Experimental study on influence of blade angle and particle size on particle mechanics on a batch-operated single floor of a multiple hearth furnace

In industry,multiple hearth furnaces are used for the thermal treatment of particulate *** current contribution concentrates on the experimental analysis of particle mechanics for a batch-operated single floor of a multiple hearth *** particles are agitated on the circular floor by a single,rotating rabble arm equipped with three flat rabble blades of 10 mm *** blade angle,defined as the angle,which the blade is inclined against the tangential direction,is varied from 0°to 90°.A single layer of spherical polyoxymethylene(POM)particles with three different diameters(5,10 and 20 mm)is placed on the *** analyze the results,two parameters have been extracted from image analysis when the bed of particles is agitated,first,the area not covered by particles and second,the frequency distribution of the mean distance among the *** particle free surface area increases with the inclination of the *** evolution of the particle free surface area differs for the different particle *** general,the maximum particle free area for all blade angles is the largest for the 5 mm particles followed by the 20 mm *** the 10 mm particles,the particle free surface area starts for a blade angle of 0°at larger values than for the 20 mm particles but the values fall below the values for the 20 mm particles for larger blade *** reason for this behavior is discussed in *** mean distance among the particles is a parameter characterizing the length scales dominating the effects on the *** frequency distribution of the mean distance among particles provides infor-mation about the morphology of the particle bulk,for example,whether the free surface area is inter-spersed with particles.

Gas-phase hydrogenation influence on defect behavior in titanium-based hydrogen-storage material

Titanium and its alloys are promising materials for hydrogen storage. However, hydrogen penetration accompanies the exploitation of hydrogen storage alloys. In particular, hydrogen penetration and accumulation in titanium alloys changes their mechanical properties. Therefore, the research works of such materials are mainly focused on improving the reversibility of hydrogen absorption-liberation processes, increasing the thermodynamic characteristics of the alloys, and augmenting their hydrogen storage capacity. In the process of hydrogenation-dehydrogenation, the formed defects both significantly reduce hydrogen storage capacity and can also be used to create effective traps for hydrogen. Therefore, the investigation of hydrogen interaction with structural defects in titanium and its alloys is very important. The present work, the hydrogen-induced formation of defects in the alloys of commercially pure titanium under temperature gas-phase hydrogenation（873 K） has studied by positron lifetime spectroscopy and Doppler broadening spectroscopy. Based on the evolution of positron annihilation parameters τ_f, τd, their corresponding intensities If, Idand relative changes of parameters s/s0and W/W0, the peculiarities of hydrogen interaction with titanium lattice defects were investigated in a wide range of hydrogen concentrations from 0.8at% to 32.0at%.

An overview of progress in Mg-based hydrogen storage films

Mg-based hydrogen storage materials are considered to be one of the most promising solid-state hydrogen storage materials due to their large hydrogen storage capacity and low cost. However, slow hydrogen absorption/desorption rate and excessive hydrogen absorption/desorption temperature limit the application of Mg-based hydrogen storage *** present paper reviews the advances in the research of Mg-based hydrogen storage film in recent years, including the advantage of the film, the function theory of fabricating method and its functional theory, and the influencing factors in the technological process. The research status worldwide is introduced in detail. By comparing pure Mg, Pd-caped Mg, nonpalladium capped Mg, and Mg alloy hydrogen storage films, an ideal tendency for producing Mg-based film is pointed out,for example, looking for a cheap metal element to replace the high-priced Pd, compositing Mg film with other hydrogen storage alloy of catalytic elements, and so on.

searching for an Alternative Global Order:The Qing Tributary system and the Mechanism of Guanxi

In recent years,the Chinese leadership has openly argued that the inter- national community has to exceed the dominance of the Western-based rules in international relations,since in the last two centuries these rules have become globally accepted,China's claim seems to be a hardly imaginable ***, according to some scholars'view,there is a possible historical alternative for the international order,the so-called Chinese Tributary system,which once bounded the East and southeast Asian states *** present study examines whether the mainstream schools of the International Relations Theory provide an appropriate tool to understand the characteristics of this *** study argues that the culturally based "guanxi model"can supply a better explanatory framework to understand the inner logic and the working mechanism of the Tributary system.

Data are clear： humankind is facing a global socio-economic crisis. Global bodies search tbr solution in ending the neoliberal monopolistic, rather than free market, economy, and in introduction of systemic behavior under the label of social responsibility. To support this effort, the research that is reported about in this contribution, suggests systemic perception of social responsibility to cause the end of abuse, strategy of promotion of social responsibility, and of suitable economic preconditions, supported by several lines of action, which everybody can trigger.

shear assessment of compression flanges of structural concrete T-beams

In T-beams the force transfer from the web into the flange has to be studied. The general design procedure is based on a strut-and-tie （or a stress field） model which comprises spreading compressive and transverse tensile forces. As is known, strut-and-tie models represent the force flow within a structural member at ultimate. This procedure is sufficient for design purposes and in general, leads to safe results. For the assessment of a structure it may be worthwhile to improve the accuracy. For this purpose both web and flange have to be looked at more in detail. An advanced method for the analysis of webs in shear is the Generalized stress Field Approach [1]. This approach can be utilized for treating flanges, where the classical assumptions have to be adapted; in particular by considering the strain dependence of the concrete compressive strength and thus, defining a representative strain value. In the present contribution background and details of these aspects are given, and the corresponding calculation procedure is described. Theoretical results are compared with experimental data and show a reasonably good agreement. However, as the number of sufficiently documented tests is very limited no concluding findings are attained.

This study presents the results of the conodont biostratigraphy and microfacies analysis carried out on the pelagic limestones of the Upper Triassic Dov?ko section in slovenia,which represents the eastern part of the slovenian *** age of the section ranges from the Lacian 1 to the Alaunian *** Lacian part of the succession is predominantly characterized by the representatives of the genus *** morphologies towards Alaunian faunas first appear in the Lacian 3 and become common during the Lacian-Alaunian *** evolutionary development coincides with a shift in microfacies from a dominantly radiolarian-bearing mudstone-wackestone-packstone to a filament-dominated wackestone-packstone,and the formation of small neptunian dykes,which may reflect environmental perturbations and/or a change in basin *** proliferation of the genera Epigondolella and Mockina is observed in the Alaunian part of the section,though the genus Ancyrogondolella is still present in this *** description of the conodont taxa is provided,and seven new species and two new subspecies are *** new advances will be of great value in further biostratigraphic studies,especially in areas without ammonoid faunas,and in the reconstruction of the paleogeography of the slovenian Basin.
