Cancer is generally regarded as the result of abnorm.l growth of cells. According to World Health Organization, cancer is the leading cause of m.rtality worldwide. m.ther nature provides a large source of bioactive com.ounds with excellent therapeutic efficacy. Num.rous phytochem.cals from.nature have been investigated for anticancer properties. In this review article, we discuss several natural com.ounds, which have shown anti-cancer activity. Natural com.ounds induce cell cycle arrest, activate intrinsic and extrinsic apoptosis pathways, generate Reactive Oxygen Species(ROS), and down-regulate activated signaling pathways, resulting in inhibition of cell proliferation, progression and m.tastasis of cancer. Several preclinical studies have suggested that natural com.ounds can also increase the sensitivity of resistant cancers to available chem.therapy agents. Furtherm.re, com.ining FDA approved anti-cancer drugs with natural com.ounds results in im.roved efficacy. On the basis of these exciting outcom.s of natural com.ounds against several cancer types, several agents have already advanced to clinical trials. In conclusion, preclinical results and clinical outcom.s against cancer suggest prom.sing anticancer efficacy of agents from.natural sources.

For real param.ters αand β such that 0≤α 〈 1 〈β, we denote by S（α,β） the class of norm.lized analytic functions which satisfy the following two-sided inequality：where U denotes the open unit disk. We find a sufficient condition for functions to be in the class S（α,β） and solve several radius problem. related to other well-known function classes.

Scanning electron m.croscopy was done to describe the m.rphology of antennaof adult m.le and fe- m.le ladybeetle, Coccinella septem.unctata . Eleven-segm.nted, scaly antennawas 950μm.in m.le and 980 μm.in fem.le. Electron m.crographs reveal the occurrence of eight typesof sensillae, viz. chaetica ( Ch) , trichoidea (Tr) , basiconica (Ba) , cam.aniform.a (Ca) ,am.ucellaceous (Am. , scolopalia (Sc) , placoidea (PI) and hook shaped sensilla on the antennae ofm.le and fem.le ladybeetles. Ch had long external-process, with base surrounded by m.m.ranous socketand the length was 60 and 70 μm.in m.le and fem.le ladybeetle, respectively. Sensillae Tr weredistally curved and inserted into depression, 9.0 and 15 μm.long in m.le and fem.le ladybeetle,respectively. Sensillae Ba were cuticular peg-like and 0.57 and 0.70 μm.long on the m.le and fem.leantennae. Sensillae Ca were sm.ll dom.-like and had diam.ter of 3.0μm.in both the sexes. SensillaeAm.were pit-like in appearance and the diam.ter of the pit was 1.2 and 1.5 in m.le and fem.leladybeetle, respectively. Sensillae PI were elliptical sunken plates like in both the *** Sc were broad at their apex and pointed at their tip, 2.5μm. A single hook-shapedsensilla of 21.0 μm.in length was present on m.le antenna only. Ch, Ca, Am. and PI were alm.stsim.lar in num.ers in both the sexes. Sensillae Tr were m.re num.rous on the m.le antenna and Bawere m.re num.rous on the fem.le antenna.

Energy transfer processes in Pr 3+ and Er 3+-codoped CaAl 12O 19 crystal from.12 to 290 K were studied. Energy transfer from.Pr 3+ to Er 3+ ions in this system.was observed. The transfer can partially convert the 1S 0 UV fluorescence of Pr 3+ into green em.ssion of the characteristic of Er 3+. The efficiency of the energy transfer was estim.ted based of the spectroscopic data. The tem.erature dependence on the transfer was also discussed.

m.cron sized hexagon- and flower-like nanostructures of lead oxide（α-PbO2） have been synthesized by very sim.le and cost effective route of anodic oxidation of lead sheet. These structures were easily obtained by the sim.le variation of applied voltage from.2-6 V between the electrodes. Lead sheet was used as an anode and platinum.sheet served as a cathode. Anodic oxidation at 2 V resulted in the variable edge sized（1-2 μm. hexagon-like structures in the electrolyte. When the applied potential was increased to 4 V a structure of distorted hexagons consisting of som. flower-like structures were obtained. Further increm.nt of potential up to 6 V resulted in flower like structures of α-PbO2 having six petals. The diam.ter of the flower-like structures was 200-500 nm.and the size of a petal was 100-200 nm.

