Menopause is characterized by various physical,mental and emotional *** 731®is a standardized extract from Rheum rhaponticum root and has been clinically studied for its role in reducing menopausal *** current systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the efficacy of ERr 731®supplementation in alleviating the severity of menopausal *** this review,we searched across three online databases up to March 2023,evaluated the quality of the included studies by the physiotherapy Evidence Database scale,and assessed the risk of bias by the Cochrane Risk of Bias *** then performed a metaanalysis using RevMan software to estimate the pooled mean difference(MD).The study protocol was registered in the prospective Register of Systematic Reviews(CRD42023416808).After screening and evaluation,we included four high-quality studies(a total of 390 participants;the ERr 731®group:193 participants;the control group:197 participants)in the *** results showed that ERr 731®supplementation significantly reduced the Menopause Rating Scale score(MD:–15.12;ppared with control *** analysis revealed no effect of individual studies on the overall pooled estimate or overall observed *** current review provides evidence that ERr 731®supplementation is effective in reducing menopause *** bias and high heterogeneity in the results warrant further clinical studies.

Gas flow in shales follows a number of physical mechanisms that include Knudsen diffusion,Darcy flow,and adsorption in the matrix and micro *** aim of the study is to resolve the interplay of gas transport in these media at increased effective stress as well as net pore *** this research,we investigated the nature of gas transport in the matrix of shale by sending He,CH_(4)and CO_(2)gases through a transient upstream pressure pulse decay instrument.A series of experiments were conducted at constant pore pressures and a gradually increasing confining *** same study was done in three different scenarios,injecting He,CO_(2)and CH_(4).At a constant pore pressure,gas permeability appears to decrease with an increasing confining pressure and effective *** increasing effective stress,the slip factor also decreases along with the *** decrease in slip could be attributed to prestressing,that is likely to create new *** the three purged gases,permeability of shale to CH_(4)is the highest,and that to CO_(2)is the lowest owing to its high *** permeability of CH_(4)against He,could be attributed to the dual transport mechanism.

In this editorial,I comment on three articles published in the recent issue of the World Journal of Gastrointestinal *** carcinoma(HCC)is an important public health concern,and there are three articles on the theme of HCC in this issue.I focus on the articles by Mu et al,Chu et al,and Ma et al for this *** these articles may be considered as low-quality evidence,and the results cannot be generalized to non-hepatitis-B or C virus patients,the discussion of the results is *** addition,though all the articles are from China,the relevance of the results is not *** resection is the main form of curative treatment modality owing to a donor liver shortage,surgeons need to be aware that preoperative long-course antiviral therapy can improve clinical outcomes by reducing postoperative liver dysfunction and recurrence of HCC following ***,patients with super-giant HCC(defined as≥15 cm diameter)should also be carefully considered for liver resection,and if it is unresectable upfront,then a combination of liver-directed therapy and systemic therapy may downstage ***,following downstaging,the patient qualifies for liver resection based on locally prevalent resectability criteria,then such therapy is labelled as conversion(from unresectable to resectable)*** unresectable patients treated by a combination of treatment options,serological markers like neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio and alpha-fetoprotein are reported to predict treatment responses,thus enabling personalized medicine.

Simvastatin, a BCS class II drug, is associated with poor aqueous solubility, first-pass metabolism and short half-life. In the present work, nanoparticles were prepared and evaluated. Optimization of formulation and process parameters was done through the use of independent and dependent variables. preliminary studies were done to determine suitable range of the concentration of Eudragit polymer (10%–30%) and the ratio of drug to polymer (1:1 to 1:5) for the formation of nanoparticles by emulsification and a solvent evaporation technique. Results revealed that the mean size of nanoparticles was affected by stirring speed from 5000 RpM, 8000 RpM, and 12000 RpM. The results of increase in association efficiency and percent yield with increase in amount of drug from 100 mg, 150 mg, and 200 mg in selected range were observed. In-vitro release studies showed that two formulations possess highest initial burst and slow sustained drug release. There was 2.93-fold decrease in total cholesterol and 3.27-fold increases in triglyceride level during in-vivo study.

