Hydrogen roles approaching ideal electrical and optical properties for undoped and Al doped ZnO thin films

This paper distinguished hydrogen roles to improve electron mobility and carrier concentration in ZnO and Al doped ZnO sputtered *** combining experimental evidences and theoretical results,we find out that hydrogen located at oxygen vacancy sites(H_(O))is the main factor gives rise to increase simultaneously mobility and carrier concentration which has not been mentioned *** appropriate hydrogen content during sputtering not only results in crystalline relaxation but also supports doping Al into ZnO,increasing carrier concentration and electron mobility in the *** principles calculations confirmed hydrogen substitutional stability for oxygen vacancy,significantly reducing electron conductivity effective mass and hence increasing electron *** particular,0.8%hydrogen partial pressure ratio achieved 61 cm^(2)V^(-1)s^(-1)maximum electron mobility,optical transmittance above 82%in visible and near-infrared regions,and 2×10^(20) cm^(-3)carrier concentrations for H-Al co-doped ZnO *** values approach ideal electrical and optical properties for transparent conducting oxide *** presence of one maximum electron mobility was attributed to competition between increasing mobility due to restoring effective electron mass and hydrogen passivation of native defects,and decreased electron mobility due to electron-phonon scattering.

Wall shear-stress extraction by an optical flow algorithm with a sub-grid formulation

In this study,we developed a novel optical-flow algorithm for determining the wall shear-stress on the surface of *** algorithm solves the thin-oil-film equation using a numerical scheme that recovers local features neglected by smoothing filters.A variational formulation with a smoothness constraint was applied to extract the global shear-stress *** algorithm was then applied to scalar images generated using direct numerical simulation(DNS)method,which revealed that the errors were smaller than those of conventional *** application of the proposed algorithm to recover the wall shear-stress on a low-aspect-ratio wing and on an axisymmetric boattail model taken as examples in this study showed a strong potential for analysing shear-stress *** to the methods used in previous studies,proposed method reveals more local features of separation line and singular points on object surface.

Hydrodynamic description of D meson production in high-energy heavy-ion collisions

The large values and constituent-quark-number scaling of the elliptic flow of low-pT D mesons imply that charm quarks,initially produced through hard processes,might be partially thermalized through strong interactions with quark-gluon plasma(QGP)in high-energy heavy-ion *** quantify the degree of thermalization of low-pT charm quarks,we compare the D^(0)meson spectra and elliptic flow from a hydrodynamic model to experimental data as well as transport model *** use an effective charm chemical potential at the freeze-out temperature to account for the initial charm quark production from hard processes and assume that they are thermalized in the local comoving frame of the medium before freeze-out.D^(0)mesons are sampled statistically from the freeze-out hyper-surface of the expanding QGP as described by the event-by-event(3+1)D viscous hydrodynamic model *** the hydrodynamic and transport models can describe the elliptic flow of D^(0)mesons at pT~3 GeV/c as measured in Au+Au collisions at√SNN=200 *** the experimental data on D^(0)spectra are consistent with the hydrodynamic result at small pT~1 GeV/c,they deviate from the hydrodynamic model at high transverse momentum,pT~2 GeV/*** diffusion and parton energy loss mechanisms in the transport model can describe the measured spectra reasonably well within the theoretical *** comparative study indicates that charm quarks only approach local thermal equilibrium at small pT,even though they acquire sizable elliptic flow comparable to light-quark hadrons at both small and intermediate pT.

