meissner state. Under the assumption that the lateral displacement of the magnet is small compared to the physical dimensions of our proposed system, analytical expressions are obtained for the levitation and lateral forces as a function of the geometrical parameters of the superconductor as well as the height, the lateral displacement, and the orientation of the magnetic moment of the magnet. The dependence of the levitation force on the height of the levitating magnet is similar to that in the symmetric magnet/superconducting sphere system within the range of proposed lateral displacements. It is found that the levitation force is linearly dependent on the lateral displacement whereas the lateral force is independent of this displacement. A sinusoidal variation of both forces as a function of the polar and azimuthal angles specifying the orientation of the magnetic moment is observed. The relationship between the stability and the orientation of the magnetic moment is discussed for different orientations.

Facial imaging is a term used to describe methods that use facial images to assist or facili-tate human identification. This pertains to two craniofacial identification procedures that use skulls and faces—facial approximation and photographic superimposition—as well as face-only methods for age progression/regression, the construction of facial graphics from eye-witness memory (including composites and artistic sketches), facial depiction, face mapping and newly emerging methods of molecular photofitting. Given the breadth of these facial imaging techniques, it is not surprising that a broad array of subject-matter experts partici-pate in and/or contribute to the formulation and implementation of these methods (includ-ing forensic odontologists, forensic artists, police officers, electrical engineers, anatomists, geneticists, medical image specialists, psychologists, computer graphic programmers and software developers). As they are concerned with the physical characteristics of humans, each of these facial imaging areas also falls in the domain of physical anthropology, although not all of them have been traditionally regarded as such. This too offers useful opportunities to adapt established methods in one domain to others more traditionally held to be disciplines within physical anthropology (e.g. facial approximation, craniofacial super-imposition and face photo-comparison). It is important to note that most facial imaging methods are not currently used for identification but serve to assist authorities in narrowing or directing investigations such that other, more potent, methods of identification can be used (e.g. DnA). Few, if any, facial imaging approaches can be considered honed end-stage scientific methods, with major opportunities for physical anthropologists to make meaningful contributions. Allergy due to toxic pollutants present in the environment has become a major public health threat affecting the lives of more than one billion people *** prevalence and impact are on the rise due to urbanization and growing chemical industries,on the other hand emerging toxic allergens heavily impact the budgets of public health *** the current work,the dynamical model of allergy due to pollution is constructed and ***,the basic reproduction number is formulated to calculate the threshold value of allergic *** model is stabilized locally and globally,besides the conditions that emerged from stability theory are used to study the effects of various parameters.Z-type control mechanism has been used to optimize the stability of the *** simulations validate,that chaotic oscillated compartments are stabilized under the effect of Z-control which shows that allergic diseases due to the polluted environment can be controlled.

Hirschsprung’s disease(HD)is a congenital disorder,characterized by aganglionosis in the distal part of the gastrointestinal *** complete surgical resection of the aganglionic segment,both constipation and fecal incontinence persist in a considerable number of patients with limited treatment *** is growing evidence for structural abnormalities in the ganglionic bowel proximal to the aganglionosis in both humans and animals with HD,which may play a role in persistent bowel *** abnormalities include:(1)Histopathological abnormalities of enteric neural cells;(2)Imbalanced expression of neurotransmitters and neuroproteins;(3)Abnormal expression of enteric pacemaker cells;(4)Abnormalities of smooth muscle cells;and(5)Abnormalities within the extracellular ***,a better understanding of these previously unrecognized neuropathological abnormalities may improve follow-up and treatment in patients with HD suffering from persistent bowel dysfunction following surgical *** the long term,further combination of clinical and neuropathological data will hopefully enable a translational step towards more individual treatment for HD.
