BACKGROUND Tuberculosis(TB)remains one of the highest Asia’s health *** TB in diabetes mellitus(DM)and hypothyroidism patients is a rare case of extrapulmonary ***,there is a lack of therapeutic guidelines to treat spondylitis TB,particularly with type 2 DM(T2DM)and hypothyroidism as *** we present a case of spondylitis TB with T2DM and hypothyroidism in a relatively young patient and its therapeutic *** sUMMARY We report the case of a 35-year-old male patient from surabaya,*** on anamnesis,physical examination,and magnetic resonance imaging,the patient has been categorized in stage II of spondylitis TB with grade 1 ***,the patient also had a high HbA1c level,high thyroid stimulating hormone,and low free T_(4)(FT_(4)),which indicated T2DM and hypothyroidism.A granulomatous process was observed in the histopathological *** antituberculosis drugs isoniazid and rifampicin were *** addition,insulin,empagliflozin,and linagliptin were given to control hyperglycemia conditions,and also levothyroxine to control *** The outcome was *** patient was able to do daily activities without pain and maintained normal glycemic and thyroid *** such cases,we recommend the treatment of spondylitis TB by spinal surgery,together with T2DM and hypothyroidism therapies,to improve the patients’*** early and non-invasive diagnoses and therapy are necessary.

Accuracy of self-reported medicines use compared to pharmaceutical claims data amongst a national sample of older Australian women

This study assessed agreement between two measures of medicine use, self-report by mail and pharmaceutical claims data, for a national sample (N = 4687) of older women aged 79 to84 in2005, from the Australian Longitudinal study on Women’s Health. Medicines used for common chronic diseases in older people were selected, with pharmaceutical claims data retrieval periods of three and six months. For six month retrieval, Kappa’s ranged between 0.44 (nervous system medicines) and 0.94 (glucose lowering medicines). For three month retrieval, aspirin (Kappa: 0.35) and folic acid (Kappa = 0.48) had lowest agreement. Women were least able to accurately report use of nervous system medicines (sensitivity 80%). specificity was consistently high across all classes, suggesting women could accurately report using a medicine. Pharmaceutical claims data can assist evaluation of judicious medicines use, changes to availability and uptake of medicines, and track medicine expenditure for chronic conditions. Over-the-counter medicines, medicines not covered by pharmaceutical subsidies and those used on an as needed basis may be best measured by self-report, as use may be underestimated using pharmaceutical claims data.

Effect of cold rolling on the microstructural, magnetic, mechanical, and corrosion properties of AIsI 316L austenitic stainless steel

This study has evaluated the effect of different levels of cold rolling（from 0 to 50%）on the microstructural,magnetic,and mechanical properties and the corrosion behavior of 316L austenitic stainless steel in Na Cl（1 mol/L）＋H_2sO_4（0.5 mol/L）*** examinations using optical microscopy revealed the development of a morphological texture from coaxial to elongated grains during the cold-rolling *** analysis carried out on the basis of X-ray diffraction confirmed the formation of the ferromagneticα′-martensite phase under the stresses applied during cold *** finding is in agreement with magnetic measurements using a vibrating sample *** properties determined by tensile and Vickers microhardness tests demonstrated an upward trend in the hardness-to-yield strength ratio with increasing cold-rolling percentage,representing a reduction in the material’s work-hardening *** and localized corrosion parameters were estimated via potentiodynamic polarization corrosion tests and electrochemical impedance *** contrast to the uniform corrosion,wherein the corrosion current density increased with increasing cold-working degree because of the high density of microstructural defects,the passive potential range and breakdown potential increased by cold working,showing greater resistance to pit *** pits were formed,the cold-rolled material repassivation tendency decreased because of the broader hysteresis anodic loop,as confirmed experimentally by observation of the microscopic features after electrochemical cyclic polarization evaluations.

Fatigue Behaviour of Naval steel Under seawater Environmental and Variable Loading Conditions

The way to characterize the behaviour of a naval steel grade E36 subjected to the corrosive fatigue process is investigated. The tests were carried out by bending fatigue of plate specimens with thickness of 10 mm in the corrosive environment consisting of an aqueous solution of 3.5% of NaCl which is similar to seawater. Experimental results show that the principal mechanism of degradation of the superficial layer is based on the pit evolution,evidenced by electrochemical,micro and macro structural timely changes such as evolution of electrode potential,evolution of current density,polarization resistance,anodic and cathodic parameters,and dislocation density evolution.

糖尿病性神经病是糖尿病最常见的并发症.症状累及全身神经系统,可单独或联合出现,也可无症状.有些症状亦可见于其它疾病,因此需进行排它诊断. 糖尿病性神经病影响近端和远端感觉神经和运动神经及自主神经,很难精确估计其发生率, 报道的发生率为10%～90%.就诊的病人中25%有症状,50%的病人经简单的临床检查发现神经病变.Ⅰ型和Ⅱ型糖尿病人神经病变并发症的发生率相同.神经病变使截肢的危险性增加 ,严重影响糖尿病人的生活质量.一旦发生自主神经病变,5～10年死亡率达25%～50%.

Comprehensive analysis of slope stability and determination of stable slopes in the Chador-Malu iron ore mine using numerical and limit equilibrium methods

One of the critical aspects in mine design is slope stability analysis and the determination of stable slopes. In the Chador- Malu iron ore mine, one of the most important iron ore mines in central Iran, it was considered vital to perform a comprehensive slope stability analysis. At first, we divided the existing rock hosting pit into six zones and a geotechnical map was prepared. Then, the value of MRMR （Mining Rock Mass Rating） was determined for each zone. Owing to the fact that the Chador-Malu iron ore mine is located in a highly tectonic area and the rock mass completely crushed, the Hoek-Brown failure criterion was found suitable to estimate geo-mechanical parameters. After that, the value of cohesion （c） and friction angle （tp） were calculated for different geotechnical zones and relative graphs and equations were derived as a function of slope height. The stability analyses using numerical and limit equilibrium methods showed that some instability problems might occur by increasing the slope height. Therefore, stable slopes for each geotechnical zone and prepared sections were calculated and presented as a function of slope height.

Application of wave equation theory to improve dynamic cone penetration test for shallow soil characterisation

Among the geotechnical in situ tests,the dynamic penetration test(DPT)is commonly used around the ***,DPT remains a rough technique and provides only one failure parameter:blow count or cone *** paper presents an improvement of the dynamic cone penetration test(DCPT)for soil characterisation based on the wave equation *** on an instrumented lightweight dynamic penetrometer driving with variable energy,the main process of the test involves the separation and reconstruction of the waves propagating in the rods after each blow and provides a dynamic cone load-penetration(DCLT)*** analytical methodology is used to analyse this curve and to estimate additional strength and deformation parameters of the soil:dynamic and pseudo-static cone resistances,deformation modulus and wave *** carried out in the laboratory on different specimens(wood,concrete,sand and clay)in an experimental sand pit and in the field demonstrated that the resulting DCLT curve is reproducible,sensitive and reliable to the test conditions(rod length,driving energy,etc.)as well as to the soil properties(nature,density,etc.).Obtained results also showed that the method based on shock polar analysis makes it possible to evaluate mechanical impedance and wave velocity of soils,as demonstrated by the comparisons with cone penetration test(CPT)and shear wave velocity measurements made in the *** technique improves the method and interpretation of DPT and provides reliable data for shallow foundation design.