The electric field required for stable propagation of a positive stream.r along an ice surface was investigated by m.asuring the currents associated with the stream.r *** influence of the surface properties,nam.ly the existence of a water film.on the ice surface and surface contam.nation,was *** showed that in the presence of an ice surface,except in case of low conductive surface,stream.rs propagate stably with an external field lower than that generally m.asured for propagation in air alone(approxim.tely 5 kV/cm..For higher contam.nation levels,the stability field was found to be slightly influenced by the tem.erature,while for lower contam.nation levels,it decreased significantly with an increase in tem.erature.

Light gray to yellowish brown youngest Toba tuff(YTT)ash,preserved in the Quaternary sedim.nts of India,have been used as a tool to know depositional and bracketing tim. period of the sam. in the sedim.nts through applications of lum.nescence dating to interpret age connotation of various geological ***-and post-tephra sedim.nts of YTT ash beds from.Hudki and Sukali areas of Purna alluvial basin,Central India have been optically dated to interpret the depositional age and bracketing tim. of the tephra within sedim.ntary *** sedim.nts are yellowish brown,thinly bedded,lam.nated,silty clay and host laterally extend discontinued beds of 0.15–0.20 m.*** ash is light gray,fine grained and powdery in nature,m.ssive to structureless and lacks any sign of retransportation and redeposition,hence,considered as prim.ry in *** four sedim.nt sam.les,one each from.pre-and post-tephra lithounits of both the localities have been dated through optically stim.lated lum.nescence technique(OSL)equipped with single aliquot regenerative(SAR)procedure on the feldspar *** shows pre-and post-tephra ages of 57±5 and 70±4 ka respectively for Hudki and 66±5 and 67±4 ka for Sukali *** depositional ages suggest that the ash was bracketed within sedim.nts thousands years after YTT *** is correlatable with the previously reported depositional and absolute ages for the YTT ash from.the localities of Ghoghara and Khuntheli,Son Valley;Tejpur,m.dhum.ti River Basin and Jwalapuram.Jurreru *** ages also provide an idea about the period of existence of biological com.unities represented by the rem.ins of faunal and vegetational activities before and during settlem.nt of the YTT ash in the basin area.

In this paper, effort is m.de to dem.nstrate the quality of high-resolution regional ocean circulation m.del in realistically sim.lating the circulation and variability properties of the northern Indian Ocean(10°S–25°N,45°–100°E) covering the Arabian Sea(AS) and Bay of Bengal(BoB). The m.del run using the open boundary conditions is carried out at 10 km.horizontal resolution and highest vertical resolution of 2 m.in the upper *** surface and sub-surface structure of hydrographic variables(tem.erature and salinity) and currents is com.ared against the observations during 1998–2014(17 years). In particular, the seasonal variability of the sea surface tem.erature, sea surface salinity, and surface currents over the m.del dom.in is studied. The highresolution m.del's ability in correct estim.tion of the spatio-tem.oral m.xed layer depth(m.D) variability of the AS and BoB is also shown. The lowest m.D values are observed during spring(m.rch-April-m.y) and highest during winter(Decem.er-January-February) seasons. The m.xim.m.m.D in the AS(BoB) during Decem.er to February reaches 150 m.(67 m.. On the other hand, the m.nim.m.m.D in these regions during m.rch-April-m.y becom.s as low as 11–12 m. The influence of wind stress, net heat flux and freshwater flux on the seasonal variability of the m.D is discussed. The physical processes controlling the seasonal cycle of sea surface tem.erature are investigated by carrying out m.xed layer heat budget analysis. It is found that air-sea fluxes play a dom.nant role in the seasonal evolution of sea surface tem.erature of the northern Indian Ocean and the contribution of horizontal advection, vertical entrainm.nt and diffusion processes is sm.ll. The upper ocean zonal and m.ridional volum. transport across different sections in the AS and BoB is also com.uted. The seasonal variability of the transports is studied in the context of m.nsoonal currents.
