The cOVID-19 pandemic caused by SARS-coV-2 virus is an ongoing global health *** cases of cOVID-19 and the rare cases of cOVID-19 vaccine-induced-thrombotic-thrombocytopenia(VITT)are both associated with thrombosis and thrombocytopenia;however,the underlying mechanisms remain inadequately *** infection and vaccination utilize the spike protein receptor-binding domain(RBD)of *** found that intravenous injection of recombinant RBD caused significant platelet clearance in *** investigation revealed the RBD could bind platelets,cause platelet activation,and potentiate platelet aggregation,which was exacerbated in the Delta and Kappa *** RBD–platelet interaction was partially dependent on theβ3 integrin as binding was significantly reduced inβ3−/−***,RBD binding to human and mouse platelets was significantly reduced with relatedαIIbβ3 antagonists and mutation of the RGD(arginine-glycine-aspartate)integrin binding motif to RGE(arginine-glycine-glutamate).We developed anti-RBD polyclonal and several monoclonal antibodies(mAbs)and identified 4F2 and 4H12 for their potent dual inhibition of RBD-induced platelet activation,aggregation,and clearance in vivo,and SARS-coV-2 infection and replication in Vero E6 *** data show that the RBD can bind platelets partially thoughαIIbβ3 and induce platelet activation and clearance,which may contribute to thrombosis and thrombocytopenia observed in cOVID-19 and *** newly developed mAbs 4F2 and 4H12 have potential not only for diagnosis of SARS-coV-2 virus antigen but also importantly for therapy against cOVID-19.

Polaron defects are ubiquitous in materials and play an important role in many processes involving carrier mobility,charge transfer and surface *** small polarons’spatial distributions is essential to understand materials properties and ***,the required exploration of the configurational space is computationally demanding when using first principles ***,we propose a machine-learning(ML)accelerated search that determines the ground state polaronic *** ML model is trained on databases of polaron configurations generated by density functional theory(DFT)via molecular dynamics or random *** establish a mapping between configurations and their stability,we designed descriptors modelling the interactions among polarons and charged point *** used the DFT+ML protocol to explore the polaron configurational space for two surface-systems,reduced rutile TiO_(2)(110)and Nb-doped SrTiO_(3)(001).The ML-aided search proposes additional polaronic configurations and can be utilized to determine optimal polaron distributions at any charge concentration.

Desorption isotherms and isosteric heat of anaerobic fermentation residues

This paper presents the equilibrium desorption isotherms and the isosteric heat of sorption of a mixture containing mechanically dewatered fermentation residue(obtained from a blend of chicken,swine and cattle manure)used in biogas plants and corn spoiled silage in a ratio of 2:*** moisture desorption isotherms of the fermentation residue were determined at 32°c,40°c and 80°c and in the relative humidity range of 0.057/1 using static gravimetric *** equations were used to analyze the desorption data of Modified Henderson,Modified Halsey,Modified Oswin,Modified chung–Pfost and Modified GAB *** constants of the model equations were calculated by non-linear regression *** Modified Henderson model fitted to the desorption isotherm data *** the proposed function,the final moisture content of the material can be determined as long as it can be dried in infinite time with the drying gas in the given *** isosteric heat of desorption was calculated by using the Modified Henderson model in the studied temperature range based on the clausius–clapeyron *** isosteric heat varied between 46 k J·mol-1 and 67 k J·mol-1 at moisture levels 1.91 b Xe<4.05 kgH2O·kgdP-1 for the material.

Anti-apoptotic effect of retinoic acid on retinal progenitor cells mediated by a protein kinase A-dependent mechanism

Retinal progenitor cells (RPcs) are neural stem cells able to differentiate into any normal adult retinal cell type,except for pigment epithelial cells. We present new analyses of variations in O-c diagrams of three Algol-type eclipsing binary stars：AD And,TW cas and IV *** have used all published minima times（including visual and photographic）as well as newly determined ones from our and Super Wasp *** determined orbital parameters of 3^（rd） bodies in the systems with statistically significant errors,using our code based on genetic algorithms and Markov chain Monte carlo *** confirmed the multiple nature of AD And and the triple-star model of TW cas,and we proposed a quadruple-star model of IV cas.

Repeated cupping manipulation temporary decreases natural killer lymphocyte frequency, activity and cytotoxicity

OBJEcTIVE： Elevated natural killer lymphocyte cytotoxicity（NKc） has been linked with reproductive problems in women. Here we evaluate the potential benefit of cupping therapy（cT） in reproductionrelated immune ***： This was a pilot clinical study. Participants were he althy fe male volunteers（n = 23） with elevated NKc, and received repeated cT 3 times over 5 d（inner pressure 40–50 kPa, 40 min; 12–1 5 cups）. Lymphocyte subsets, NKc and NK lymphocyte activity（NKa） were measured in blood on day 0（initial levels, before the first treatment） and days 3, 10 and 17 after the last cT treatment, using the K562-stimulated cD69 expression ***： As a result of cT manipulations NKa was reduced on days 3 and 10, and NK percentage was reduced on day 10. NKc was most sensitive to cT treatment, resulting in their decreased counts at 3, 10 and 17 d post cT. cT treatment decreased NKc in the majority of individuals（87%）, but the magnitude of the effect was variable. Out of 23 subjects 9（39.1%） had a 2–3 fold decrease of NKc on days 3, 10 and 17; 11（47.8%） started to show a decrease in NKc later, or more quickly returned to base levels; and only 3（13%） subjects displayed no effect of cT on NKc. Expectedly, no changes in T-cell subsets（cD3cD4, cD3cD8, HLADR, cD158a） were observed after ***： cT decreased NK cell numbers, their activity and cytotoxicity. Low cost, safety, noninvasive nature and ease of administration make cT a promising approach for NKc down-regulation.