Laparoscopic hepatectomy for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)has been shown to have superior short-term and comparable long-term outcomes compared with open hepatectomy in experienced centres(1).Short-term advantages include small incisions,reduced post-operative pain,faster recovery,reduced blood loss and lower risk of complications(2).However,the loss of tactile sensation makes it challenging to accurately locate lesions and define tumour margins.

Targeted delivery of neurochemicals and biomolecules for neuromodulation of brain activity is a powerful technique that,in addition to electrical recording and stimulation,enables a more thorough investigation of neural circuit *** have designed a novel,flexible,implantable neural probe capable of controlled,localized chemical stimulation and electrophysiology *** neural probe was implemented using planar micromachining processes on parylene C,a mechanically flexible,biocompatible *** probe shank features two large microelectrodes(chemical sites)for drug loading and sixteen small microelectrodes for electrophysiology recording to monitor neuronal response to drug *** reduce the impedance while keeping the size of the microelectrodes small,poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene)(pEDOT)was electrochemically coated on recording *** addition,pEDOT doped with mesoporous sulfonated silica nanoparticles(SNps)was used on chemical sites to achieve controlled,electrically-actuated drug loading and *** neurotransmitters,including glutamate(Glu)and gamma-aminobutyric acid(GABA),were incorporated into the SNps and electrically triggered to release *** in vitro experiment was conducted to quantify the stimulated release profile by applying a sinusoidal voltage(0.5 V,2 Hz).The flexible neural probe was implanted in the barrel cortex of the wild-type Sprague Dawley *** expected,due to their excitatory and inhibitory effects,Glu and GABA release caused a significant increase and decrease in neural activity,respectively,which was recorded by the recording *** novel flexible neural probe technology,combining on-demand chemical release and high-resolution electrophysiology recording,is an important addition to the neuroscience toolset used to dissect neural circuitry and investigate neural network connectivity.

Alzheimer’s disease(AD)stands out as the primary manifestation of age-related dementia,portraying a chronic neurodegenerative disorder distinguished by the accumulation of fibrillar amyloid-β(Aβ)plaques and neurofibrillary tangles of hyperphosphorylated ***,from a clinical standpoint,AD presents itself as a complex condition with a spectrum of dysfunctions rather than a singular pathological *** often-overlooked aspect of the disease is the presence of extensive cerebrovascular abnormalities,given that the majority of AD patients experience altered cerebral blood flow,damaged vasculature,increased microinfarcts and *** models of AD further support this observation,showing cerebrovascular dysfunction such as impaired cerebral blood flow and altered cerebrovascular reactivity(Tataryn et al.,2021;Gareau et al.,2023).

Assessing the Viability of Gandhar Field in India’s Cambay Basin for CO_(2) Storage

Our research is centered on the Gandhar oil field, which was discovered in 1983, where daily oil production has declined significantly over the years. The primary objective was to evaluate the feasibility of carbon dioxide(CO_(2)) storage through its injection into the siliciclastic reservoirs of Ankleshwar Formation. We aimed to obtain high-resolution acoustic impedance data to estimate porosity employing model-based poststack seismic inversion. We conducted an analysis of the density and effective porosity in the target zone through geostatistical techniques and probabilistic neural networks. Simultaneously, the work also involved geomechanical analysis through the computation of pore pressure and fracture gradient using well-log data, geological information, and drilling events in the Gandhar field. Our investigation unveiled spatial variations in effective porosity within the Hazad Member of the Ankleshwar Formation, with an effective porosity exceeding 25% observed in several areas, which indicates the presence of well-connected pore spaces conducive to efficient CO_(2) migration. Geomechanical analysis showed that the vertical stress(Sv) ranged from 55 Mpa to 57 Mpa in Telwa and from 63.7 Mpa to 67.7 Mpa in Hazad Member. The pore pressure profile displayed variations along the stratigraphic sequence, with the shale zone, particularly in the Kanwa Formation, attaining the maximum pressure gradient(approximately 36 Mpa). However, consistently low pore pressure values(30-34 Mpa) considerably below the fracture gradient curves were observed in Hazad Member due to depletion. The results from our analysis provide valuable insights into shaping future field development strategies and exploration of the feasibility of CO_(2) sequestration in Gandhar Field.