Air cathodes with high electrocatalytic activity are vital for developing H2/O_(2) proton exchange membrane fuel cells(PEMFC)and Zn-air ***,the state-of-the-art air cathodes suffer from either limited catalytic activity or high cost,which thus hinder their ***,we designed ZIF-8 derived nitrogen and atomic iron dual-doped porous carbon nanocubes as high-quality catalysts for ORR,through a novel gas-doping *** porous carbon nanocubic architecture and abundant Fe-Nxactive species endow ZIF-8 derived single atomic iron catalyst(PCN-A@Fe SA)with superior catalytic activity,and surpass Pt/C and a majority of the reported *** XAS and DFT calculations suggest that Fe2+N4 moieties are the main active centers that are favorable for oxygen affinity and OH*intermediate desorption,which can result in promising catalytic *** importantly,PCNA@Fe SA can achieve power density of 514 m W cm^(-2) as cathodic catalyst in a PEMFC and discharge peak power density of 185 m W cm^(-2) in an alkaline Zn-air *** outstanding performance is derived from both the high specific surface area and high-density of iron single atom in nitrogen doped nanocubic carbon matrix.

Investigation of Punch Resistance of the Allomyrira dichtoloma Beetle Forewing

In this study, the punch resistance of the beetle forewing was investigated to address the ability of the forewing against the external force. The punch resistance of the forewing was measured for different sizes and sexes of beetles using a conventional testing method in conjunction with the Digital Image Correlation （DIC） technique. The results showed that the maximum fracture load was measured around 23 N for the female beetle and around 20.2 N for the male beetle in the front-side punch test. Moreover, the fracture load in the front-side punch test was higher than that in the back-side punch test for both male and female beetles. This means that the beetle forewing plays a protection role against external loads. Furthermore, the puncture energy in the front-side punch test for the female beetle （6.91 m J） was a little higher than that for the male beetle （5.27 mJ）. In addition, the DIC results revealed that the first crack occurred along the trachea line and the second crack then appeared in the direction that was perpendicular to the direction of the first crack. This study provides a com- prehensive understanding of the mechanical protection properties of the beetle forewing and offers a good lesson for studying lightweight bio-inspired composite material.

Lithium-selenium(Li-Se)batteries are deemed as an emerging high energy density electrochemical energy storage system owing to their high specific capacity and volume *** to their practicality,a series of critical challenges from the Se cathode side need to be overcome including low reactivity of bulk Se,shuttle effect of intermediates,sluggish redox kinetics of polyselenides,and volume change *** this review,recent progress on design strategies of functional Se cathodes are comprehensively summarized and *** the significance and key challenges,various efficient functionalized strategies for Se cathodes are presented,encompassing covalent bonding,nanostructure construction,heteroatom doping,component hybridization,and solid solution ***,the universality of these functional strategies are successfully extended into Na-Se batteries,K-Se batteries,and Mg-Se *** last,a brief summary is made and some perspectives are offered with the goal of guiding future research advances and further exploration of these strategies.

The instability of colloidal lead halide perovskite nanocrystals(NCs)presents a significant challenge for their application in optoelectronic *** review examines the primary causes of instability in these NCs and the proposed mechanisms of *** also introduces the recently developed synthesis and surface passivation methods to address the instability issue of colloidal perovskite ***,we focus on the various types of ligands and precursors introduced during NC synthesis or post-treatment and how they impact the structural and optical properties of the perovskite *** review also proposes a systematic approach to evaluating stability enhancement strategies by establishing key parameters and ranking them based on working and processing ***,we discuss the issues that need to be addressed in future research to achieve practical application of lead halide perovskite NCs in advanced optoelectronic systems.

Characteristics of Suspended Particulate Matter and the Coastal Turbidity Maximum Areas of the Mekong River

This paper presents the results of application of a 3D （three-dimensional） numerical model to study on MTZ （maximum turbidity zone） in the coastal zone of Mekong River Delta. In this study, a 3D system model with combination of hydrodynamics--wave and suspended sediment transport was set up and validated with measured data in the study area. Based on calculated scenarios for the flood and the dry season, the results have shown appearance of MTZs in the coastal zone of Mekong River with suspended sediment concentration prevalent of 0.04-0.07 kg·m^3 （the dry season） and 0.05-0.1kg·m^3 （the flood season）. The position and MTZs scale change with the interaction between fresh water and tidal oscillations. The MTZ occur more in the dry seasons compared to the wet season. The MTZs are prevalent located far away from estuaries about in 12-22 km （in the dry season）, and 5-15 km in the flood season.