Leveraging the high resolution,sensitivity,and wide frequency coverage of the Atacama Large Millimeter/submillimeter Array(ALMA),the QUARKS survey,standing for“Querying Underlying mechanisms of massive star formation with ALMA-Resolved gas Kinematics and Structures”,is observing 139 massive starforming clumps at ALMA Band 6(λ~1.3 mm).This paper introduces the Atacama compact Array(AcA)7 m data of the QUARKS survey,describing the AcA observations and data *** multiwavelength data,we provide the first edition of QUARKS atlas,offering insights into the multiscale and multiphase interstellar medium in high-mass star *** AcA 1.3 mm catalog includes 207 continuum sources that are called AcA *** gas kinetic temperatures are estimated using three formaldehyde transitions with a non-LTE radiation transfer model,and the mass and density are derived from a dust emission *** AcA sources are massive(16–84 percentile values of 6–160 M_(⊙)),gravity-dominated(M∝R^(1.1))fragments within massive clumps,with supersonic turbulence(M>1)and embedded star-forming *** find a linear correlation between the masses of the fragments and the massive clumps,with a ratio of 6%between the *** considering fragments as representative of dense gas,the ratio indicates a dense gas fraction(DGF)of 6%,although with a wide scatter ranging from 1%to 10%.If we consider the QUARKS massive clumps to be what is observed at various scales,then the size-independent DGF indicates a self-similar fragmentation or collapsing mode in protocluster *** the AcA data over four orders of magnitude of luminosity-to-mass ratio(L/M),we find that the DGF increases significantly with L/M,which indicates clump evolutionary *** observed a limited fragmentation at the subclump scale,which can be explained by a dynamic global collapse process.

The study focuses on the in flue nee of Ni and Bi on alkali me etha nol oxidati on reacti on (EOR) activities, stabilities and structure characteristics of carb on supported Pd-based nano catalysts (Pd/c, Pd6oNi4o/c, Pd6oBi4o/c, Pd6oNi2oBi2o/c) by cyclic voltammetry/chr ono amperometry using rotating disk electrode and various physico-chemical methods such as X-ray powder diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy coupled with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry. Nickel generates more adsorbed OH on the Pd catalyst surface than Bi and promotes the oxidation of adsorbed ethanol species. This results in a low onset potential toward ethanol oxidation with high current density. The presenee of Bi facilitates high toleranee toward various reaction in termediates resulting from the incomplete etha nol oxidation, but might also initiate the agglomerati on of Pd nano particles. The no vel Pd60Ni20Bi20/c nanocatalyst displays exceptional byproduct toleranee, but only satisfying catalytic activity toward ethanol oxidation in an alkaline medium. Therefore, the EOR performanee of the novel carbon supported ternary PdxNiyBiz anode catalyst with various atomic variations (Pd70Ni25Bi5/c, Pd70Ni20Bi10/c, Pd80Ni10Bi10/c and Pd40Ni20Bi40/c) using the common instant reduction synthesis method was further optimized for the alkaline direct ethanol fuel cell. The carbon supported Pd:Ni:Bi nano catalyst with atomic ratio of 70:20:10 displays outsta nding catalytic activity for the alkaline EOR compared to the other PdxNiyBiy/c nanocatalysts as well as to the benchmarks Pd/c, Pd60Ni40/c and Pd60Bi40/c. The synergy and the optimal content in consideration of the oxide species of Pd, Ni and Bi are crucial for the EOR kinetic enhancement in alkaline medium.

coral-like structures of the Y_(3-x)Pr_(x)Fe_(5-y)Yb_(y)O_(12),(0.00 ≤ x ≤ 0.04, 0.00 ≤ y ≤ 0.02) compound were synthesized using the sol-gel method. Structural investigation certified the YIG cubic crystal structure formation, without any secondary phase. It is shown that, the relatively large ionic radius of the dopant cations results in an expansion of the lattice parameter, variations in the Iona-O-Iondangle, Iona-O,Iond-O and Ionc-O bond distances and decrease in the average crystallite size. Fourier transform infrared(FTIR) and Raman measurements are essential to testify the single-phase formation of YIG crystal structure and are observed changes in the stretching and vibrational modes, respectively. The morphological study, energy dispersive spectroscopy(EDS) spectra and textural properties show corallike structures, peaks associated with Pr^(3+) and Yb^(3+) atoms and the effect of dopants on surface area,diameter, and pore volume, respectively. The optical analysis from diffuse reflectance spectra witnessed an increase in the optical gap band, a decrease in Urbach energy and blue shift in the charge transfer,correlated with the expansion of the unit cell due to the dopant's insertion in the YIG structure. A typical ferrimagnetic behavior is exhibited by the Y_(3-x)Pr_(x)Fe_(5-y)Yb_(y)O_(12)compound. The saturation magnetization(M_(s)), cubic anisotropy constant(K_(1)) and coercive field(H_(c)) increase with the Pr^(3+)cations content, as consequence of their magnetic nature and distribution around of Fe^(3+)ions due to the coexistence with the Yb^(3+). Finally, for the first time, antibacterial tests by mean of the direct contact method were performed for YIG co-doped with Pr^(3+)and Yb^(3+)and it is shown that, relatively high dosages of Pr^(3+) cations favored the activity against S. aureus, therefore, a new biological property for YIG doped with rare earths is presented.
