Oculocutaneous albinism (OCA) is an ihherited autosomal recessive disease that results in dramaticreductions of pigmentation of the skin, hair and eyes of affected individuals. There are a number of differentforms of OCA, and so far 4 distinct types have been identified. OCA1 results from mutations of the tyrosinasegene (TYR). AIM:To examine effects of chronic methadone usage on bowel visualization,preparation,and repeat ***:In-patient colonoscopy reports from October,2004 to May,2009 for methadone dependent(md) patients were retrospectively evaluated and compared to matched opioid naive controls(C).Strict criteria were applied to exclude patients with risk factors known to cause constipation or gastric *** reports of all eligible patients were analyzed for degree of bowel visualization,assessment of bowel preparation(good,fair,or poor),and whether a repeat colonoscopy was *** visualization was scored on a 4 point scale based on multiple prior studies:excellent = 1,good = 2,fair = 3,or poor = *** of variance(ANOVA) and Pearson χ 2 test were used for data *** analysis included correlation between methadone dose and colonoscopy *** variables significantly differing between md and C groups were included in both univariate and multivariate logistic regression analyses.P values were two sided,and md patients and 115 C patients underwent a colonoscopy during the designated study period.A total of 67 colonoscopy reports for md patients and 72 for C were included for data *** and gender matched controls were randomly selected from this population to serve as controls in a numerically comparable *** average age for md patients was 52.2 ± 9.2 years(range:32-72 years) years compared to 54.6 ± 15.5 years(range:20-81 years) for C(P = 0.27).Sixty nine percent of patients in md and 65% in C group were males(P = 0.67).When evaluating colonoscopy reports for bowel visualization,md patients had significantly greater percentage of solid stool(i.e.,poor visualization) compared to C(40.3% vs 6.9%,P < 0.001).Poor bowel preparation(35.8% vs 9.7%,P < 0.001) and need for repeat colonoscopy(32.8% vs 12.5%,P = 0.004)

BACKGROUND Cytoreductive surgery and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy(CRS/HIPEC)for peritoneal surface malignancy can effectively control the disease,however it is also associated with adverse effects which may affect quality of life(QoL).AIM To investigate early perioperative QoL after CRS/HIPEC,which has not been discussed in *** This single institution,observational cohort study enrolled patients who received CRS/*** assessed QoL using the Taiwan residents version of the md Anderson Symptom Inventory(mdASI-T)and European Organization Research and Treatment of Cancer Core Quality of Life Questionnaire(EORTC QLQ-C30).Participants completed the questionnaires before CRS/HIPEC(S1),at the first outpatient follow-up(S2),and 3 mo after CRS/HIPEC(S3).RESULTS Fifty-eight patients were *** was no significant perioperative difference in global health *** changes in physical and role functioning scores decreased at S2,and fatigue and pain scores increased at S2 but returned to baseline at *** regression analysis showed that age and performance status were significantly correlated with *** the mdASI-T questionnaire,distress/feeling upset and lack of appetite had the highest scores at S1,compared to fatigue and distress/feeling upset at S2,and fatigue and lack of appetite at *** leading interference items were working at S1 and S2 and activity at ***-T scores were significantly negatively correlated with the EORTC QLQ-C30 *** QoL and symptom severity improved or returned to baseline in most categories within 3 mo after CRS/*** findings can help with preoperative consultation and perioperative care.

研究目的:二氧化钛(TiO2)纳米颗粒已经广泛应用于化妆品、防晒霜、涂料和牙膏等。这些纳米颗粒性质非常稳定,能在废水和生物固体中转移和分散。现有研究表明,TiO2纳米颗粒对动物正常生理活动具有毒性等负面作用。但是,它们对植物是否具有毒性特别是是否会产生植物基因毒性至今尚不清楚。因此,本文使用随机扩增多态性DNA技术研究TiO2纳米颗粒是否对西葫芦具有基因毒性,为TiO2纳米颗粒排放进入环境后的潜在植物毒性风险评价提供依据。创新要点:首次发现了TiO2纳米颗粒对西葫芦具有基因毒性。重要结论:采用随机扩增多态性DNA技术,发现TiO2纳米颗粒污染处理的西葫芦样品与未处理样品的基因组DNA图谱相比,不仅在谱带强度有明显差异,而且存在谱带消失和新谱带产生现象,表明TiO2纳米颗粒对西葫芦具有基因毒性。

The application of extracellular vesicles,particularly exosomes(EXs),is rapidly expanding in the field of medicine,owing to their remarkable properties as natural carriers of biological *** study investigates utilization of exosomes derived from stromal cells of tumor adjacent normal tissues(NAF-EXs)for personalized medicine,which can be derived at the time of diagnosis by endoscopic ***,we show that exosomes(EXs)derived from NAFs demonstrate differential bio-physical characteristics,efficient cellular internalization,drug loading efficiency,pancreatic tumor targeting and delivery of ***-derived EXs(NAF-EXs)were used for loading ormeloxifene(ORM),a potent anti-cancer and desmoplasia inhibitor as a model *** found that ORM maintains normal fibroblast cell phenotype and renders them incompatible to be triggered for a CAF-like phenotype,which may be due to regulation of Ca^(2+) influx in fibroblast ***-EXs-ORM effectively blocked oncogenic signaling pathways involved in desmoplasia and epithelial mesenchymal transition(EMT)and repressed tumor growth in xenograft mouse *** conclusion,our data suggests preferential tropism of NAF-EXs for PDAC tumors,thus imply feasibility of developing a novel personalized medicine for PDAC patients using autologous NAF-EXs for improved therapeutic outcome of anti-cancer ***,it provides the opportunity of utilizing this biological scaffold for effective therapeutics in combination with standard therapeutic regimen.

目的研究DPC4基因和神经细胞粘附分子(neural cell adhesion molecule, NCAM)分子表达的偶联性与胆管癌神经浸润转移的关系.方法以RT-PCR技术扩增18例新鲜胆管癌标本RNA,32P标记DPC4,NCAM作探针,作斑点杂交,放射自显影图像分析确定3种分子表达强度,建立DPC4和NCAM表达关系的数学模型.结果 DPC4基因表达强度随胆管癌恶性程度的增加而降低,NCAM则升高.数学关系模型为Y=0.5955/(-0.0339+X),显示两者呈负相关(P＜0.05).结论???????????????????
