Evolution of the rare earth trade network:A perspective of dependency and competition

As a global strategic reserve resource,rare earth has been widely used in important industries,such as military equipment and ***,existing analyses based solely on the total volume of rare earth trade fail to uncover the underlying competition and dependency *** address this gap,this paper employs the principles of trade preference and import similarity to construct dependency and competition *** network analysis is then employed to study the evolution of the global rare earth trade network from 2002 to *** main conclusions are as *** global rare earth trade follows the Pareto principle,and the trade network shows a scale-free *** has emerged as the world’s largest importer and exporter of rare earth since *** the dependency network,China has become the most dependent country since *** result of community division shows that China has separated from the American community and formed new communities with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations(ASEAN)*** United States of America has formed a super-strong community with European and Asian *** the competition network,the distribution of competition intensity follows a scale-free *** countries face low-intensity competition,but there are numerous competing *** competition related to China has increased ***,the competition source for the United States of America has shifted from Mexico to China,resulting in China,the USA,and japan becoming the core participants in the competition network.

Combinatorial therapies for spinal cord injury repair

Spinal cord injuries have profound detrimental effects on individuals, regardless of whether they are caused by trauma or non-traumatic events. The compromised regeneration of the spinal cord is primarily attributed to damaged neurons, inhibitory molecules, dysfunctional immune response, and glial scarring. Unfortunately, currently, there are no effective treatments available that can fully repair the spinal cord and improve functional outcomes. Nevertheless, numerous pre-clinical approaches have been studied for spinal cord injury recovery, including using biomaterials, cells, drugs, or technological-based strategies. Combinatorial treatments, which target various aspects of spinal cord injury pathophysiology, have been extensively tested in the last decade. These approaches aim to synergistically enhance repair processes by addressing various obstacles faced during spinal cord regeneration. Thus, this review intends to provide scientists and clinicians with an overview of pre-clinical combinatorial approaches that have been developed toward the solution of spinal cord regeneration as well as update the current knowledge about spinal cord injury pathophysiology with an emphasis on the current clinical management.

Vibrational resonance in a multistable system with position-dependent mass

The occurrence of vibrational resonance(VR)in a dual-frequency-driven multistable system with a spatially varying mass modelling particle with position-dependent mass(PDM)and evolving in a one-dimensional symmetric periodic potential has been investigated and reported in this *** numerically compute and analyze the response amplitude,the effects of the PDM parameters(m0,a)on the potential structure,the occurrence of VR and the bifurcation of the equilibrium *** is shown that the PDM parameters,besides controlling VR,can induce unconventional resonance patterns through the variation of the potential well *** resonant states can be influenced through the cooperation of the PDM parameters and the external forcing leading the system from multiresonance state into single and double resonance *** contributions of the fixed rest mass m0 on the VR and the PDM-induced resonance are determined by threshold conditions imposed by the magnitude of the mass nonlinear strength a.

Anonymity preserving lightweight authentication protocol for resource-limited wireless sensor networks

Wireless sensor networks have been deployed in areas such as healthcare,military,transportation and home automation to collect data and forward it to remote users for further *** open wireless communication channels are utilized for data transmissions,the exchanged messages are vulnerable to various threats such as eavesdropping and message ***,many security solutions have been introduced to address these ***,the resource-constrained nature of the sensor nodes makes it inefficient to deploy the conventional security schemes which require long keys for improved ***,lightweight authentication protocols have been ***,majority of these schemes are still insecure while others incur relatively higher energy,computation,communication and storage *** this paper,a protocol that deploys only lightweight one-way hashing and exclusive OR operations is *** formal security analysis using Real-or Random(ROR)model demonstrates its capability to uphold the security of the derived session *** addition,its semantic security evaluation shows that it offers user privacy,anonymity,untraceability,authentication,session key agreement and key ***,it is shown to resist attacks such as side-channeling,physical capture,eavesdropping,offline guessing,spoofing,password loss,session key disclosure,forgery and *** terms of performance,it has relatively lower communication overheads and improves the computation costs and supported security characteristics by 31.56%and 33.33%respectively.

Evolutionary and paleobiological implications of Coleoptera (Insecta) from Tethyan-influenced Cretaceous ambers

