Functional networks(FNs)hold significant promise in understanding brain *** component analysis(ICA)has been applied in estimating FNs from functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI).However,determining an optimal model order for ICA remains challenging,leading to criticism about the reliability of FN ***,we propose a SMART(splitting-merging assisted reliable)ICA method that automatically extracts reliable FNs by clustering independent components(ICs)obtained from multi-model-order ICA using a simplified graph while providing linkages among FNs deduced from different-model *** extend SMART ICA to multi-subject fMRI analysis,validating its effectiveness using simulated and real fMRI *** on simulated data,the method accurately estimates both group-common and group-unique components and demonstrates robustness to *** two age-matched cohorts of resting fMRI data comprising 1,950 healthy subjects,the resulting reliable group-level FNs are greatly similar between the two cohorts,and interestingly the subject-specific FNs show progressive changes while age ***,both small-scale and large-scale brain FN templates are provided as benchmarks for future *** together,SMART ICA can automatically obtain reliable FNs in analyzing multi-subject fMRI data,while also providing linkages between different FNs.

Low mass ratio contact binary systems are more likely to have unstable orbits and potentially *** addition,such systems exhibit characteristics such as starspots and high energy emissions(UV)suggestive of chromospheric and magnetic *** curve modeling of ten contact binary systems is *** were found to be of extreme low mass ratio ranging from 0.122 to 0.24 and three were found to be potentially unstable and possible merger *** of the infrared calcium absorption lines is a marker of increased chromospheric *** use the available Large Sky Area Multi-Object Fiber Spectroscopic Telescope spectra along with matched standard spectra(broadened for rotation)to measure the excess filling of the central core depression flux of the two main infrared calcium absorption linesλ8542 andλ*** find that all reported contact binaries have excess filling of the core flux in the infrared calcium *** of the systems reported were also observed by the Galaxy Evolution Explorer mission and we find that all three have features of excess ultraviolet emissions further adding evidence for increased chromospheric activity in low mass ratio contact *** of both orbital stability and absorption line filling is dependent on the determination of geometric and absolute parameters from light curve *** an insignificant number of contact binary light curves exhibit the O’Connell effect,usually attributed to *** discuss the inclusion of starspots in light curve solutions and how they influence the geometric and absolute parameters.

In the era of big data,where vast amounts of information are being generated and collected at an unprecedented rate,there is a pressing demand for innovative data-driven multi-modal fusion *** methods aim to integrate diverse neuroimaging per-spectives to extract meaningful insights and attain a more comprehensive understanding of complex psychiatric ***,analyzing each modality separately may only reveal partial insights or miss out on important correlations between different types of *** is where data-driven multi-modal fusion techniques come into *** combining information from multiple modalities in a synergistic manner,these methods enable us to uncover hidden patterns and relationships that would otherwise remain *** this paper,we present an extensive overview of data-driven multimodal fusion approaches with or without prior information,with specific emphasis on canonical correlation analysis and independent component *** applications of such fusion methods are wide-ranging and allow us to incorporate multiple factors such as genetics,environment,cognition,and treatment outcomes across various brain *** summarizing the diverse neuropsychiatric magnetic resonance imaging fusion applications,we further discuss the emerging neuroimaging analyzing trends in big data,such as N-way multimodal fusion,deep learning approaches,and clinical ***,multimodal fusion emerges as an imperative approach providing valuable insights into the under-lying neural basis of mental disorders,which can uncover subtle abnormalities or potential biomarkers that may benefit targeted treatments and personalized medical interventions.

Pharmaceutical compounds in aquatic environment in China： locally screening and environmental risk assessment

An environmental risk assessment was performed for pharmaceutical compounds present in the aquatic environment of China. Predicted environmental concentration （PEC） of the compounds were calculated according to European Medicines Evaluation Agency （EMEA） guidelines. Available ecotoxicological data compromised by applying a very conservative assessment factor （AF） were employed to calculate the predicted noeffect concentration （PNEC）. The screening principle and the risk assessment were based on risk quotient （RQ）, which derived from the PEC and related PNEC values. PEC results indicated that all the compounds except sulfadimethoxine and levocamitine, should carry out phase II risk assessment in EMEA guideline. RQ values suggested that more than 36 pharmaceuticals may be imposed health threats to the aquatic environment; especially the antibiotic therapeutic class including amoxicillin, sulfasalazine, trimethoprim, oxytetracycline and erythromycin showed high RQ values. These substances with high RQ value （RQ≥ 1） were regarded as top- priority pharmaceuticals for control in the aquatic environment of China. However, the antibiotic substances which had low risk quotient （RQ 〈 1）, should be reassessed by its potentially induced resistance under low concentration in future.

Software engineering＇s lifecycle models havc proven to be very important for traditional software development. However, can these models be applied to the development of Web-based applications as well？ In recent years, Web-based applications have become more and more complicated and a lot of efforts have been placed on introducing new technologies such as J2EE, PhP, and .NET, etc., which have been universally accepted as the development technologies for Web-based applications. However, there is no universally accepted process model for the development of Web-based applications. Moreover, shaping the process model for small medium-sized enterprises （SMEs）, which have limited resources, has been relatively neglected. Based on our previous work, this paper presents an expanded lifecycle process model for the development of Web-based applications in SMEs. It consists of three sets of processes, i.e., requirement processes, development processes, and evolution processes. Particularly, the post-delivery evolution processes are important to SMEs to develop and maintain quality web applications with limited resources and time.

Scalable nanomanufacturing of surfactant-free carbon nanotube inks for spray coatings with high conductivity

Spray-coated carbon nanotube films offer a simple and printable solution for fabricating low cost, lightweight, and flexible thin-film electronics. However, current nanotube spray inks require either a disruptive surfactant or destructive surface functionalization to stabilize dispersions at the cost of the electrical properties of the deposited film. We demonstrate that high-purity few-walled carbon nanotubes may be stabilized in isopropanol after surface functionalization and that optimizing the ink stability dramatically enhances the conductivity of subsequent spray-coated thin films. We consequently report a surfactant-free carbon nanotube ink for spray-coated thin films with conductivities reaching 2,100 S/cm. Zeta-potential measurements, used to quantify the nanotube ink dispersion quality, directly demonstrate a positive correlation with the spray- coated film conductivity, which is the key metric for high-performance printed electronics.

Common displays such as CRT or LCD screens have limited capabilities in displaying most color spectra correctly. The main disadvantage of these devices is that they work with three primaries and the colors displayed are the mixture of these three colours. Consequently these devices can be confusing in testing human color identification, because the spectral distribution of the colors displayed is the combined spectrum of the three primaries. We have developed a new instrument for spectrally correct color vision measurement. This instrument uses light emitting diodes (LEDs) and is capable of producing all spectra of perceivable colors, thus with appropriate test methods this instrument can be a reliable and useful tool in test~ing human color vision and in verifying color vision correction.
