A right module M over an associative ring R with unity is a QTAG-module if every finitely generated submodule of any homomorphic image of M is a direct sum of uniserial modules.This article considers the closure of h-pure-S-high submodules of QTAG-modules.Here,we determine all submodules S of a QTAG-module M such that each closure of h-pure-S-high submodule of M is h-pure-■-high in■.A few results of this theme give a comparison of some elementary properties of h-pure-S-high and S-high submodules.

Particle sizes play a major role to mediate charge transfer, both between identical and different material surfaces. The study probes into the probable mechanism that actuates opposite polarities between two different size fractions of the same material by analyzing the charge transfer patterns of two different sizes of microcrystalline cellulose(MCC). Quantum scale calculations confirmed alteration of charge transfer capacities due to variation of moisture content predicted by multiple surface and bulk analytical techniques. Discrete Element Method(DEM) based multi-scale computational models pertinent to predict charge transfer capacities were further implemented, and the results were in accordance to the experimental charge profiles.

Many technological applications depend on the response of materials to electric fields,but available databases of such responses are limited.Here,we explore the infrared,piezoelectric,and dielectric properties of inorganic materials by combining highthroughput density functional perturbation theory and machine learning approaches.We computeΓ-point phonons,infrared intensities,Born-effective charges,piezoelectric,and dielectric tensors for 5015 non-metallic materials in the JARVIS-DFT database.We find 3230 and 1943 materials with at least one far and mid-infrared mode,respectively.

Diffusion weighted imaging(DWI) is a method of signal contrast generation based on the differences in Brownian motion. DWI is a method to evaluate the molecular function and micro-architecture of the human body. DWI signal contrast can be quantified by apparent diffusion coefficient maps and it acts as a tool for treatment respon-se evaluation and assessment of disease progression. Ability to detect and quantify the anisotropy of diffusion leads to a new paradigm called diffusion tensor imaging(DTI). DTI is a tool for assessment of the organs with highly organised fibre structure. DWI forms an integral part of modern state-of-art magnetic resonance imaging and is indispensable in neuroimaging and oncology. DWI is a field that has been undergoing rapid technical evolution and its applications are increasing every day. This review article provides insights in to the evolution of DWI as a new imaging paradigm and provides a summary of current role of DWI in various disease processes.

Titanium alloys find extensive use in the aerospace and biomedical industries due to a unique combination of strength,density,and corrosion resistance.Decades of mostly experimental research has led to a large body of knowledge of the processingmicrostructure-properties linkages.But much of the existing understanding of point defects that play a significant role in the mechanical properties of titanium is based on semi-empirical rules.In this work,we present the results of a detailed self-consistent first-principles study that was developed to determine formation energies of intrinsic point defects including vacancies,selfinterstitials,and extrinsic point defects,such as,interstitial and substitutional impurities/dopants.We find that most elements,regardless of size,prefer substitutional positions,but highly electronegative elements,such as C,N,O,F,S,and Cl,some of which are common impurities in Ti,occupy interstitial positions.

Simultaneous bilateral intertrochanteric fractures are very rare.There is a paucity of data in current literature documenting patients with such kind of hip fractures.It is severe and potentially life-threatening, associated with a high morbidity.The major determinants of successful outcome are high vigilance,early single stage stabilization and mobilization as well as management of associated comorbid conditions that may influence the long term rehabilitation of patients.Here we reported 4 cases of concurrent bilateral trochanteric fractures along with review of the literature.Our study aimed to discover its frequency, identify the injury mechanisms as well as factors present in the pathogenesis of these fractures,and outline the available treatment modalities.

Fractures of the radial neck account for 5-10% of traumatic lesions of the elbow in the child. Conservative method of reduction may fail to reduce severely displaced fractures. Open reduction of severely displaced radial neck fractures is associated with a high incidence of complications. The present study describes the results achieved after closed and indirect reduction of the severely displaced radial head using a 2-mm K-wire passed intramedullary from near the radial styloid. The bent tip of the K-wire was used to manipulate the displaced head back to the shaft without opening the fracture site. The indirect reduction of the radial head using bent intramedullary K-wire is a simple, minimally invasive method, easy to perform, and obtains encouraging results with few complications. Intramedullary pin also achieves fixation of the radial head after reduction and prevents its secondary displacement.