The intense study of coleopteran inclusions from Spanish （Albian in age） and French （Albian-Santonian in age） Cretaceous ambers, both of Laurasian origin, has revealed that the majority of samples belong to the Polyphaga suborder and, in contrast to the case of the compression fossils, only one family of Archostemata, one of Adephaga, and no Myxophaga suborders are represented. A total of 30 families from Spain and 16 families from France have been identified （with almost twice bioinclusions identified in Spain than in France）; 13 of these families have their most ancient representatives within these ambers. A similar study had previously only been performed on Lebanese ambers （Barremian in age and Gondwanan in origin）, recording 36 coleopteran families. Few lists of taxa were available for Myanmar （Burmese） amber （early Cenomanian in age and Laurasian in origin）. Coleopteran families found in Cretaceous ambers share with their modern relatives mainly saproxylic and detritivorous habits in the larval or adult stages, rather than wood-boring behavior. Fifteen of the coleopteran families occur in both the Lebanese and Spanish ambers; while only five are present in both Spanish and French. Considering the paleogeographic proximity and similarity of age of the Spanish and French ambers, the small number of taxa found in common at both areas is surprising. The ancient origin for the Lebanese and Spanish ambers, the paleogeography （including some barriers for terrestrial biota） and the local paleohabitats are factors that may explain the dissimilarity with the French specimens. Wildfires are believed to be a more likely cause of resin production during the Cretaceous than infestation by beetles. Current knowledge of the beetle species found in the Cretaceous ambers is introduced.

Verapamil and vasospastic angina： underuse in the elderly population

The first case of Prinzmetal angina was described in 1959 by Prinzmetal, et al. Since this description, several triggering factors have been associated with vasospastic angina （VA） and included： illicit drugs such as cocaine, amphetamine or marijuana, but also bitter-orange, alcohol, butane, chemotherapy drugs, over-the-counter medication and different antibiotics. Smoking is also a major risk factor for developing VA.t21 Thus, except for smoking, many of conventional atherosclerosis risk factors do not appear to be applicable to VA.t21 However, vasospastic angina can also occur without any triggering factor.

Conservation and Diversity of MicroRNA-associated Copper-regulatory Networks in Populus trichocarpa

Plants develop important regulatory networks to adapt to the frequently-changing availability of copper （Cu）, However, little is known about miRNA-associated Cu-regulatory networks in plant species other than Arabidopsis. Here, we report that Cu-responsive miRNAs in Populus trichocarpa （Torr. ＆ Gray） include not only conserved miR397, miR398 and miR408, but also Populus-specific miR1444, suggesting the conservation and diversity of Cu-responsive miRNAs in plants. Copper-associated suppression of mature miRNAs is in company with the up-regulation of their target genes encoding Cu-containing proteins in Populus. The targets include miR397-targeted PtLAC5, PtLAC6 and PtLAC110a, miR398- targeted PtCSD1, PtCSD2a and PtCSD2b, miR408-targeted PtPCL1, PtPCL2, PtPCL3 and PtLAC4, and miR1444-targeted PtPP03 and PtPP06. Consistently, P. trichocarpa miR408 promoter-directed GUS gene expression is down-regulated by Cu in transgenic tobacco plants. Cu-response elements （CuREs） are found in the promoters of Cu-responsive miRNA genes. We identified 34 SQUAMOSA-promoter binding protein-like （SPL） genes, of which 17 are full-length PtSPL proteins or partial sequences with at least 300 amino acids. Phylogenetic analysis indicates that PtSPL3 and PtSPL4 are CuRE-binding proteins controlling Cu-responsive gene expression. Cu appears to be not involved in the regulation of these transcription factors because neither PtSPL3 nor PtSPL4 is Cu-regulated and no CuRE exists in their promoters.

Light emission of europium(Eu^(3+))ions placed in the vicinity of optically resonant nanoantennas is usually controlled by tailoring the local density of photon states(LDOS).We show that the polarization and shape of the excitation beam can also be used to manipulate light emission,as azimuthally or radially polarized cylindrical vector beam offers to spatially shape the electric and magnetic fields,in addition to the effect of silicon nanorings(Si-NRs)used as *** photoluminescence(PL)mappings of the Eu^(3+)transitions and the Si phonon mappings are strongly dependent of both the excitation beam and the Si-NR *** experimental results of Raman scattering and photoluminescence are confirmed by numerical simulations of the near-field intensity in the Si nanoantenna and in the Eu^(3+)-doped film,*** branching ratios obtained from the experimental PL maps also reveal a redistribution of the electric and magnetic emission *** results show that it could be possible to spatially control both electric and magnetic dipolar emission of Eu^(3+)ions by switching the laser beam polarization,hence the near field at the excitation wavelength,and the electric and magnetic LDOS at the emission *** paves the way for optimized geometries taking advantage of both excitation and emission processes.

Introduction:Alzheimer 's disease(AD) is a common neurodegenerative disorder and the primary cause of dementia. Considerable evidence supports the “amyloid hypothesis,” stating that the pathogenesis of AD is primarily caused by the deposition of amyloid-β(Aβ), which drives tau phosphorylation, neuroinflammation, and neurodegeneration in the brain. The amyloid hypothesis is strengthened by the significant and moderate benefit of lecanemab, a humanized antibody through an anti-amyloid mechanism,showing slowed clinical decline(van Dyck et al.,2023). The recent positive results of anti-amyloid trials have brought back focus on the amyloid hypothesis through biochemical, genetic, and pharmacological approaches(Zhang, 2023).
